posted a message on Wear your card back proud

I totally see where you're coming from but in my bias opinion I disagree.  I started playing a few months ago and some of those cardbacks look really nice.  The idea that I won't be able to get them would suck, as I like giving different cardbacks to my different decks and I only have like eight i think.  I'm sure there are a lot of you who have been playing a long time but not long enough to have them all who kind of want some of those first backs.  If it were just a few promotional things like you'd see in another game then sure but that's a ton of card backs new players will be missing out on.

    Share the love.

posted a message on Golden Arugal worth dusting?

I'd keep it.  I unpacked an Arugal and it's a good card with potential that might be in standard a while.  The only good deck it's in right now is murloc mage but it can win games in that deck, and it has potential to be really strong in other decks in the future, especially after the rotation.

If you have any kind of mage collection it's a definite keep.

    I think it's a solid card.

    • Synergy with elemental train - There aren't any solid elemental 2 drops that you'd want to play early.  However, I don't think there are any 3 drops that want you to play an elemental the turn before.  Still useful i think.
    • Synergy with even shaman - deck has some room for two drop swaps and it's a deck that runs out of steam so an extra minion can be nice
    • Synergy with the now elemental Mountain Giant- allows you to play a minion while keeping your hand size the same, like firefly.  This could be a big deal if shaman get a card that lets them actually draw some shit.
    • Synergy with Hagatha - For one card you can play two minions and get two spells

All of this makes it a much better two drop to draw in the late game than most.

posted a message on Fundamental problem with Hearthstone is also its Charm

It's crazy how stuck up some people get about this game.  Wow, you lost to RNG.  It's a game.  For fun.  This game isn't meant to be some great test of skill and intellect.  There is skill involved for sure but if people hate RNG so much why don't they play a real sport or at least a game that is more constructed.

This would be good in a deck with Mountain Giant so you can play a minion while keeping your hand size the same, it also keeps the elemental train rolling.

Echo would never be a thing anyway.  Mage has like three echo neutrals and none of them would be good in aggro mage, or likely at all.

Flame Geyser and Primordial Glyph will be able to draw you cards, but likely not more than one unless you can play whatever you topdeck.  Like if Glyph isn't the rightmost card, you can play what you get from the glyph and draw one.  I think the synergy with glyph will be more because it's a cheap spell than the card added to your hand.  As of the cards in the game right now Luna will mostly be for top decking cards and playing them one after another.

I could imagine it in most shaman decks.  Overload, Shudderwock, and elemental have some spells you wouldn't mind doubling up on.  It's a flexible card.  Far Sight, Healing Rain, Lightning Storm.  Even in a tight spot Lightning Bolt becomes a Fireball.  It might not be in the same deck with Sandbinder though.

I think this is a really solid card.  In the late game it's better than AI, just not on turn 3.  It's not better than Aluneth but it rotates out in a few months.  The power level of the game isn't going to go down unless they print cards that aren't as strong as last years very powerful sets.  Depending on other cards they print with Boomsday, this will probably only see play in specific kind of decks for now, but it will probably be a staple in tempo mage after Aluneth rotates.  I could see it in some other kinds of mage decks too as a bit of a filler card.

I can see it replacing Alluneth once it rotates out.  I really think Blizz is looking towards the future with this xpac and WW.

Imagine getting a Vex Crow and this card to stick till the next turn when you have 10 mana and a deck full of low cost spells.

...and then you summon a Doomsayer.

With this and the rogue legendary I kind of think this xpac will have something that puts certain cards in our deck perhaps?  Seems like a pretty shitty legendary without trying to make up some reason you would want to play consecutive top decks or something.

I also think with the Witchwood and forward they're trying to lower the power of legendary cards greatly.  A lot of the WW legendary have a similar feel of "eh, not bad when it works" to them.

posted a message on Why the Magnetic Keyword is a Mistake and How to Fix It

I disagree completely.  I think it adds relevancy to a tribe that is completely irrelevant in standard.

Allowing it to work for all minions is what limits design space.  Then, they would have to consider every card already in the game, especially standard, with each card.  I don't see them being able to make the effects really strong then or you'll just be dealing with supercharged Hadronox or some shit.  There aren't that many mechs and the new ones will be created with that in mind.

Looking at shaman spells right now and there actually aren't a lot this has great synergy with.  For a lot of other classes this card would be busted but for shaman it seems not amazing, but very versatile with a lot of deck building potential.  It does make lightning storm a pretty nice board clear: 6 mana for 4-6 damage.  Volcano will be 30 damage board nuke, Lava burst becomes a pyroblast for 6 mana.  Double farsight would be pretty nice I guess.

If you use it with Ancestral Spirit does it resummon two? or Spirit Echo?

I highly double the second cast is random but is the second cast able to target a different target? I kind of doubt it based on how most other cards work but that would be some added flex.

posted a message on White Combo Priest

It's a pretty good deck, fun to play.  I've been playing a lot of different combo priest lists and this one is not the best for the meta but it does the job.  I ran mine with one mass dispel and two tar creepers instead of two silence and the egg.  Tar creeper seems better than the egg overall, it's better before and after an inner fire.  Silence might be better than Mass dispel for this deck, i'm not really sure yet.

I kind of feel like it could use a shadow word: death in there somewhere.  Even lock dropping a giant on turn 3 is pretty common and an instant win for them because you have no way to stop it that early.

I really like the idea of Lady in White and I was happy when i unpacked it on expansion release day but it has gotten little use for me.  Maybe it gets some form of support later on, it's a fun and neat card.  It gives combo priest a much better late game but it still can't quite compare value wise with a lot of these other decks.

How exactly is the new one worse? They say the same thing. All that changes is pitch.

There are some vocal effects on the old one as well.  Sounds like some reverb and some other effect(s).  The first one is a lot better imo.
