posted a message on What time does KoC release?

There hasn't been a time given, but I believe Frozen Throne launched around noon PST (maybe a little bit before).

And yes, the classic pack is this week's Tavern Brawl reward. Not sure why they wouldn't give one more K&C pack, since it releases tomorrow, but they must have had a reason...

you should also list the hidden challenges (like getting 1000 ranked wins) in the one-time rewards section, as you get gold/packs for those...

and I agree. We'll see plenty removal. I won't like my opponents having fun with their newly aquired weapons.

Thanks for clarifying. I guess it's not that great then, at least in Standard. By the time its spent, it should be turn 9 or 10. And if you are at turn 10 and break it, it shouldn't do anything.
And after reviewing the cards again, you will probably want to run at least 2-3 weapon removals in case they run 2 Rummaging Kobold

posted a message on How many KaC packs will you open?

just hit 6000 gold and 9000 dust. so, including the free packs, I'll be opening at least 50 packs. I'm still deciding on whether I'll open the last 20, or save the gold for arena runs (I think I can do better than 3 wins, although that's tough to know since arena will have all the new cards in play as well)

What's weird is that while I am excited for the expansion as a whole, there are very few cards I'm really interested in at the moment. I enjoy playing all classes and just finding interesting decks rather than meta decks (right now I'm playing a Freeze Totem shaman with Moorabi that can be fun. I'm hoping some of the totem support in the newest expansion will help it get to tier 2 at least). I also have always enjoyed Priest until the last couple of months of Raza/Anduin BS (i'm also not a fan of Reno decks) BUT I'm excited for Dragon Priest to come back.

why do you need rules of etiquette when you can just squelch a talkative opponent? If you have problems with the emotes and the associated BM, then just squelch.

I personally love to threaten and concede as soon as I see lethal from an opponent, since it overwrites your (you won) emote with the threaten emote and then you also stop them from actually winning/playing any more cards by destroying yourself. It's at least a little satisfaction from losing a game, especially when you lost because of RNG.

posted a message on Ozzes will not be needed anymore(I think)

So you aren't scared by any of the weapons?? The Warlock weapon could spiral out of control very quickly by getting some big demons for the first couple of turns. Plus, with 0 attack, there is no way for it to be used up unless you Ooze it or Harrison Jones' it.

Not to mention the same thing for Priest and Mage. Both give them quite a bit of advantage if you don't take care of it.

Also, if you let the Druid break their weapon on their turn, they get 10 mana refreshed. If you Ooze it on earlier turns, they probably won't get any mana (since it is not their turn, and on their turn they will just get the mana crystals they have. The weapon doesn't give ramp, just acts like Kun.

I think we will see plenty of weapon removal for at least the first month of the expansion. Maybe when things settle down, you won't need Oozes, or maybe just one in a deck, but before that, you would be crazy to not have some kind of weapon removal in your deck.

posted a message on Should I dust Moorabi?

Definitely don't dust it until the new expansion launches. Then, probably even wait another 1-2 weeks until some of the meta shakes out and you can see what cards are actually performing well. then, if you really don't think you will ever play freeze shaman, you could dust it to get a cool epic.

While many people will tell you to never dust a legendary, if you are truly free to play and are never going to get all the cards, then dusting it is perfectly acceptable, especially if you aren't going to be buying very many KFT packs from here on out (as you would need to be incredibly lucky/unlucky to get another copy)

posted a message on Secrets Hunter + Big Hunter = Success

Sergeant Sally is certainly an unusual choice. I've had that in my collection forever and have rarely used it (even Cho sees more play). So, I'm interested to see if this will really work, or if it is more of a meme deck. Personally, I think this is more of a meme deck that might have some strong plays, but it will equally have some horrible games (where you don't draw your pieces in the right order, or you start with all your high cost cards).

I think surviving the early game will be challenging, since you will have to time your secrets appropriately, but with a strong player it could still be used to rank up.

posted a message on Standard Ladder without a meta deck?

