thebitterfig posted a message on Is Burgle Rogue really that big of a deal?Posted in: General DiscussionThe Maestra of the Masquerade interaction with Wildpaw Gnoll (and Double Agent, to a lesser extent) is really quite bullshit. The Gnolls are probably fair without it, if you have to add cards from other classes to your hand through various actual burgle effects. I don't mind free 4/5 rush minions, if you have to go through a reasonable effort to get them.
Devout Pupil, for example, can be really strong, but you have to actually work for it over a few turns to get them free. That's a semblance of balance. Simply having Maestra in your deck to get free Gnolls, however, is not balanced, because there's no effort. It just happens, but it shouldn't.

Phoesias posted a message on Is Burgle Rogue really that big of a deal?Posted in: General DiscussionThere are exactly 3 cards that carry the entire rogue class alone right now:
-Secret Passage
Broken since Day1 and imho the most powerful carddraw in the history of HS. As noted 1 Mio. Times, the generated Cards shoult not remain in your Hand. But its the least critical card and i have doubst, that rogue woul no longer exist if Secret Passage gets a nerf. So i dont know about that. Sometimes its okay if classes have access to broken cards - if there arent too many of them
-0 Mana 4/5 Rush Turn 1 / 2
Needs a nerf. Im 100% sure they will rise the cost next Patch. If you have a bad mulligan and no answer (i mean, what is a 1 or 2 Mana answer to a 4/5 rush !?), its simply GG
-Hero Card
Gives Rogue a Board clear (+Tempo) wich the class should never have because this contradicts the class identity. This was what the devs said when Vanish was removed from Standard. Rogue is fast, rogue is deadly, rogue is agile, rogue can kill single targets - but never should be able to clear a full board. (Unless they discovering some shit)

FlyingCarrot posted a message on The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different resultsPosted in: Wild FormatQuote from FlyingCarrot >>
I been trying my hardest to withstand the insanity that is literally the whole f*cking game revolving around ONE f*cking deck, there is no originality, no consistency, when the main deck is soo simple that even rng cant f*ck it up and when that happens, we have a problem!Your comment leads only to one conclusion: there's no such thing as 'RNG'. There's only an A.I. deciding who wins or loses. Explanation: serving a target audience for marketing purposes. It's that cynical. Thinking in terms of skill and strategy is make believe to keep you playing: the next game I'll be better and hopefully win... and if you do remember it's not your skill, it's the A.I grand you that.
Just experiment: after 3 losses in a row stop playing for 10 minutes. The A.I logs that and in other to keep you playing will grant you the next victory. Test it.
im saying that the pirate warrior requires less rng when the deck is soo emptyly simple and there is soo much tutoring from each card interaction, you dingus.
if you have bad start, lets say as rogue, you automatically are screwed and have less odds of winning, if pirate warrior has a bad start, it gets easily fixed within 1 turn because you get a weapon, from your quest and cheap piraties ahoi. -

Andrei2007 posted a message on REAL Bots in HSPosted in: General DiscussionThere have been tons of bots in hearthstone for years. Some people try to deny it, they are the same ones who will tell you the game is not rigged.
Imagine believing the game is rigged, and still playing it and hanging out on forums. Like the village idiot on Sunday gatherings, that everyone kinda avoids, but he's there for no logical reason.

That is a strawman. Don’t fall for this guys dirty trick, the existence of bots has nothing to do with wether the game is rigged or not (which it isn’t, as proven by stats and numbers, but you know, people started to believe a while ago that their personal opinion is true no matter the facts)

TallStranger posted a message on Magister Dawngrasp, the most pointless hero card in HS history?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Aggro699999 >>Boohoo, sucks to be a mage player. Just use the quest and make everyone concede because it's the most boring deck to play against.
Nice, nasty response. Very mature. Maybe, just maybe, OP doesn't like playing the questline and wants to, you know, try a less boring deck to play. I'll pretend to be shocked that your name is Aggro.
I'm disappointed to hear that the card has not yet been particularly good. Since I don't have it (but liked playing mage before it became "spells and nothing else"), I had high hopes that we could see a more interesting archetype this expac. That said, we're still very early in the expansion: perhaps someone will come up with a deck that isn't mindless to play and painful to play against.

OoZuNoO posted a message on Magister Dawngrasp, the most pointless hero card in HS history?Posted in: General DiscussionI'm struggling to understand what they had in mind when Team 5 came up with this one. What strategy is it suppose to support? Tried everything and nothing works.
Spells casted by other cards (Clumsy Courier, Iceblood Tower etc) wont be copied by it, you must hard cast the spells yourself, so it doesnt rly fit in a Big Spell deck.
Wildfire is recasted before the new hero power is in place (not a bug, thats how battlecries work), so it doesnt support ping mage either.
It obviously doesnt support mage decks that run many low mana spells either, as it doesnt generate enough value.
WTF is this piece of shit supposed to do then? Was there ever a more pointless hero card than this one? Srsly asking..

Mercs. Duels is a niche product. Duels is for people who like constructed, draft, and absurd power levels all at once but has done a decent job of entertaining that audience and didn't have a huge investment with most of the code already being in place from both Arena and Dungeon runs. Some new art, some new powers, stamp a "NEW GAME MODE" on it and ship it. Even with very little support its has a decent audience.
Mercs should have a much wider appeal as the turn based gacha games have a long track record of success. And it cost a much larger amount of investment going into it but flopped completely.

Still better than constructed.

My expectations were low, once again Blizzard and the Hearthstone devs found a way to deliver even less than I expected.
8
My guess would be the numerous wild-specific balance changes they have made in the past.
2
I voted for reducing Juggernaut's damage solely because of my lack of confidence in the current dev team. Option 2 is a less bad solution, narrowing the mana range of pirates/weapons generated to 3 or less would be the better solution. No 12 free mana turns would take a few %s off without fundamentally undermining the questline's design. Although the best solution would be to delete the last 2 years worth of cards from the game, swap the card design and custodial teams, fire Ayala, and start with a clean slate.
1
Better than the two years of horrid card design and insane power creep that we've gone through.
2
The first two are, simply due to how utterly trash your decks are for those fights.
3
Do you remember when the devs said they had a super-powerful AI that they used in balance testing pre-release? Pepperidge Farm remembers
3
You have to click on the tasks to actually complete them, they should go away and register then.

Just what the meta needed, more cheap draw and cost reductions. Another season of Duels for me.
