As for OP everything's been said already, open a reasonable bunch of standard packs so you'll have an easier time filling in the gaps for a good deck from other expansions.
It's always amusing when people say ' it's not worth ' as if you're entitled to decide to what ratio someone's time is worth less than a set amount of money.
I've been climbing with big hunter. Somewhere like 30-15 ish. Can't remember exact stats as I'm on phone but the point of the post is to keep you gamers enthusiastic about climbing. You can reach legend with almost any deck.
As for OPs question don't spend resources on something that's still in the air if you'll be using or not. Play decks you think can win until you can't win anymore then come back to it.
The very definition of inconsistency is reducing your chance to draw any given card by 50%. Just because you've drawn well in your last games doesn't mean it's more consistent than other decks of the same archtype.

Yes. It's entirely and utterly useless and anti-gamewinning to get your 16/16 one turn later. Dust it and don't look back.

5 mana for 3 mana worth is less good (worse) ((not better)) than 4 mana 6 mana worth, OP. Hope this helps your i-cant-basic syndrome.

No one wanted that. That's a terrible change.