I actually pride myself on getting to rank 5 each month without a tier 1 (or sometimes even tier 2) meta deck. And actually some the decks you have tried I've actually gotten to rank 5, so it's definitely do-able.

November 2017 - Silence priest (almost all the silence cards, i even ran 1 ironbeak owl, Ancient Watcher, Humongeous Razorleaf, inner fire/divine spirit, kabal talonpriest, Priest of the Feast, and lots of draw to find your combo pieces). Went from rank 10 to rank 5 in 2 days and most games were over by turn 8, sometimes 6.

October 2017 - Midrange Hunter (pretty standard build with the DK. Knowing the right combinations of beasts to generate was crucial to rank up)

September 2017 - Dragon Priest with inner fire and divine spirit - This was before the nerfs when Rogue was everywhere.

And I'm sure you could also probably do it with a buffadin deck, murloc paladin, agro druid.

I had success mostly because I knew the meta and could almost predict what my opponent would play before he played it. Then it was just a matter of hoping to get the right cards to counter whatever they were going to play).

Here is the silence priest deck I ran this month -

posted a message on Small help with crafting

Ysera...it's classic so it will never be rotated out (or if it is, it will be put in the hall of fame and you will get all your dust back). Plus, it's a little harder to kill than Lich King or Elise since it has more HP and 4 attack, which means it won't be DK Anduin'd or BGH'd, or SW:D. I also think the cards it gives you are better than Lich King or Elise (well, Elise CAN save your ass, but it is more RNG than I care for, since you are drawing from an entire set of cards rather than a smaller pool).

posted a message on Suggest a deck to get me from rank 5 to legend

For Wild....there are lots of possibilities, but I'd say Highlander Priest / Jade or Big Druid / Pirate Warrior should all be able to get to legend. You could also try Murloc Paladin, Tempo Rogue (with Keleseth) or Zoolock/Demonlock.

Just be prepared, even the best players say that rank 5-Legend are a huge grind.

     Dear Gary
I have asked you nicely and very polite four times at what rank you are playing this deck. Could you please answer with a number?
I am glad you are having fun. I think I’ll give it a swing the day after tomorrow <3
The problem is that I don't have an answer for you.  Maybe it helps if I describe my game play style to you.  When I get a quest, I pick whatever deck to get that done.  I always play in ranked but am more concerned with getting the quests done asap than winning.  Then I might play a game or two with the Paladin Deck we're talking about and do some testing with different builds.  Then I get off my phone and go back to life.  I might do this 2 or 3 times a week.  If anyone is expecting me to present some legend rank or something, I think you're uninformed.
you don't have an answer??? launch hearthstone, queue into a match, see what number is displayed in the bottom left corner, share with hearthpwn (or just take a screenshot and post it). That is currently your rank, and it is probably close to the rank you were playing at when you said you have this really unique paladin deck idea.
Or better yet, tell us what rank you ended for the last 3 seasons. This would definitely clarify at what ranks this deck might work.
I won't judge you if you say you are playing at rank 18, and your idea is still really unique, just probably won't see much use by the hearthstone community if it can't help people ladder up. Most people play the game to get to a certain rank on the ladder (mostly for rewards or bragging rights).
     I like your signature!
thanks! I still don't get why you won't share your rank though....even if you are rank 20, nothing to be embarrassed about, as you are just trying out a new deck idea.
FYI - I just played a slightly different version (with Tarim and Tirion, and a few more early game minions) and won 2 out of 3 at rank 5. Didn't even get to N'Zoth, just won by early presence and then abomination shenanigans on turns 6-10.

It goes infinite if you manage to get Apprentice or Radiant Elemental.

Could you imagine a Priest getting ahold of that card with the elemental, popping Raza and DK, and then going machine gun on you?
No different than the Raza, Coldarra Drake, Auchenai Soulpriest combo where you could cast your hero power infinite numbers of times (thanks to Coldarra with Raza enabling a 0 mana hero power). You can get Coldarra off Kabal Courier
