posted a message on Legendary Tier Crafting Guide

My girlfriend started playing the game a couple months ago, she's completely F2P, and she'll soon get the gold for the fourth quarter of BRM (she's going for Flamewaker). She has no League of adventurers cards.

As you can tell, her favorite class is Mage, and she has a Tempo mage which has all the rares and commons needed I think, but no epics nor legendaries. She has a Pyroblast though, which she's not using. (could it fit her deck?)

She also likes C'Thun Druid, and is doing decently at ladder (she's at rank 15 right now) for not having any of the expensive cards.

Finally, she likes zoo, but it's missing most of its staples, so lots of dust would be needed to get it into a decent state. She's got 2 Sea Giants  and 2 Knife Jugglers though.

Well, she finally got enough dust for a legendary (thank you Tinkmaster Overspark ! ), so I wonder what should she get?

Archmage Antonidas for her Tempo Mage?

Ragnaros the Firelord which may suit Druid and Tempo Mage?

Use dust for zoo cards? (2 Councilman, 2 Forbidden Ritual, 2 Defender of Argus, 1 Iron Dwarf, 2 possessed villager, 2 PO, 2 Doomguard). Also, she'd need the first wing of LoA, for Dark Peddler.

Or any other legendary or epic cards that could suit Tempo Mage, C'Thun Druid or Zoo?

Hoping for your input guys :)

I'm sorry to say this, but by not having owl, I don't think you have a positive winrate against freeze mage. It's a bad matchup as it is, and without owl I'd say it's even worse.

posted a message on Now that Standard is coming, I want a re-balance of sweepers

As a long time MTG player, the thing I hated the most about Hearthstone was the unsymmetrical sweepers. I mean, from a balance point, those are totally stupid. On every good CCG, sweepers are symmetrical, meaning that they do the same damage to the enemy's and your own minions.

So, Consecration should be: Deal 2 damage to all minions (or characters). Flamestrike should be deal 4 damage to all minions.

But also, mana costs should be reduced, since these cards aren't attractive anymore if they keep their old cost. So how about:

Consecration: 3 mana, deal 2 damage to all minions. (it should stop hitting face, or its cost should go higher)

Flamestrike: 5-6 mana, deal 4 damage to all minions.

These cards would make control more attractive, and thus will be able to fight against the horde of aggro that's coming.

Also, this way, forces control to avoid playing lots of minions, and then just destroy your opponents' while yours still sit there happy (if unsymmetrical sweepers remain). That would be unfair.

So, control will play less minions, but more removal (and bigger, badder minions only). What do you think about this?

Also, I'd like Taunts revisited, but that's a story for another time....

    Ok, I'll bite.

You can't really replace him, he's the best legendary in the game, works in a ton of decks, so just grind for the dust. It's really worth crafting, believe me.

It's only legal in Legacy though. So the power level is high in that format.

In standard and modern (the two most popular formats), there are no such cards, and there will never be another card like Dark Ritual printed again :D

posted a message on BlizzCon 2015 Developer Interview Question Requests

Control needs to interact in the opponents turn and have a fair-costed symmetrical sweeper in order to thrive. Aggro needs seldom explosive, unbeatable starts but no card draw, and no comeback mechanic. And combo has to be viable as well.

How are addressing this in the near future?

posted a message on Why No SW:P?

    I think it's needed:

Darnassus means Druid will ramp up quickly. And next turn you'll have to deal with Shredder and friends.

A shielded minibot can be buffed.

    Flamewalker will just destroy you

Img gang boss laughs at your low attack taunts and brings friends.

But 2 is maybe too much. After all you do need a board (unless you're control paladin, then you can have 2 SW: P)

^ Since you play Midrange Paladin, I think Justicar Trueheart is the way to go, the deck would be complete with that.

Also, Justicar sees a lot of play in Control Warrior, and I've even seen it in Priest.

Try to complete your Druid, if it isn't complete yet (meaning all the epics, etc), it's a great deck right now. Also, Alexstrasza is present on a few powerful decks, so that could be your next target. Unless you play Zoolock a lot, then Mal'Ganis is a valid choice.

I see you have the same problem I had, you want to make the most decks possible, and thus aren't focusing on finishing one :D

I've completed many decks (but late, almost at the same time) and I'm only short of a few legendaries, but have so many decks now that it's hard to focus on all of them. And I just end up playing one or two XD

So my advice is, pick the 2 or 3 decks you want to play the most, and complete them. With time, you'll get a bigger collection, and will be able to craft almost any deck :D

muirhead01, I'd like to add Boom and Tirion to the deck, is that possible without destroying it? I was thinking is subbing a Leper Gnome and a Haunted Creeper, what do you think? (or maybe a single Divine Favor?)

I really like the Abusive Sergeant, it's the only early answer to Darnassus Aspirant (but you do need a 1-drop for it...), but if I don't draw Mysterious Challenger, I almost always lose. That's why I'd like to late game answer. (Tried the midrange version as well, but it really suffers from the lack of card draw. Divine Favor really shines in a deck with lots of secrets and cheap minions)

By not running Haunted Creeper, you have very few beasts now, isn't this a problem to proc Kill Command?

posted a message on First Golden Legendary!!!! :)

My first Golden Legendary was Troggzor the Earthinator, I played around with it for a couple weeks, but ended up a little underwhelmed and turned it into Dr. Boom :D

My second golden is Varian Wrynn (which I'll never dust), and I have no more golden legendaries :D

    Quote from Casanters >>

I pretty much just play Rogue and do pretty well considering my small collection and budget (not f2p) account.  Just started last month.
Opened a Gold Grom and immediately dusted it, since I'd rather read Atlas Shrugged than touch a warrior deck.

Was thinking I'd craft either Thalnos or VanCleef.
Both work in combo decks, and both can help add pressure/extra damage.  Thoughts?

Why did you dust golden Grom? BibleThump

It's a very powerful and useful legendary, even if you won't touch a Warrior in the near future, who knows how your collection will be in the future...

Anyway, the harm is done, so it's no use to keep arguing about it. Rogue was my second completed deck (after hunter), and I've felt the pain of having both of my first classes nerfed T_T (Starving Buzzard, Leeroy Jenkins, Gadgetzan Auctioneer). I opened a Edwin VanCleef pretty early so that's why I went Rogue. I crafted Bloodmage Thalnoslater.

I gotta say, Thalnos is more important than VanCleef. While the latter can be an unstoppable force at times, you don't protect him as you did in the miracle days (a 12/12 stealthed VanCleef was the nuts! ) so he can get rekt at times: gets silenced, sapped, executed, etc.

On the other hand, Thalnos has several uses: Combo enabler, card draw, finisher, board clear (with Fan of Knives or Blade Flurry). He's a utility box in one card.

So my advice is craft Thalnos first, and then VanCleef in the future, as he can also steal some games, or bait removal.
