I don't like playing any of these hyper-aggressive decks, because they're so dependent on card draw. If you have a bad opening hand, you lose. If the opponent gets the right counters, you lose. If neither of those things happens, you win. But it is not as satisfying of a victory because a lot of the times it wasn't your decisions that won the game, but the fact that you drew better than your opponent.

posted a message on Is Gelbin Mekkatorque the least played card in HS?

You got the golden version if you bought packs or arena access around the end of the public beta. The golden one is labeled "promo" and cannot be crafted or disenchanted. The non-golden version can be crafted, but unless you've got almost all the cards already, there are many better ways to spend 1600 dust, so I don't think many people will have the non-golden version.

I've got a golden one from the beta and sometimes put it in RNG-heavy decks for fun. But the inventions are just as likely to screw you over as they are to help you.

The promo set is separate from the rewards set and it's the rewards set (Old Murk-Eye and Captain's Parrot) that gets merged into the Hall of Fame. Perhaps promo stays separate because it has different crafting rules.

I thought that Captain's Parrot would be less likely to be played, since it wasn't easy to acquire and is a pretty bad card, but it occurs in more decks than Mekkatorque does. However, those seem to be pirate themed decks from the time there weren't enough pirates to fill a deck.

(I'm seeing some JavaScript being appended to the post, which I certainly didn't type.)

    Quote from Xarang >>

Jade Druid is a ton of fun to play, but I think it is actually broken, which is bad for the game. It's either you play Jade Druid or a faster deck, which means control is basically dead. On the other hand, Combo Decks may find their way as a Jade counter. Miracle Rogue seems especially strong...

This is my concern: I was looking forward to playing highlander decks with the new cards and had a great match with highlander priest vs highlander mage already. But if Jade Druid is going to dominate the meta then I'll probably start to concede as soon as someone plays Jade Idol, just to save myself from 10 minutes of torture.
I tried Goons paladin, which seems promising. I even won a game using Goons as a warlock, thanks to Renounce Darkness. I also tried murloc paladin, but couldn't get it to work; I've never been successful with murlocs though so maybe I just don't understand them.
I played a bit of taunt warrior with Goon support. Not sure if taunt warrior is finally good enough, but it has certainly improved.
I made a discardlock deck with demons instead of the usual zoo components; a lot of the discard synergy cards are demons after all. But it was very hit and miss. The times I won were because buffed demons got out of control, so maybe there is potential in a pure demon deck.

posted a message on New Card - Weasel Tunneler

Could be good in a hand-buff deck with a lot of draw. Keep it in hand a few turns and it will have useful stats, but still a casting cost of 1. And for most opponents it will just remain a 1/1.

Using it as a counter to highlander decks is tricky, since it requires both your weasels to be drawn, played and killed (while not transformed or silenced) before the opponent draws the first weasel. And the opponent would always keep 1 weasel in hand to avoid further sabotage of the no-duplicates condition. It might work against Reno Jackson if you time it well (play both weasels shortly before your opponent is dangerously low on health), but for example Kazakus can be summoned early in the game and the spell used much later.

I have no idea how strong it is, but I think this is an awesome card.

As far as I remember, all previous expansions were released on Tuesdays. So that would make December 6th a more likely candidate.

If my calculations are correct, there is only a 0.43% chance of drawing the combo in your opening hand plus first turn if you go first, but a 11.4% chance if you go second. This assumes you have Edwin and two Counterfeit Coins in your deck and only care about maximizing the chance to draw the combo when you mulligan.

posted a message on How do I progress?

Start with setting realistic goals. If you don't have a lot of cards, don't expect to hit legend rank, but for example aim for rank 15 instead. While 15 out of 25 doesn't sound like much, that's already way above average.

Make sure you do daily quests and the weekly brawl to get more cards. If you have more time than quests, recycle low-gold quests to get better-paying ones.

There are "pity timers" that give you a higher chance to draw a legendary the longer you haven't drawn one. But there is a separate timer per pack type (classic, TGT, WOG), so you get a legendary sooner if you buy packs of a single type. However, not all legendaries are actually good cards, so don't over-focus on this, or you might be disappointed when you do draw one that is not so great.

Getting adventures might also be an option. While they're relatively expensive in gold, you do know in advance exactly which cards you'll receive. For example getting Karazhan will allow you to play discardlock, which is strong and doesn't rely on any epics or legends.

As Boldelar said, not all decks need expensive cards. A lot of the good legendaries have a high casting cost, so if you make a fast deck you wouldn't include them anyway since you'll have won or lost before you have the mana to summon them. There are also deck lists that may include legendaries that make them a bit stronger in certain situations, but don't rely on them to work, for example Harrison Jones. In general, most decks don't rely on any one card in them, since the deck still has to work if that card happens to be on the bottom of the pile.

If you want to improve a deck, make a little note for each game: what kind of opponent you played, whether you won or lost, on which turn and which cards (from you and your opponent) were most influential in the game. Also check the remaining cards in your hand at the end of a game: if the same cards sit there unused at the end of multiple games, you can consider replacing those.

Playing arena could also be an option, since then the size of your collection doesn't matter at all.

    Absolutely!

I'm specially curious to see Lifecoach's reveal!

At first i'd say soul link, but the more i see the picture the more i think it's some Cloning related Spell. Also a transform spell is high possilble, did you notice that day/night thing on the back?
Maybe it's a clone with attack/health reversed? Could be a spell or a battlecry like Faceless Manipulator. I think they said in an interview there would be more faceless cards.

It will see play just as much as Nourish I guess

Does Nourish see little play because it's bad or because Ancient of Lore is better? I think it might be the latter.

posted a message on Another dragon warrior deck

You could consider Drakonid Crusher: it's a dragon, it's good if played with its bonus and not terrible without it and you can sometimes get double bonus (12/12) from Brann. Also its bonus trigger conveniently uses the same life limit as Alexstrasza.

Ysera is great for late-game card draw; I wouldn't remove her.
