posted a message on New Card - Nat, the Darkfisher

I don't get why people are calling this bad.

If you are playing a mill deck, or even some fatigue decks, this is nearly the best 2 drop you can get.

It's not like they can leave him alive to get the "benefit" of the draw, cause he's got stats. An opponent not killing him, to get draw, would be about as useful as playing the original Nat Pagle for the draw.

He may not fit in every deck. But in the decks he does fit, he is practically the best card that you can get for 2 mana.

    4/5 - Very good

Of course the one minion that is essentially unchanged from the nerfs is Knife Juggler.

NOT HARD ENOUGH BLIZZ. You were supposed to break his legs with that nerf bat, get in touch with your inner Harding.

I mean, is this even a nerf? All the bad shit he does, all the reasons that people hate this minion are still here. All the decks that wanted to play him will still play him, zero hesitation since his nerf is such a feather tap.

A lot of the other nerfed cards got messed up bad, some might not see play ever again, or atleast will see significantly less play.  But not Knife Juggler, zero change. Will be played as much after the nerf as he was before. Balance is faliure.

posted a message on Where will pally be in WOG?

It seems like Blizzard is really pushing two deck types for Paladin this expansion: Control and Flood/Token/Inspire. Love em both.

    Control

I really hope this is the strongest new Paladin deck. Ragnaros, Lightlord is looking awesome for this deck, and Forbidden Healing looks like it could fit in Reno Paladin.

    Token/Inspire

I really want this deck to work. Stand Against Darkness could be great for this deck. Not a super powerful card, but in this deck it could work. Not all cards can be homeruns, and this is a pretty cool minor card. When INspire first arrived, people were considering Silver Hand Knight for flood decks, and if there is ANY Recruit synergy, this card is probably better on 5 mana than Silver Hand Knight.

They pushed this deck in TGT but failed by Silver Hand Regent being too weak. Once again Steward of Darkshire being too weak to play on curve will ruin this deck. A little more understandable since Steward can be used in pure AGGRO decks, which I feel is not the intention for this card, but all the more reason for why Silver Hand Regent should have been a 2/4. Or to design the card for only non-aggro decks, like SHR was.

Just give us the useful 3 drop needed to build this deck around.

Flamewaker - 3 mana 2/4. The text protects itself, if there ever was a card that shouldn't be a 2/4 this is it. Silver Hand Regent and Steward of Darkshire have to combo just to get a board and still be weak to board clears while you wait another turn to actually use the tokens. Flamewaker text is also much, MUCH easier to activate, than a once per turn, weak, tempo losing, 2 mana Hero Power.

Imp Gang Boss - Another card that begs the question: Why the hell are the Paladin 3 drops 3/3 instead of 2/4? Imp Gang Boss, guaranteed to eat a silence or be 3/5+ of stats for only 3 mana. Way too much value to get for simply playing it on curve, no requirements.

Seriously makes no sense. The cards that don't need to stick around to use the text have great health. The cards that absolutely need to stick to get any use of the text are weak, making them bad cards, cause they don't have an immediate impact, and can't stick around to make any impact. I really like the idea of this deck. Give it to us or stop teasing it.

    Murloc Flood

I feel this deck plays very similar to the Token/Flood deck. Continually flood the board with weaklings and eventually some will stick, however I feel the Morloc version is the aggro, early draw dependent deck, while the Token Silver Hand Recruit version is the more midrange/controlling version.

Vilefin Inquisitor is great for this deck. As someone who actually played the Murloc Flood deck before the charge combo, I can say Hero Powering a SHR was always the worst, and even once or twice could lose you the game. Now that they will be Murlocs, this deck might actually have a chance. Though since it is such an early game combo, it will probabaly never be all that consistent, similar to mech mage. But a great fun deck to see supported even if it isn't all that competitive.

    OLD DECKS

I actually like that the cards we have seen don't seem to support any of the current Paladin decks. Nothing to help aggro, maybe Steward, but I really think people are overestimating her. Nothing helps the Secret Paladin, or Murloc Charge Combo. Nothing for Midrange decks, which in all honesty no deck should be Midrange without some other theme to restrict it. Just having best on curve in every mana slot does not a fun deck make.

Early Game / Owl / BGH

The only problem I'm seeing is our early game is terrible, which is why pre-GvG paladin was so bad. And if they remove Owl and BGH, Paladins are going to hurt more from that than other classes. Owl and BGH are practically Spells for Paladin. Paladin has been SO EXTREMELY NEGLECTED in the removal / spell category, that minions with effects are our spells. And we still haven't seen any early game to replace Shielded Minibot or Muster for Battle. Where is our control 1 drop? Vilefin is for 1 deck only.

If the last 4 cards aren't an amazing early game minion, recruit synergy, decent weapon, a mage-level damage spell, and/or some decent removal, it might just end up being the same as pre-GvG: Too weak of an early game to compete with anything.

