I'm currently 4-1 against DH, so clearly there is a way.
If they already have Aldrachi on the board, the 8 atk spell in their hand, double Slices, Metamorphosis already in play, and trigger their HP, that is exactly 20. Previously aggro decks have done triple Leroy for 18, Force of Nature + Savage Roar is 15, Bloodlust is up to 21. Burst damage is not that unusual.
And the best thing is, he can't spread it out, or play anything else the turn he does it, which means literally all you need to do is drop a Khartut or freeze his face and you win because he's out of cards. One of my wins I literally decked out the DH.
And they don't have any more heals than Priest or Warrior do, unless they want to waste that 20 damage healing themselves. Normally they'd get about 20-25 heals, back when Spectral Cutlass Rogue existed I was getting upwards of 50 points a game. Run an Ooze. Or Harrison.
Playing 3 or 4 games that you lost because you dont know their cards yet doesn't make them OP. There's a learning curve. They're definitely strong, but it's way too early to say whether they are OP or not.
The issue isn't that they have more heals than Priest, or bigger combos than aggro decks in previous metas. It's that they currently have the most powerful card draw in the game, they bypass taunts, they have great healing in their aggro decks, they have fantastic board removal, and they have insanely strong midrange cards.
With literally EVERY OTHER CLASS, they trade off their healing and card draw for damage, or they trade off their burst for sustain. Demon Hunters have ALL OF IT. They're currently the only class in the game who can draw out their entire deck by turn 8, while also controlling the board.
And FYI, all of those 20+ damage combos were nerfed. Force of Nature was reworked, Leeroy was put into hall of fame, Shamans haven't had ANYTHING to pair with Bloodlust for a long time. No idea why you're bringing them up as if they're Blizzard's greatest achievements in balance.
The class will 100% be nerfed in the next two weeks. Every other class went through a LOT of balance iterations in the beta, and Demon Hunter should go through the same iterations. For example, who at Blizzard decided to print the set with SIX different card draws? 3 of them are 1/2 cost cycle cards (effectively making Demon Hunter decks 24 cards in size), while THREE of them are 2+ multidraw cards.
Leeroy wasn't HoFed for six years. And Lust is literally the game winner that you pull off Zephrys 50% of the time. In any case you're missing the point, which ia that DH burst is not any worse than any other burst we've had before.
Demon Hunter's weakness is that they have to use face for everything. It's like Rogue, except they don't keep the weapon and they have a lot more "give your hero attack" shit. To beat them, all you have to do is exploit that.
They don't have great healing, they have okay healing at best.
So they have solid burst. They have solid heals. And they have solid control. But they don't have exceptional anything except card draw, which means the strategy is to outvalue them.
When the big boi is gonna do his mega Avenging Wrath, I drop about 8 health worth of minions to soak then Fireball him before he gets an attack off. With the shivarra (which is just a slightly powercreeped Blazecaller that's random), save Polymorph for it. When they're ready to chunk me for 15, throw down a Khartut or Bone Wraith or other big taunt, or just Frostbolt to face.
It really isn't that hard. And my point is proven by the fact that every Demon Hunter deck has had its winrate drop by 4-5 points overnight, and no doubt will stabilize around having the best deck 55-58ish by the end of the week.
Currently 4-0 against demon hunters. I think this is just a problem with the deck you’re playing
I was playing Libram Pure Paladin, I will try to move to a neutral type but the main problem is the value in the cards they play. Everything is too much and even if I reduce the cost of Libram of Hope to 3 (I did 2 games) they out value me with cards that are hard to take down and have stats with insane effects. Mind if I ask what type of deck your playing?
There's your problem, pure pally is garbage right now, and also you're trying to base this off two games? Come tf on, you could lose two games to any class by RNG, that doesn't mean anything lmao
No the 2 games were with full reductions, played more than 12 games by now and its the same thing.
Okay, but once again, Pure Paladin is terrible right now. Paladin is the lowest winrate of any class except Shaman, which doesnt have enough data on HSReplay to get any good standing.
I watch Kibler, and he said he tried to make a Pure Pally build and gave up because it just doesn't have enough right now, losing Crystology and Glowtron basically murders their early game and Librams aren't strong enough to make up for it.
That sample size is so small it means nothing dude
It's a new class, nobody knows the cards or how to play against it yet, it is WAY too early to be calling for nerfs. Once people actually know how to play against the class the winrate will go down.
You can't play against Demon Hunter. That's the problem. You can be sitting at 20 health and they are still able to kill you in one turn just because of how insanely it easy it is to consistently just deal tons of face damage and burst people down. DH is a class that has OTKs but also has insane tempo and has a stupid OP early game. There is no counter. If you try to out-tempo and board control them, they have crazy AOEs. You can't aggro them down because they have tons of lifesteal and they have their own early game threats. You can't out control them because they have unfair amounts of burst. There's literally no way to win against them.

Ive found kayn is not neccesary you arent winning with DH with burst damage but pure tempo play. There arent enough taunty priests to justify running him
Trump's Highlander Mage is running Khartut Defender rn specifically for that, so far he's saved me in 2 games against DH.
Honestly if more people dont start running taunt as a hardcounter to DH I'd be surprised

You guys are bads. I'm 4-1 against DH so far with Highlander Hunter/ Trump's Mage deck thats on the front page. Previously Rank 8 here, so I'm not exactly the best player but not awful
Learn how to play around shit and figure out how their cards work and you'll be fine.

He can't start a round with Divine Shield. That means your opponent can snipe him before he gets it.
Cobalt was "gain Divine Shield when you summon a mech", Deflect is "when you summon a mech in combat". So you can't just start a round by swinging with a 40 attack divine shield
Firelands Portal was 7 mana deal 5 summon on average a 5/5. It was played in basically every mage deck.
This card is 8 mana deal 9 summon a 5/9 at worst. So assuming Firelands Portal was in fact worth 7, that would make this a 9-10 mana card at worst. And if it survives, that means your opponent has to burn another minion or removal on it, adding another 2-3 mana of value.
As for your dumb comment on a 4 mana 3/3 deathrattle summon a 3/3 is trash, seriously? Restless Mummy exists and is meta and is literally a 3/2 with deathrattle summon a 3/1
they showed so much promise with the librams... and then they printed fucking murlocs for legendary. Why couldn't you just print Maraad? like it would be very fitting to the outland theme as well

Currently playing Trump's Highlander mage build, 3-0 against DH with it so far.

Relatively close games, but not too hard to win. I could see putting in maybe another Freeze, or Evasive Drakonid in place of the Spellkin

Terrible. Does fine in matches vs non control DH but dies miserably against anything that puts any body on the board before turn 4.

There is not a gap, people are just lower ranked right now because everyone got put in the bottom bracket.
Chill your tiddies and give the good players a few days to climb out

Obviously that's to keep people from exploiting the system lmao...

Illidan is no longer a card. And Maiev and Liadrin are not basic heroes.

Maraad wasn't a character until WoTLK.
