posted a message on Are there any decks that are considered Midrange (besides Hunter )in ROS?

A midrange deck makes it's big plays and big tempo minions in the midgame.. This is Turns 4-9. Usually before each player as all 10 mana.

The subtypes of midrange decks are

    • Curve(stone) decks- The deck plays a tempo minion from turns 3-9 in an attempt to overwhelm removal and push damage.

Mech hunter, Bomb Hunter, Beast Hunter. Mech Paladin.

    • True Token Decks- Plays a lot of tokens in the midgame and buffs them when they stick

    Token Druid. Token Shaman.

    • Midgame Shenanigans Decks- Does something to cheat out a big minion in the midgame.

    Conjuer Mage, Silence Priest

posted a message on the hunter fiasco

Well you gotta remember that the hunter based meta had 4 didn't hunter archetypes.

And you gotta remember that 3 of the Hunter decks were jokes and meme decks that  were constantly buff over several expansions and we're underpowered to the point of going over 18 months without nerfs.

Deathrattle Hunter was unplayable until Paladin was nerfed twice. Spell hunter relied on a warped meta to shine. Beast Hunter was bad until RR. Secret Hunter was not a powerhouse alone until a bunch of decks got nerfed.

It most was a fluke. A perfect storm of one class have 4 tier 2, 3, and 4 decks sitting in the background and avoiding nerfs because it wasn't close to top tier. All due to the designers purposefully keeping broken cards out one class for years.

Anybody thinking this is lazy or boring is DRASTICALLY underestimating the set rotation itself. There are over 400 cards just *poof* out of standard.

But that's not the expansion. That's the rotation,

The issue is some people are more hyped for the rotation than the next expansion. Blizzard should not want this.

The low amount of revealed cards and the uneven spread of revealed cards has seriously dampered my hype.

I mostly play play Hunter, Paladin, and Mage and only have 2 cards to look at: one of which is 99% chance to be trash and neither having major class themes. I'm bored already.

This reveal stream better not have trash. I could easily not preorder.

In first set of the year past, I was speculating on possible quests or Old gods or Odd/even decks or the new rush mechanic. All we have now is speculation of a slot-in Dr Boom warrior legendary or a Togwaggle that could be terrible or memey like 75% of rogue legendaries.

If you don't want to pre order then don't, it's not a huge deal and as with any expansion or dlc, some will want to, some won't. If you personally find whatever they release 'trash' then that's your prerogative.

If you restrict yourself to 3 classes, you're causing your own issues.

I am saying that Blizzard is not hitting all their demographics. People who are hyped now would be hyped for anything.

If you want dat money cash cheddar cheese, you gotta appeal to a broad demo.

You need to reveal a Spike card, a Johnny card, a Timmy card, an aggro card, a mid-range card, a control card, a combo card.... a Druid card, a Hunter card.... a Warrior card  etc etc well before release.

Or the unhyped might spend their money elsewhere. Especially if this is the first expansion of the year.

Rise of Shadows feels like an August expansion. Many People are more hyped about the rotation than the expansion. That's not good.

It's less lazy and more uninspired

Look at the other first sets o' the year.

Look Out. It's the Old Gods. Giant 10 mana build around win conditions!!

Watch out! Legendary Quests! Complete the quest for an amazing reward! One for each class!! Adapt or Die!!

Were we go! Odd and Even decks! Build your deck in a certain way to get a hero power upgrade or discount! Plus Rush and Echo!!!

here's rafaam again. he's gonna steal stuff with togwaggle and dr boom. ummm he turns your removal into Gruul.

At least tell us what they are stealing!!!  Or reveal 1 paladin card!!

Rafaam gets all the magic dalaran spheres to complete the goofball glove which turns half the worlds population into hearthstone cards.

This feels more Challenge of the Superfriends that Infinty War

Rafaam: What more do you need?

Dr Boom: How about a fancy hat?

    Rafaam: What?!

Hagatha: Reno and Finely have them? Swampwitch Hagatha want one too!

Dr. Boom: With a fancy hat, Dr. Boom will crush the Defenders of Dalaran.

    Hagatha: CRUSH THEM!

posted a message on Is It Really "The Genn AND Baku Problem"?
    Quote from RendInFriend >>

Genn and Baku aren’t the problem, it’s the power level of the even and odd cards in the deck. Blizz needs to remove all cards with either an even or odd cost and the game will be balanced.

     It's not a power problem.

    It's a staleness problem.

Odd and Even decks are just old decks from Vanilla with the hero powers cranked up. It's Shockladin, Midrange Paladin, Handlock, Aggro Burn Mage, Control Mage, Midrange Shaman, Aggro Rogue etc just with souped up Hero powers.

So it's old decks with extra power that we've all seen and will keep seeing forever. No special themes. No new gimmicks. Just just a couple strong boring decks in the top meta.

More nerfs are coming.  Not for balance reasons.  But because they need to make sure this game forces players into the pay to win mindset.

The main reason they are nerfing/banning cards is because they decided to make Basic/Classic evergreen. However, Basic/Classic wasn't designed to be evergreen. It was designed to be a complete, self-contained set. As such, it's power level is way too high to be evergreen in most respects.

When the game outgrew it's initial design, they had to make some hard decisions. While hindsight shows that they probably made the wrong choice in keeping Basic/Classic "evergreen," I can understand why that decision was made.

But because they decided to go that route, they are left having to course correct with a number of patchwork responses. That's what these nerfs/bans are.

Rank 50 players. AKA the mobile strategy.

lizzard wants new and returning players to have full decks. But nerfing but not rotating Classic/Basic Joey the Newbie and Johnny Returner can still create Ramp Druid, Midrange Shaman, and Tempo Mage. All the cards are available and no Xs on their decks. And budget decks are available online for them.

They just won't beat anyone past rank 20. Their decks are too weak. In order to go past rank 20, you will need to buy or grind packs for Better Equality and Hunter's Mark 2.0. It's every collectable monster-evolution mobile game's strategy: You can beat Bronzes F2P. Silvers could be beaten if you are good. But to beat anyone in the Gold or better league you need to grind everyday or play. And you betterhope your deck isn't too good while relying of Classic card or it will be nerfed and you might have to start over.

The main differences between HS and P2W mobile games are that HS still wants people to afford it somewhat and aren't designing the game purely for profits. If cheap decks happen, they are allowed to roam free unless oppressive. That's why Hunter only took a minor nerf.

posted a message on The real meaning behind "uninteractive"

"Uninteractive" refer to your deck's win condition

Clearing boards over and over doesn't matter. What matters is that the card the deck uses to win can be interacted with before they do their jobs.

    Quote from Kaladin >>

You're confusing relative strength with absolute strength.  Because something else is stronger does not make the thing weaker.

Deathstalker Rexxar was weak all of 2017.

    It only was strong after

    Pirate warrior rotated

Kazakus Priest Warlock, and Mage rotated

    Murloc Paladin rotated

    Jade decks rotated

    Cubelock got nerfed

    Odd Paladin got nerfed

    Even Paladin got nerfed

All 7+ Druid decks got nerfed

    Shudderwock Shaman got nerfed

    Quest Rogue was nerfed again

    Kingsbane Rogue got nerfed

Deathstalker Rexxar's absolute strength isn't that high. It's that most of the other decks rotated or were nerfed and dropped under it.