    LOE vs WOG

Also just an outside observation: LOE had 2/45 cards with RNG elements and that is why it is considered the best set of cards they have ever released. Already this set has 15 last time I checked, around 25% of the set is RNG. NOT LOOKING GOOD.

Couldn't be happier for the direction and the deck themes they are pushing on Paladin, but the last 4 cards better be balls to the walls amazing or Paladin will be unplayable.

Seriously needs some early game and single target any type of removal/damaging spell, and needs card draw, and a weapon. They need more things than cards available to be revealed. Looking grim.

Paladin dont deserve any good new cards.

Why? Cause they have currently top tier decks? It doesn't mean the class has to die..
No, but they have the most miserable frustrating top tier decks, and the operative is the plural. They have top tier decks, some of the most efficient removal, and the best class legendary in the game. They have so many misery inducing bullshit cards, They've had their time far too long, they were and still are more cancerous than grim patron ever could've been, and paladins, along with their mysterious cocksucker, needs to be deleted. Literally no other class is as miserable to play against. Literally none. Whats worse, is blizzard actually doesn't care about the players, and so wild will become a secret cuntadin fuckfest of fuckery, as they're just gonna keep giving them better secrets. So yes. The class has to die. Let shaman or rogue have a go at the top tier. Fuck paladins to hell where they belong.

Paladin has 0 Tier 1 decks at the moment. Everything Paladin has is easily counterable, and they haven't even been nerfed yet.

Most effecient removal? That's laughable. Paladins have the worst removal of all 9 classes and everyone knows it.

Paladins are also probably being hit hardest by formats also. Go try and find tournament play from pre-GvG era with Paladins. Almost unfindable, I used to watch just for the Paladins and many tournaments didn't even have Paladins because they were generally regarded as the worst of the 9.

Even Midrage deck wasn't that strong, a few weeks after release and it got hard countered. Secret Paladin, down to Tier 2 without any nerfs, and they are coming. Anyfin down to Tier 2 or worse and nerfs are coming. No Paladin deck is currently above Tier 2 and all the current Paladin decks are getting nerfed hard.

Another shitty 3 mana 3/3 that will ruin the Flood deck they have been trying to push for 2 expansions now.

Paladins have a good curve and that is all. Even with the "best curve" it is still easily countered because that is ALL they have. Thta's why the "OP" Secret Paladin deck is down to Tier 2. It was always easily counterable if people just got their heads out of their asses and played the available counters. All Paladin decks are easily counterable if you have a brain cause they only do one predictiable thing, play on curve, non-reactive, they have no burst, worst removal, pretty much no other option.

I just leave it like this. How does Secret Paladin go from Tier 1 to Tier 2 with no nerfs? No changed cards, no new sets released? Answer is that it was never OP, people just learned how to play. If anything people should be thanking Secret Paladin for enlightenting them to some real card play, as opposed to what they were previously doing: just playing on-curve decks with all classes and then crying how one on-cuve deck isn't as good as some other on-curve deck.

N'Zoth's First Mate is a pretty strong Aggro card.

I will say that N'Zoth's First Mate is probably the strongest card yet released. Can't believe more Warriors aren't excited for it. I fully expect atleast one to be in every Warrior deck till it gets rotated out of standard. This one card is aggro as hell, and I don't see how an aggressive one drop slipped by them. Seems like a GvG card, the stats are way too good for an on-curve play, and a 1 drop at that.
The whole rest of the set though seems like almost all control, which is nice. But then again, it does only take one aggressive deck to make all control decks unplayable. Please don't fuck it up again Blizz. They better have a saftey net built for when Face Warrior gets out of control. Warrior has been dominate all the way from alpha/beta til now, don't really see why they are getting the best 1 drop in the game.
Just about to move into standard and who owns half the Tier 1 decks? Warrior. Control Warrior and Patron Warrior dominating as always.

    Awesome new card art.

It's turtles all the way down.

Three turtles of varying sizes stacked on top of each other with the largest at the bottom

Or maybe just the beginning of a hundred turtle stack.

posted a message on What is the future of Paladin in Standard?

I'm guessing it's time for Paladin to finally receive a decent single target removal / damage spell.

If not, they will have to give Paladin a bunch more best, on-curve cards in many mana slots.

Seems like people are sick of that. Paladin players don't want to play on-curve tempo/aggro, and people playing against Paladin are sick of it too.

No one wants Paladin to be an aggro class.

Just give us the removal already and make Paladin a control class.

posted a message on Why do people HATE secret Paladin?
    Quote from TheWamts >>

Because they want to feel intellectually superior to the people playing the top-tier deck, but get irrationally mad when they lose to it.

This is probably the most accurate reason.
Either that or they claim Secret Paladin is an Autopilot deck because their other autopilot decks can't beat it.
When it comes down to it, if Secret Paladin is such a braindead deck, and these people complaining about it are bastions of intellect, then why don't they play the obvious control counters?
The answer is because they also want to play braindead decks, aka almost every deck since Naxx. Secret Paladin is no worse than any of the others we've had, it's just the most recent.
Ben Brode and the Numbers confirm, it is not the most played deck, not even 20% of the meta, and it certainly does not have the highest winrate.
Anyone complaining about SP is as braindead as the players they accuse, if not more.

posted a message on Why do folks hate priest so much??

