Rend and Reload are the best two in my opinion. Not over the top, very simple, but very effective cards that fit mechanically and thematically into many different decks. Good job and great work to all contestants though :)
I don't know how many of you have seen this video by our favorite Salty streamer, Reynad, in which he talks about what RNG effects makes games interesting, and which are unfun. Basically, random early game damage effects, like knife juggler, flame juggler, flamewar, etc, are all bad for the game. A sentiment i tend to agree with. While cards like spellbinder, sir finley, needs, confessor, are all good and fun RNG effects. This is mostly due to the fact that killing people's early game minions, giving you early board control, usually decides the game. and doing that based on luck is simply not fun, not interesting.
What are your opinions on this? i just want a discussion, so play nice people :)
It's weird. Because after playing a card all possible outcomes will be computed before dying any minion, and all effects should trigger, just like when you Whirlwind and 1 hp Armorsmith gives you armor then dies.
exactly why i thought it was weird! very strange indeed
So i have ship's cannon on board, and a death's bite with 1 durability. i play N'Zoth's first mate, which destroyed the death's bite, and then death's bite whirlwind effect killed the first mate, and ship's cannon did not go of. So i guess the rusty hook got summoned and destroyed the death's bite, causing the whirlwind to go off and kill the first mate before the first mate was technically even summoned. crazy
Control priest can beat CW if played correctly, and control paladin is favored vs both control priest and control warrior because the hero power is miles better.

Wow, I knew that the community was bad at predicting how viable cards will be before they're released but this came as a surprise.
Wait, are you saying you're surprised they got their predictions right, or are you saying they undervalued the card? Either way, there are way more hilarious threads talking about old cards, this one is kind of tame.
like, "grim patron will never work, needs too many cards to be combod" "dr.Boom just doesn't have enough value on the 7 mana slot.there are better cards to run, like troggzor."
"Mysterious Challenger is bad, because it forces you to run terrible secrets in your deck!"

I'm a fan of the Undercity Huckster - it gets you a minion on the board quickly and you might get some nice class cards out of it. I have actually just been playing the standard Bloodfen Raptor just to get some minions out there. I like playing Defias Ringleader too - 2 for 1 basically. Good at the beginning of the game.
bloodfin raptor is strictly worse than huge toad or flame juggler
They debilitated Druid with nerfs and never give Priest anything even remotely close to OP. And they still give nice shiny cards to their favorite classes. Ben Brode's is Paladin, so of course Ragnaros, Lightlord, a Legendary that would have meshed so well with Priest, ended up in Paladin where it's just a mediocre minion at best.
far from mediocre, an amazing card in every way. really helps with making control pale viable
