I really want to get into wild, but I am scared I am missing lots of cards from Goblins and Tournament. Please advise, standard is too boring for me now (all the paladins...)
Do you only want to play meta? Its really not worth buying GvG and TGT packs, You can just get them all for only a few dust, the ones used on meta at least.
Theres like only 2 legendaries that are used from GvG and TGT, Aviana (Druid) and Malganis (Warlock). Dr. Boom and Justicar are very rarely used.
For epic its probably just quartermaster and mysterious challenger, and that is only if you wanna play paladin. Lightbomb for priest and Clockwork Giant if you wanna play naga sea witch decks.
Everything else is just mostly commons and few rares, which would only probably add up to 10-20 cards.
As a wild player i can tel lyou that yo udont need 95% of wild only legend cards.. I rarely use some of them for testing... only card am using in lot of decks is Loatheb
Every deck has only 30 cards. Many of these slots can be filled with your standard cards. The few remaining slots can easily be crafted. Depending on the deck you want to play, it might even no cost too much.
wild has a way lower "skill" level than standard, so you should do fine with a weaker deck as well.
however, prepare to get annoyed. like a lot. highrolling naga giant decks and big priests will make sure of that.
other than that, it's flooded with paladins.
Standard player talking about wild haha...please dude... In standard there is more noobs then wild....when i play wild i rarely see missplays, in standard when i spectate my friend almost every second turn is missplay ;) you are talking about skill....skill and competition isnt the same...yes in standard you have 10x more competition but not 10x higher skill level xd or i didnt understand what you mean by skill? Sory if i didnt get it :)
Could you be a bit more precise about what you need help?
When did you start? Which adventures do you have? What kind of decks do you enjoy?
For me I play Standard for ladder and try hard and Wild for fun and diversity. I play since two years, so there weren't too many cards I missed especially as I enjoy Mill Rogue the most.
If you played at all before the current standard rotation and have stuff from mean streets, karazhan and old gods ALOT of those cards are played in wild, a good majority of older sets such as GVG and TGT very few cards are played. Unless you want to play like mech something pretty much all those cards are rare or common. LOE gave us naga sea witch and reno jackson and whole lot of fun interesting cards, oh our favorite murloc Sir Murlgton. Naxx most of the rares and commons see play, Loatheb and FRINGE play Kel thuzad and the Twins. Honestly Wild allows you to play whatever you want with decent success, not really TRAPPED to play meta.
Thanks for all the comments! I might craft Valeera the Hollow for the mill deck, I enjoy playing them, might try Genn. Warlock is a bit too expensive I miss quite a lot of classic cards for him too.
The very definition of inconsistency is reducing your chance to draw any given card by 50%. Just because you've drawn well in your last games doesn't mean it's more consistent than other decks of the same archtype.

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
As for OPs question don't spend resources on something that's still in the air if you'll be using or not. Play decks you think can win until you can't win anymore then come back to it.

The goal of all life is death.
To get into wild you need to spend money. But you will still see paladin
Just play it yourself.
You will notice that the impact of old Wild legendaries is far inferior to what you think.
You can easily equip with common and rare cards, and already notice you are on par with most of the opponents.

Also paladins are still a thing on wild tho.

The post above already listed some top cards. Other ones might include Aya Blackpaw or Emperor Thaurissan .
Edit: Because I forgot: Loatheb
I would say the cards from GvG and TGT won't matter much in the current meta.
If the do, they are often commons and rares, easily craftable.
And a lot of the Tier 1 and 2 decks (according to Tempostorm) are actually not that expensive.
I'm having a blast with some sort of Combo Priest & Dragon Priest both cost around 3k dust.
Nope.

Do or do not. There is no try.
Inconsistent? Have you ever even tried playing a Reno deck? If not, your comment is worthless.

paladins / warlocks are worst than standart u can imagine they access all the broken card pool u may regret
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.

Idk if you know but odd Paladin has muster for battle and quartermaster in wild so... good luck with that.