The class should be called: Thief

They are hated cause they are kleptomaniacs.

If they actually focused on Priest things, like Healing and buffing, it would probably be my second favorite class.

But alas, they are not Priests, they are Thiefs.

I was just asking because some of the streamers mentioned they used secret pala for climbing to 5 and then went along with tempo mage....

    But we will see

    :)

    Thx all

This is actually probably the best plan, as it is not that great of a deck. It does not autopilot to Legend. The counters have hit the board and tons of current decks give it problems. Pros use whats best, there is a reason they stop at 5, and switch to a better deck.
No one wanted to believe me but the new doo-wop group, Ben Brode and the Numbers, confirm:
"You hear things online like ‘Secret Paladin is played in 80% of games’ or something, and we look and it’s not even a quarter of that many, and we’re like ‘OK, there are other decks played more often than this, there are other decks with higher win rates than this, is this really what we want to be nerfing?"

Sorry, BM doesn't bother me and I don't accept (or make) friend requests just after games.

You shouldn't let it bother you either. In the main most players are respectful 'hello, well played'.

It kinda does bother me that peope think just because they are on the internet they can behave like assholes!
Common misconception is that it is Internet related. Most people are assholes in real life aswell. All you have to do to be an asshole is not consider how your actions affect others, or put yourself before others. When you really think about it, most people are.
EDIT: And I voted no. Reports is not the answer. Two options: Get tougher skin, or fix the world's problems,

    1. People don't know nerf=making worse?

I guess that would make sense. I mean the term comes from Nerf, the foam everything from the 90s. Kids don't play outside anymore, and probably have never asked a parent for a nerf gun or super soaker for their birthday, why would they know what "to nerf" means, when they have no idea what Nerf is. I think me and my college roomates had more nerf items in our apartment, than kids these days have.
The times, they are a changing.

posted a message on Does anyone else find it offending when people use the term "cancer" for hearthstone?
    Quote from johnnycentral1 >>

I have had family  members with cancer, and I just find it gross that people throw the term around for a digital card game. You cant use your brain to find another term or word for annoying decks?

Every other thread some imbecile uses it in their post and it pisses me off. You shouldnt be throwing it around how it is around here. I know I cant control what you post, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had this thought as well.

Both my grandfathers died of cancer. One had brain cancer, went through chemo, and wasn't even himself the last year of his life. That sure was sad to watch, but the phrase, it has never offended me. Mainly cause it isn't offensive. Shit happens, everyone dies. Maybe insensitive, but only as insensitive as you are being thin-skinned. Toughen up, solider.
Also maybe realize that when they say cancer, they are not referring to your specific relatives, or anyone's, it's a phrase.
I'm not trying to be insensitive. One of these grandparents, I used to cry everytime I left him when I was younger, and he was the grandparent I AM(not was) closest to. I carry him in my heart, and he lives forever due to me carrying on his spirit and the way of life that only a farmboy from the 1920s can teach you. I still have all his stories in my head, and the knowledge he passed to me. In that way, he never dies.
What anyone esle says is irrelevant.

posted a message on Hearthstone Emotes in Overwatch!, Deck Spotlight: Chaos Control Hunter v2, Worlds Beyond Warcraft Phase IV Voting

    Dear Blizzard,

Here are the 3 changes that you can make that will make your proposed Standard changes better or atleast much more well received.

    1. Sell GvG packs (and Naxx ADV) for an additional 4 months, minimum. (You should have told your customers well in advance, since you have failed to do so, it is only fair to offer the packs for longer. Truthfully they should be left in for a whole year, but we know logic evades Blizz employees. I'd imagine you will offer 20 extra days and then claim to be gods. No one will care next year since we know in advance, but you should refrain from screwing your customers this year.)
    2. Buff a few cards. Perfect first year candidates: Unplayed Neutral Legendaries. (I can understand wanting to spread out the changes over a few years, but to not buff anything this first year is frustrating at the very least. Set a precedent now. Save a few class buffs for year 2 and then maybe a few neutral buffs for year 3, or vice versa, but buff something for the first year.)
    3. Add 1 card to the permanent Standard rotation every year. (Seems like there are a few cards that are just too unique to be lost to the sands of time. This year I think most would agree that it should be Loatheb. You should just Enshrine him, in a new "Enshrine" set that is always part of Standard, or add him to the Reward set or something. It will feel worse to reprint him or a new card with the same/similar effect. If you go the reprint rount instead of Enshrine, it will only make people call you lazy, incompetent, money grubbing, or all three. And they will be right.)

Other than that Standard seems great. Can't wait for the big slow down. Great that pre-GvG Hearthstone will be back. Just don't print more Boom/Shredder.
