    FEEDBACK TIME:

    Quote from sashashepto >>

    Hey asylum, I just submitted my class and I don't mean to be a nuisance with the tokens, I can change the formatting if you think it's too much. I put the evolutions in the spoiler just so that I'd only be presenting 3 cards on the surface:

    I absolutely cannot wait to make this class!!! Here's the initial phase of Trainer Red from the world of Pokémon!

    Woah! New mechanic already! What exactly does Evolve mean then?

    Evolve transforms a card into another, specific card. Evolution is done entirely in the hand. Each card that is able to evolve specifically states the keyword as well as the card it evolves into directly in the card description. You'll see what I mean in this first example card:

    BOOM! Sorry but I hit you with my second keyword at the end there, let's take it one step at a time.

    Let's say you are holding Larvitar in your hand and you cast your hero power, Experience. The Larvitar card changes into Pupitar in your hand. The same is done with Pupitar into Tyranitar.

    I decided to have different borders for 1st evolutions and 2nd evolutions, since I think it's cooler and more organized this way. Let me know what you guys think about that decision if you have an opinion.

    That new keyword on Tyranitar there, Mega-Evolve, is an entirely different thing. I'd explain now, but I think just showing you the next card will do the trick:

    OH YEAH! Oh shit here it comes. That's Mega-Evolution. Minions that are able to Mega-Evolve are able to be targeted by this spell, the Mega Stone. Once you do that, BOOYAH! The minion transforms into an awesome, more powerful version! What does Mega Tyranitar look like? I don't know! YET!

    Oh fuck! SPELLS! NICE! This spell, Magma Storm, is a pokemon move, but I am planning on basing spells off of items, encounters, treasures, lore, and anything else I can think of!

    Well all right, there you have it! I believe the underlying theme of the class is versatility, since the Evolution mechanic allows for the player to have a diverse set of play styles for each deck. Let's say you're facing an aggressive deck. To keep up, you may not want to evolve your minions and just send out a large number of small minions. Let's say you're facing a control deck. It may be in your best interest to evolve your minions as much as possible. Even against midrange, it takes strategy to decide when to spend that 2 mana hero power to maintain tempo.

    I am literally ecstatic, I'm so hyped to build this idea. Can't wait to see your guys' submissions! GOTTA CATCH EM ALL!

    Experience looks cool, requiring tactical thinking.
    Mega-Evolve looks promising.
    Magma Storm looks a bit like power creep to Excavated Evil. Or not.

    Feedback to some classes posted here and in the submission thread:

    @sashashepto:
    I really like the concept (just like your work on turning every pokémon into a card) and your hero power is what I think is something fresh since it doesn't poke around with 2 heal/damage/whatever theme.

    Can your already evolved pokémon like Pupitar be also put in the deck? Or are any evolved pokémon just tokens? If so, I think Pupitar needs a little buff (like +1 health), because you already spent 2 mana on it . Also: How do you decide which pokémon to re-do for this challenge? Do you take suggestions regarding the pkm? Or is it against the rules? What to do when pkm have multiple evolutions like eevee or tyrogue?
    How does your hero power work with Justicar? Perhaps a 1 mana discount to the evolved pkm?

    @Hackergrad :
    Thanks for the feedback man, I think Excavated Evil's gimmick is the whole 'shuffled into opponent's deck' thing, while mine costs one more mana and has the effect happen twice. Not just twice, but at weird times: The first is at the end of your turn, not immediately, so using it to set things up can be tricky. The second is at the start of your next turn, so your opponent can suicide their minions away and prepare.
    @Balckovic :
    Thanks for the feedback man, I think the Justicar Trueheart hero power will allow you to choose between evolving once or twice. I would've included it in the initial phase, but I already had 3 cards.
    Evolved pokemon are unobtainable; only first evolutions are obtainable. That's why it may be a good idea to also have good pokemon that do not evolve in your deck (like skarmory or ditto or something).
    I just think about what the class needs and find a pokemon line that would fit the niche aesthetically. I happily accept suggestions as to which pokemon to do! But in the end I'll just try to pick the coolest pokemon as possible.
    I have a super-awesome idea for eevee planned, it won't be a typical evolution. I haven't thought about tyrogue or any other ones yet, but I think I'm going to specially include many of those unorthodox evolutions since they usually are the most interesting.

    posted a message on Dragon Priest, stuck on ladder.

    Trade the Hungry Dragons for Twilight Guardians

    Trade the Sen'jin Shieldmasta for an Azure Drake

    Trade the Injured Blademaster for a Dragonkin Sorcerer

    Trade a Shadow Word: Pain (or a Shadow Word: Death) for a Lightbomb

    EDIT: I'm also not a fan of the Acidic Swamp Ooze I'd swap it for a Dark Cultist, but that's just me. The most flexible cards in your deck are the shadow words, I think having them all in one deck is excessive.

    posted a message on Dr. Boom

    Nerfing him to 8 mana is reasonable and healthy for the game.

    They nerfed Gadgetzan Auctioneer up 1 mana when he was played in just one deck and this guy is played in pretty much every deck. Some decks still run gadgetzan, and I know I'll still run Dr. Boom at 8 mana.

    The 7-slot is just completely uncontested with this card in the game, the lack of diversity is just too much.

    Depends on what you want to play. I'd say the top choice is between the second Lightbomb and Ice Block. Most mages use 2 ice blocks, but most priests don't double light bomb.

    posted a message on Fairly new to Hearthstone, is this a good card?

    That is motherfucking crazy. That's Deathwing.

    The card itself is mediocre, but my god is it cool. The most viable deck that uses it is dragon warrior, but some ambitious dragon priests also run him. Both of those decks are pretty expensive though, so the best idea I have is to just stick him into any constructed deck you've got so far and watch him do his thing. Basically, you play him when you expect your opponent to have run out of removal (towards the late-game). If he can't remove it, he may kill your opponent with that 12 Attack of his.

    Now that's a thread title I never thought I'd see. I'm so happy with all the changes LoE brought.

    Nice man. I remember from before I had her golden that I would be totally amazed to see the golden dagger whenever I ran across a golden rogue.

    posted a message on Blizzard: PLEASE GIVE SHAMAN AND HUNTER SOME PROPER AOE!!

    Powershot is good AoE and so is Acidmaw. I play a control hunter and those really clean up the board, also Hunter's Mark with Dreadscale or Unleash the Hounds works. I think hunter is honestly one of the better classes in terms of efficient removal, and it's AoE is different yet good.
