I'm less disappointed with the expansion by itself, and more frustrated by the fact that I'm seeing the same decks from last expansion.
Cubelock, yep, still there.
Spiteful priest, yep, still there.
Kingsbane rogue, yep, still there.
I'm sure as soon as someone figures out how to Exodia Mage without Ice Block that'll make a whopping comeback, too (applebaum heals probably).
I mean, we all knew those decks weren't losing enough cards in the rotation to reduce their frequency on the ladder, but even so. It's BORING. Shouldn't a new expansion AND a rotation shake things up? Because... it really didn't, except for the first few days. A few days in, it might as well be last month. This meta was already stale 2 months ago, and now it looks like at least 3 more months of the same thing.
This deck has been a blast to play. I went from rank 18 to rank 9 sporadically playing over the course of two evenings (approx 40 or 45 games played). I did swap out the Crystalline Oracle for a Second-Rate Bruiser since I was losing to some fast aggro decks.
While I like Patches for deck thinning, I'm leaning towards replacing him with either Shaku or Xaril. I love Xaril in miracle decks chiefly for the Auctioneer draw, but also for the extra cheap cards to combo things with.
My collection lacks names and at least 2/3 of the cards in a game won't have names (and it's never the same card missing a name, to add to the frustration and inability to duplicate the issue). My husband is having the same issue on his (separate) PC.
I know he's unpopular, but I threw in Lorewalker Cho as the deck itself doesn't have many spells (even counting the Hydrologist secrets), so you can plan when to play him according to your Smuggler's Run draws/plays and if he has a taunt to hide behind. You could always kill him off if he's been buffed in hand, or even with Blazecaller as a last resort. Most opponents aren't sure how to play around him and few people are running silences atm.
edit: from ranks 12-10 I've managed to completely paralyze multiple quest rogues by playing cho when their quest is at 3/4 complete or complete but they've not yet played the core. The amusing thing is they rarely do the math -- if they play the core, sure I get a copy, but they can remove the taunt, remove cho, and start their charging minions shennanigans, and the core won't really benefit me that much. They just REALLY don't want me to have it.
That's a good head's up. I made that mistake a few times, but it actually adds a component of fun to the deck for me -- how can I trade to make the giant cost 2 if it's at 0, or 'oh crap, whatever I thought I was going to do NEXT turn I need to play the Prophet if I hope to ... profit.'
I like to use curator to help me curve out with discovered cards early in the game, but any cheap sticky deathrattle that will net you 2 bodies when it dies would work too I should think -- haunted creeper, harvest golem come to mind. Or flip to a more aggro stance with mad bomber or flame juggler to help plink off your opponent's board.

Thanks for this deck list. I was at my wit's end for this boss. Defeated 3rd try.

I hope so, since that's what I did! So far I haven't had any issues.

Thanks Ophion. That did the trick for me.

I have a geforce GTX 780. No idea what the husband is running, other than his is newer. We both play in windowed mode.

That's a great idea. I did not revisit the deck once Journey came out, and I'm sure there are some fun things that could be swapped into the deck.

Thanks for the input! I'll admit I didn't think about Herald Volazj at all and he is perfect for this. Ditto Defias Cleaner > Kabal Songstealer.

In response to your edit: I ... may... :cough: have hit the 100 gold cap for the day just playing this deck in the brawl. Kleptomaniacs unite?

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
