    posted a message on How many of your Un'Goro predictions were wrong?

    My only really big miss was rating Stonehill Defender as bad. I did not think about the interaction with class cards and underestimated the effect of slowing down aggro. Other misses are just small over- and underestimations of deck power.

    posted a message on Tracking More Than 500 Wins? Coming Soon to a Hearthstone Near You

    I think there is a failure in your understanding instead. What he is saying is that they did not want to track above 500 as it would prevent them from adding rewards in the future and they wanted to keep that option open. Whether or not players asked for rewards is irrelevant as it is Blizzard that wanted to keep the option open themselves.

    Just give less dust?

    Blizz can't just reduce the dust value of wild cards without invoking a mass exodus from wild of people that don't want to lose value. In theory they could make only new cards have less value, but this would make the system confusing and require special tracking and a re-design of the dust system. The alternative would be to lower the dust values and give everyone dust equal to the value lost. This is easy and fair, but costly for blizzard as they'd be giving away a lot of free dust.

    I think Control Medivh Priest will be a high tier deck with the Free From Amber 8 mana card and Mind Control. Just through in a few taunts and silence tech cards and you got a stew going.

     With all the hate for pirates I'm worried Atiesh won't survive long enough to make an impact. Maybe if people don't run double ooze.

    posted a message on So, what is Priest's problem and what do they need?

    I think the Priest quest suffers from two problems. The first is that Deathrattles are sub-par right now. We're no longer living the high life with Piloted ShredderSludge Belcher, and Sylvanas Windrunner. You can't really get everything you need and also do deathrattle, so it's a significant sacrifice. The second is that the reward is only good against aggro and some mid-range as it doesn't generate continuous value. It also isn't very pro-active. It does little if you're fighting over board control rather than life and doesn't threaten combo decks much.

    posted a message on What's wrong with netdecking ?

    I think the problem with netdecking is that hearthstone isn't built to handle it.

    Since with every expansion there are only a few optimal paths available netdecking swiftly reduces the entire meta to those few optimal paths. Then there is only a small space left for creativity to try and counter the current meta. If hearthstone had more viable avenues of success and/or more flexibility at the end of those optimal paths the game would not become as stale because of netdecking.

    Because there is a big difference between tournaments and ladder. In tournaments you fight against a very limited amount of specialized decks. On ladder you fight against the average of the HS community. Also there is a big difference between a pro player making something work against a potentially worse opponent and joe average trying to make it work in an equal fight on ladder.

    posted a message on New Priest Card Reveal: Mana Geode

    You say that as if that's the only possible good outcome. How about:

    1 - Aggro: 1-Drop || Priest: Coin + Geode

    2 - Aggro: (No removal) Hit Face + 2-Drop || Priest: Kill 1-Drop + Hero Power

    Now the Aggro player has a 2-Drop that might even die to the 2/2 on the board and the Priest still has a Geode with a big effect and card advantage. Compare that to the average Priest 2-Drop right now and that seems pretty good to me. Also the effect is big enough to actually warrant attention later in the game.

    posted a message on Most misplayed cards that you have seen

    The biggest misplays I've seen recently have been against mage secrets. I've had my Counterspell block a Flamestrike while the opponent still had The Coin(secret came from Mad Scientist). But the most common and obvious misplays happen against Mirror Entity as you can see from their reaction when the secret pops that they didn't expect it.

    posted a message on [TGT] Sister's/Buff Shaman

    I like the idea you are going for here with the buff cards and spare parts combined with dark/lightbane. However I see this deck being completely destroyed by aggro. I currently have a silly combo shaman I play for fun from time to time and it notably has two Crackles + a Lightning Storm + two Zombie Chows extra. It also runs one Nerubian Egg to combo with Reincarnate early game and a Defender of Argus to taunt up against aggro and midrange. Now if you can pull off some dark/lightbane combo's reasonably consistently and have them stick around for a turn you might not need quite that much, but still more then you have now I'd say.

    Also worth mentioning is that you are "missing" Fire Elementals. They really help against midrange and control decks. And if you are going to run Reincarnate consider a second Piloted Shredder instead of a Mechanical Yeti.

    That Quest Giver seems really OP.

    You get the average of the mana at which you play it plus a 1/1. So you could get something like a Clockwerk Gnome + Quest Giver + Whisp on turn 1.

    On top of that you can fill in any turn even partially. Which means that you not only have a card that is appropriate for every turn, but also a guarantee to spend all your mana on that turn. This flexibility seems the most ridiculous. It won't win out against a prepared card of the same mana cost, but one less than perfect play and the value flips the other way.

    I do love the concept of it though, but maybe it needs a bigger downside.

    Entry #1:

    I really like the concept of this, but I think there are a few issues with the implementation:

    1. It is way more effective against certain classes then others. Classes that can't cheaply remove or buff the Orb('s) have a big disadvantage.(Unless they can force you to remove it with AoE.) You can destroy rogue weapons with their hero ability.

    2. Potential for very cheesy play with brewmasters or stolen echo's.

    Not sure how powerful this would actually be. Freezing is crazy good on single target threats, but it costs you 2 mana each turn to do so on top of the tempo loss for playing the card. If it's too powerful as a permanent buff, it might be worth putting on a 6 mana creature so you can regain board control later and fill the 6 mana gap.

    posted a message on Hearthstone Developer Interview with Mike Donais and Jayson Chayes, Yong Woo on Deck Slots

    Given the amount of classes and the fact that there are multiple archetypes, it doesn't make sense to me that they would put such a low limit on the amount of decks you can have. Hell currently even if you only have one deck per class you still don't have a deckslot free to experiment with. If you want to put a limit on it, make it 18 or 27 so you can have multiple decks per class.
