First rule of Battlecry club: They only trigger if you play them from your hand. Second rule of Battlecry club: Seriously, they only trigger if you played them from your hand.
I have played this card multiple times and have had it played against me. When it was played against me i was sure to track the hand of the opponent to see where the card was until it was played. In total i saw it played around 30 times, here are the result in a fancy pie-chart!
There general consensus here is that 45% of the time you are getting minimal value out of this card, and 55% of the time you are getting excellent value out of it, meaning you are getting 4-7+ drops not the 1-3 mana drops. The sample is small but still a good representation of how this card works without just taking every card and deducing the %s.
The fact that Malorne is a 7 drop probably detracts from its usefulness. Odds are most noobs who play this (and some experienced players) will drop this first in their line of threats. It will be hit with the first poly/hex. Though to most people arguing say that its okay because its one less removal for the others blah blah. Well druid does lose, and recently they have not been as good as they have been in the past in recent tournaments. Whether they come out on top in GvG is unlikely but we shall see.
Yeah i tried this in arena x2 and it was excellent. A turn 1 webspinner into turn 2 galivezooka clears any starting board or first blood and a clear board. Later in the game its a good filler for picking off threats, even to help clear taunts.
Priest is going to be a force to be reckoned with when GvG drops. recombobulating your belchers, shrinking and stealing Yseras and wiping entire stacked boards with lightbomb. If you arent hyper aggro you've lost. Somehow i can't wait, but... im also extremely fearful.
You cannot defend piloted sky golem. It is strictly worse than bloodhoof. Consistency ALWAYS trumps potential. If you run mechs that synergize off of eachother, that is the only upside you're going to get with the epic. In the case that either of them are silenced, bloodhoof also takes the win as a yeti. The golem also dies to the new and probably popular Flamecannon & Soulfire. Sorry but no.
An added crux is that you need to draw the bastard and relatively early to make use of his 20+ attack AND survive his all-game dead weight in your hand.
huge threats to bolvar (NOT including vanilla silences/removals like BGH, owls)
Shaman > double shocks + hex Mage > polymorph, fireball + hero power Priest > Silence, lightbomb, death, mindcontrol Paladin > Humility, Aldor Peacekeeper, equality <--- arguably the worst in a mirror
Now is he worth letting sit in your hand only to be wanked by these? Dunno but if i draw him i will certainly try him.
I don't know...The new one feels like ghost rider to me which vaguely reminds me of Nicholas Cage which I don't want to be reminded of. Imho, I like the old one because it has more armor. He's got already enough flames to back him up as the firelord.
I personally hate that hes a weak body too, but he would be OP if he was epic/rare. Spell damage decks would run 2 and there would be no reason not to run 2 since they replace themselves. Hes a damn good card that makes AOE wipes hellish. I think the nastiest in druid with Thalnos + Swipe. Kills a yeti and rapes everything else for 2. Warlock is excellent as a filler too.

Nope, because BC's always trigger first, even before traps. He wont get a 1/1 buff.
