posted a message on Disturbing lack of Legendaries

The drop rate for legendaries has always seemed lower on the first day of a release.  I'm sure it's to "encourage" people to buy more packs.

I was fully prepared to buy at least one set of 40 packs today in addition to the 50 from the pre-order plus the 16 free ones (5 over the past couple of weeks, the 3 from today, and 8 I bought with gold).  But after opening just 1 legendary in those 66 packs, there is no way I am throwing more money down this drain.

It's standard practice that when businesses stop growing, they maintain profits by squeezing their best customers for more money.

posted a message on Rising from the ashes : what forgotten card will become viable with Un'goro ?

    Stonetusk Boar for Hunter

Maybe Kirin Tor Mage if Mage players look for a viable tempo deck without Flamewaker.

EDIT:  I should have added that it is way underhyped.  BEST HP EVER.

posted a message on Predict the tier of each class in upcoming Un'Goro meta

Once all the Gadgetzan cards were revealed, it was immediately obvious that Pirate Warrior, Dragon Priest, Jade Druid, and Kazakus decks would be the strongest decks on ladder.  I think the meta the past few months has been pretty much what we all expected - although maybe just a bit faster.

Any thoughts on what new Un'Goro decks might rule in Standard the next few months?  I really hope it isn't still Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid, but other than a few new anti-aggro tech cards, I don't see why that would change.  I hope the "experimentation stage" lasts longer this time before the meta settles down to 3-4 deck archetypes again.

EDIT:  What I mean is that the Pirate Warrior and Jade Druid decks are essentially the same now as what we thought they would be even before Gadgetzan was released.  Maybe a few cards changed here and there, but not much.  In contrast, I don't know what to expect over the next month.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Hemet, Jungle Hunter

Hey - at least they are coming up with some interesting ideas for cards.  It feels less like filler and more like the core of a very niche deck.

posted a message on Before I just pack it in...

I feel for the OP.  Some people just grasp the game and can make legend all the time with just about any decent deck, while others struggle to climb with even the top tier decks.  I admit that I am in the second category.  I have played for almost 2 years and couldn't even get past rank 5 with Midrange Shaman last fall.

I would encourage people to be more understanding - everyone has different skills in life.  I have plenty of education and have a demanding job so I'm not a total idiot, but I just suck at strategy games like chess and Hearthstone lol.  The key is to find a way to make the game fun, like making unique decks.

EDIT: Most people on this thread have been super understanding and supportive, even offering to help.  I just see comments on other threads bashing people who "can't even make legend with Pirate Warrior, etc".

posted a message on What Paladin Un'goro Legendary should have been

Like a 6 mana 5/5 that lets you Adapt your Silver Hand Recruits for the rest of the game.  Only those generated via the hero power - not summoned via other means like spells.  This is kindof what Justicar does to the Shaman hero power - you get to choose the totem.

    Thoughts?

posted a message on New Priest Quest Card - Awaken the Makers

I can't wait to play a Priest that finally gets his 7th Deathrattle minion out, gets Amara in his hand as a reward, and then I kill him before he can play her.

posted a message on Hall of Fame Idea - Class Spells

So I love the idea of moving certain cards out of Classic.  The 3 neutrals were perfect - I might have liked seeing a few more, but it's a good start.

This post is about the class spells.  They are moving 3 out of Classic, but I wish they had moved one spell for all 9 classes.  Now the Classic sets for Mage, Rogue, and Warlock all have one less card than the other classes.  I know, big deal - but I'm anal about my collection.  (It still bugs me that Hunter got 2 legendaries in The Grand Tournament because now they have one more legendary than all the other classes.)

These are the cards I would have suggested be moved from Classic to Hall of Fame for each class:  (Since the 3 that are actually moving are 1-mana Common spells, I tried to stick to that, but suggested other options that are the real problem cards.)

Druid:  Naturalize - Cheapest hard removal in the game, but with a huge downside.  (Other option: Make Force of Nature playable again and move that instead.)

Hunter:  They don't have a 1-mana Common spell, so either Bestial Wrath (1-mana spell) or Unleash the Hounds (most OP Common spell).  Even though Face Huntard isn't as much of a problem anymore, my memories of the ugly old days make me want to get rid of UTH.

Mage:  Ice Lance - I agree with Blizzard on this one.  (Ice Block is another option, but 8 damage for 2 mana is the real problem.)

Paladin:  Redemption - This was the least problematic secret that Mysterious Challenger would proc, because it almost always brought back the 2/1 Defender.  The T9 play of Redemption + Tirion Fordring is so frustrating, though.  (Other option: Divine Favor)

Priest:  Inner Fire - Let's get rid of the cheese Inner Fire deck, please?  If Blizzard wants to reduce OTK decks, this would take care of one of them.  (Other option:  Get rid of the annoying Auchenai Soulpriest combo by moving Circle of Healing.)

Rogue:  Conceal - Totally agree with Blizzard on this.  Cloaking minions like Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Questing Adventurer, and a big Edwin VanCleef is not very interactive.  (Other option: Make Blade Flurry playable again and move that instead.)

Shaman:  Lightning Bolt - This would knock the Aggro Shaman decks down a notch.  (Other option: Feral Spirit.)

Warlock:  Again, totally agree with the move of Power Overwhelming.  It was abused in every deck archetype.  (Other option: Shadowflame.)

Warrior:  Like Hunter, they don't have a 1-mana Common spell, so maybe Inner Rage, since it a cheap Common.  (Other option: Upgrade! - it is a 1-mana spell and would slow down Aggro Warrior a bit.)

    What do you all think?

The other major flaw is that it is way too slow to play.
