posted a message on New Rogue Card - Plague of Madness

"Plagues: Powerful AOE-style spells wielded by Priest, Shaman, Warrior, Warlock, and Rogue classes."

Thanks Blizzard. Just when I thought we would get something to soft-replace vanish. Oh well shafted again.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in this. Don't say "powerful AOE spells for these classes" and then shaft one of them with a symmetrical effect that had no immediate board impact. As has been mentioned, this is a "Project" card, rather than a "Plague" card. Apparently this card's effect was changed late in set development (not unlike Boom's Scheme) and it shows.

For a class that relies on tempo and minions, with next to zero survivability, paying for your opponent to equip a weapon with both a card and a mana is a bad deal. Couple it with the need to have weapon removal on hand before doing so....it's not feasible. Weapons Project works in Warrior because of Warrior survivability and the fact that they don't rely on tempo/minion damage exclusively (not to mention easy access to removal) to grind out opens. That's not the case with Rogue.

Anyone saying "yeah! I'll face-tank 16 with this weapon ez" is Cray Cray. And what are you cutting in your list to run 2 plague of madness, and/or 2 Ooze/1 Harrison? All so you can equip a 2/2 poison dagger? Hard pass from me. 1/5

    Nope.

Going 2nd is still a disadvantage for the vast majority of decks.

Only few decks can generate an advantage from going 2nd.

    Statistically measured.

Has there ever been a relevant competitive deck that was better going second? I know some rogue decks were pretty close but the last time I saw the data was a couple years ago.

     https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/the-witchwood-coin-differential-a-silent-problem/

This is the most recent data I'm aware of. Bear in mind, this data is somewhat skewed due to the existences of Genn/Baku in the later metas this charts. But there's older information from metas that may be more relevant to the type of meta we are experiencing/will experience in the near future. Really good info here.

TC, not gonna dump on you , as you've (deservedly) gotten enough already. That said, it may be wise to do a little Googling before hitting the publish button. Without the coin, or a similar "catch-up" mechanic, Hearthstone would be beyond unplayable.

I'm still not sold. I think this card is very good and likely meta-defining, but what's Secret Pally's refill (in standard I mean, this card will nuts in Wild, btw) with Divine Favor getting HoF'd? Crystology maybe? Are we maybe adding Cult Masters in Secret Pally?

I think out of the gate, Secret Pally is your tier 1 aggro list. But as the experimentation dies down and lists become more refined, I think it may fall off. Love the Paladin Fiery War Axe as well.

The theory this has something to do with bombs makes a lot more sense than the actual card itself.

I agree with the consensus: It's dust.

A thread about "RogueStone" without mention of what will arguably be the most powerful card in Standard after rotation: Captain Hooktusk. I see Hooktusk eating the nerf bat long before the new Togwaggle. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I watched the reveal stream, along with 44,000 other people on Twitch. I'd say there's a decent amount of  interest in the expansion and Hearthstone in general.

posted a message on Is Genn and Baku damaging Hearthstone?

I mean, Peter Whalen himself said on The Angry Chicken podcast that Baku and Genn are "maybe" affecting the meta in an "unhealthy way" and they are "keeping an eye on them ™".

You know what usually happens when they're keeping their eyes on stuff....

Nobody has said it so far, but there's a wild bundle in the bnet shop. Pretty good value for anyone looking to go Wild.

And like everyone said: craft towards a deck (or several if they have cards in common) rather than crafting cards and shoe-horning them into decks.

Baku and Genn are solid crafts that will be around another year.

Ehrm... speak for yourself? Not everybody began playing during beta, or bought packs for thousand$.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they alternated between Classic and last expansion every week. Or something like that.

Agree with that last part. There's a handful of classic cards I still need, but if I'd definitely rather they rotate; one week classic, the next week a newer set.

Having a lot of fun with this one. I played Even Pally back before it was gutted by the CtA nerf, and have been hoping it would make a comeback. I like the list, and there's some flexibility here with card choices, as you noted in the excellent guide. I'm trying to make Chillblade Champ work, with pretty good results so far. Landing Lifesteal on a Windfury-d Corpsetaker can sneak in some big healing. Scalehide was a consideration but I haven't tried with it yet.

    Fun list, great guide, +1.

Eta: might find wi crafting Kangor for the Orwellian Lifesteal buff instead of trying with the Chillblade/Scalehide.

My dude, Idk if I'll get around to crafting this beast, but you get a +1 from me just for the guide. One of the best, most detailed guides I've seen. Really good work

That's how much damage you've done with the hero power. More accurately, how much you still have to do .
