I like the Elusive mechanic, but why still is not a keyword, it too bored is reading "Can't be targered by spells or Power Hero".
C'mon, Blizzard, do Elusive a keyword. Anyway, if you pass it through the eggs the identity of class...
Because I don't know if you've noticed, but they are SUPER weird about key words. They took enrage OFF cards. They think that's the key to consistency or something? Rather than actually having consistent templating 🙄.
Theidea that someone would be confused because a keyword needs you to read the description of what it does the first time, in the popup which they provide for that very purpose 🤷♂️
Just weird. I had hoped it was Brode that was weird about keywords, and they could make things more consistent when he left, but it seems like it's someone else as it hasn't changed yet 😟
this is because the nerfs also have to accommodate sales of new packs. They will try to avoid nerfing newer cards, because fewer people have the newer cards. If the must have cards come from newer sets, more people have to buy new cards.
nerfing cards that everyone already has isn't a problem.
I know it's probably a rather pessimistic sentiment, but you cannot deny that nerfing trends follow this formula.
Totally - and the problem Kibler pointed out way back when they introduced the 'evergreen' set. Either the cards are terrible and newbs are at a _huge_ disadvantage or they are good and you don't need to buy as many packs to make a good deck .
I feel like its already at the point that if you were a noob with a load of classic cards and no expansion cards, you wouldn't really be able to win a game :( And it can only get worse. As new expansions synergise with different classic cards, they'll need to nerf each in turn, because they don't want to reprint sets...
finally, many of these cards offer opportunities for a player to catch up from behind'
Yes, yes, no, yes.
What's harder to use, a vanilla 4/4 for 4 or a Fireball? The one thing lots of overpowered, reactive cards definitely do is REDUCE the impact of skill.
Not sure if they're trying to allude to that with the word 'testing' but I think I can see what you're trying to do here, Blizz, and it's a lie.
I think they would like people to feel they can win in arena without experience, learning and gaining skills. More reactive and OP cards make it easier for lower skill players to stay in games or win. I wish Blizz would be clear about that in communication!
There's a place with mostly reactive and class cards, it's called constructed. We loved playing with lower power cards. It requires MORE planning and skill!
2. All this shows how horrifically complicated arena is.
Finally played some magic drafts now Magic Arena is a thing. Open a pack and pick a card then pass it on. Repeat. Pretty simple. For some reason Blizz don't seem to want us to understand how arena works. Not sure why.
This system is so complex. They're trying to copy magic drafting, where you only get offered the most powerful cards a few times and the picking process involves other humans or AI, who take the other powerful cards from a pack before you get chance... This is closer to that in some ways, but a lot less interactive and more RNG.
That's okay but the layering of systems to try to address perceived problems is now pretty rediculous. Rarity buckets seemed fine to me, it was understandable. Then a bonus for each new set and class cards, fine. But balance between classes should've been done in design, not via micro(/massive) adjustments. And I still hate the extra spells and weapons idea. WTF? Making arena more reactive? We already have that. It's called constructed.
That’s... not even a thing. At this writing on hsreplay.net the best performing decks in Standard across all ranks are Odd and Even Paladin, both topping out over 70% WR.
Best WR on a Shudderwock deck so far across all ranks is 52.5%. In the Legend-10 range it’s under 50%.
Certainly is a thing on my ladder! About 1/4 of my opponents seem to be trying it! It's given me a lot of wins! It's a combo deck, so it can beat control. But it loses to MR and aggro. I've been playing MR...
I'm kinda hoping it hits around this thursday too but I really can't see it being that quickly implemented, might be another couple of weeks, at the end of the day who knows, just have to wait patiently and hope.
Signature must be changed to end - 'I'm 3 attack weaker.' This is now the standard rhyme. Thank you.

Only the changed cards get full value. Not the ones the indirectly nerf. Feelsbadman.

And they're GOOD! 5 mana shieldmaiden? Yes please!!

'This to be good' ? I think you missed the name of the card 😉

1. Well done for finally giving us some stats

This comment is not high enough. I just did the same :'(

Not saying I don't agree. But they are trying to fix that with this change (top of top bucket less likely to be offered)
I struggle a lot more with micro adjustments being up to 66% (+-33%). Not very micro. And with the MASSIVE complexity they've ended up with.

They did say they shouldn't have printed it in the reveal video...
