I'm going to make a pretty bold claim here and say that Blizzard wants to prevent OTK decks at all cost. To my knowledge, 3 (if not more) OTK decks have been nerfed to the point that they no longer work. My question here is why? Personally I don't understand why this sort of mechanic is not wanted in the game? It exists in some form, in nearly every TCG out there.
I'm getting rather bored with what I've been playing.Mostly Rogue/Warlock aggro. I'm not a big fan of aggro decks, I prefer control style decks more. Any suggestions for control decks that's been working for people?
I run the same deck except instead of Thalnos and Sylvanas I have an extra deadly poison and a blade fury.
Works well. Went from rank 14 to rank 7 in a few hours. It's hard to keep up with this deck's tempo if you know how to play it.
I will say though that I seem to have the most trouble with Druids. Their HP seems to be best against a rogue, plus the late game really hurts if you get off to a slow start.
The problem I have with this video: He's speaking as if this game was not in beta.
Guess what? MTG has a beta process, and cards do indeed get changed before released to the public. The biggest thing he is complaining about is that a company is making changes to cards to balance things while it's in beta. The only difference here, right now, today, is that he is a part of a beta process that he was never privy to in any other TCG.
Changes in beta happen, it is the nature of the beast. Will they continue to happen post-beta? Possibly. Unless Blizzard adopts the MTG, where they just start banning cards and/or not allowing you to use cards from a certain cut-off period. Do you think WOTC would have loved to make slight changes to cards out in the world, post-release? Sure. Instead they only way they can deal with it is either banning or using cut-off periods. And if you think people whine now, imagine being told that their digital stuff they paid for suddenly became unusable forever.
I think it'd be perfectly acceptable to ban certain cards in ranked play, but still allow them to be used in casual; that's how most TCGs work anyways.
Everyday I log into Hearthstone I cross my fingers that the daily isn't 3-5 wins with a Rogue or Warrior!
It's not necessarily that I think the classes are bad or anything, personally I think it's just because I don't have the right cards to make it work. Regardless, I spend hours upon end trying to win with these two classes :( Anyone have a cost-effective deck list for either a Warrior or Rogue to make this journey slightly less painful?
No, I use to think it was that way but you definitely don't pay to win. But I will say that by paying you save yourself a massive amount of time grinding for gold. The way I see it, $20-30 gives (or will hopefully give) you the cards you need to make at least one solid deck that you can go through normals with. Plus with Daily Quests you can usually make about 100 gold a day that you can use to get a pack a day if you aren't a fan of the arena. Additionally there's a bunch of hidden quests you can do for gold (i.e. winn 100, 1000 games in any mode, beat all expert AI)
I agree the concept of crafting cards may need to be reworked a little bit. Currently, it does feel like cards can be a tad too expensive to craft, mostly because the Arcane Dust you get from disenchanting is rather low :( For example, a Golden Common is 400 Arcane Dust to craft, but you only net 50 Arcane Dust if you disenchant it.
That being said, this game is certainly not pay to win. Sure, purchasing cards can allow you to obtain certain cards more quickly, but it's definitely not mandatory. As Trump stated in an interview, he hasn't spent any money (aside from on Arenas) and he made it to the Semi-Finals in the Hearthstone Invitational.
I cant go to priest class discussion because when i click on priest it tells me site not found. This is the adress that Im trying to reach.... http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/class-discussion/priest Does anyone know how can I go there ?
Ps. Im using G-Chrome
I'm receiving the same issue; using Google Chrome as well.
Holy fire works with prophet velen and spell damage as far as I know. The tooltip is just messed up.
Okay, so you're definitely right about Spell Damage, just tested it and it did scale properly. Tooltip is messed up though, as shown in the screen shot.

Yeah, I've been thinking of swapping Bloodmage Thalnos for a second Deadly Poison and then dropping the Edwin VanCleef for one Perdition's Blade. I'm currently not seeing a whole lot of use out of those two cards :/

I've had quite a lot of success playing a Rogue in current meta. The deck I'm running is a slight variant of the common Rogue deck most are running.

I'd like to see a larger variety of cards that bring out each individual classes specializations.
For example, Shadow Priest. Although there are some cards currently that expand on this idea, there's not really enough to make a deck around it.

I really enjoyed the concept of Artosis's priest deck!
One of the things Priests really lack is mass removal; the idea of using Auchenais Soulpriest along with Circle of Healing is quite interesting!

I forgot all about the hidden quests! These are an excellent way of earning your first 600 gold or so. For anyone that's interested here's the link : http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/1088-list-of-quests-and-daily-quests-in-hearthstone

My first arena I went 5-3 with a Mage. 5 straight wins, 3 straight losses :(

I'll have to test this in a practice match where I can keep him alive for more than a turn or two :)
