I agree. But, thats why this is called oldschool deck tracking and it's not too much waste of time. You need 0,5 second to write down W or L, and that's it. At the end of sesaon you count and calculate W-L ratio. And I found this more fun than exel or 3rd party program :) thats all, just wanted to share and see if anyone else doing this like me..

Ansavin posted a message on Eternal whiners are harming HearthstonePosted in: General DiscussionActually that Brawl is pretty hard. If Mechazod is controlled by a human, probably there would be only 30% winrate for players. The victories pretty rely on the Mechazod randomly acting stupidly.
And it's debatable whether the design of Secretdin is to cater to the "casual and bad players". Some people even say only a noob thinks Secretdin is OP. And Secretdin is no worse than Miracle Rogue or GP Warrior, which are unfun to play against and had noxious influence on ladder environment. The most unfun thing I've experienced in Hearthstone is to wait for Miracle Rogues roping or Auctioneer-ing, and it was also a bit disgusting to see them brag around that they were the most successful and the most skilled in the game. Those rogues were also a reason why the Face Hunter gained popularity. If there's one group that hurts the game most, I'd say it's those tryhards who had thrown too much time and energies into the game and wants to teach others that this is the correct way to play the game.

No, Mysterious Challenger doesn't trigger Secretkeeper.
Since the OP's question has been answered, I'm locking this before it escalates.

user-15963272 posted a message on Headed for Legend - S19 October 2015Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Mesmerizeer >>I find Secret Paladin to be very good as well. I particularly like the aggro version since I can use my aggro pressure to either force my opponent to react, or clear their board so that they have a very hard time dealing with Mysterious Challenger. I am not sure if I played it correctly, but from time to time, even if I can, it seems that turn 6 MC may not be the best idea. My example would be if I suspect an incoming Lightbomb but there are certainly other situations as well.
How does the deck fare against Patron, though? I ran into some Patron players but frankly, they aren't playing very well so the wins don't count. ("Lone-Warsong Commander-on-board-expecting-it-to-live-next-turn" kind of bad.)
I play a midrangish version, it does not even need the Challenger in some cases. I did not play against patron, so I do not know the matchup. I lost to a demon handlock, he had a perfect draw, I had no chance and I feel like it is a bad matchup anyway. Also lost to an aggro mage, I had the tools to win, but I felt safe at 13hp and 8 mana and opted to apply more pressure when my opponent had no board. I lost to a fireball, frostbolt and icelance combo. I had ice block in my hand from his spellslinger, so it was my mistake at the end. The wins were super easy, at least 2 person gave up early as they saw no chance to win. If you can take the board early, others have hard time coming back as the midrange version has lot more firepower than just dr 6.

Just curious, what's stopping you from saving The Coin and playing a turn 5 Emperor Thaurissan or some such? The Coin still counts as a card in your hand, iirc.

Like... 1.8k gold. Stayed there for a month since I took a break.
I don't feel like playing this game so much anymore.

So from the Magic: the Gathering example we know that 95% of casual players think they are pro-materials in their minds, I would say your poll won't produce much solid results for you.
And BTW, I am casual. I know I am one. Because I have a life, and I am no genius. I am just another common folk.

I can't say with a straight face that there can be "Professionals" in this silly little game of yours. Sorry, but that's the fact. The game is designed to be casual-ONLY in the first place. The randomness. The no block-assignment. The no "response to players' action". All contributes to the casualness of the game. Hearthstone simplifies every aspect of decisions in card games. They make the deck 30 cards so that the games can be fast. They want people to just jump in, play a few games, jump out. Because those who have a job, will likely not appreciate a 45-minute-long game. They won't appreciate if they need to play thousands of hours just to reach a skill level to compete with others. And because these players, who have a job, are the ones who can afford to spend the big bucks and feel good about themselves playing some Hearthstone, Blizzard is going to cater to these people.
Nobody wants to spend money and then be told how much they suck. I am not saying there is no good player who also has a job, but when you are working 8-9 hours a day, and have a family, and probably a dog, you aren't gonna spend so much time playing. If you give them bad feelings in the game, they will just jump onto the next shiny game. And when the big bucks stop, the management of Blizzard will not be happy. And when the management is not happy, someone gets fired. That's how things works IRL.
Maybe you think you are a professional players. Maybe you think you are a HARDCORE. But do you really know what "Hardcore" means? Let me give you a non-Hearthstone but Blizzard related example. A player plays World of Warcraft. He didn't have a level-capped character. He roleplayed. He didn't run any dungeons, not to talk about raids. Casual enough, right? Yet, he ran a WoW Fansite, and updated his little WoW-blog daily. He lived WoW. He breathed WoW. That's some hardcore, right? Do not throw generic words like "Hardcore" and build you little argument on it, because it simply doesn't work.
Moreover, lots of "HARDCORE" players are, I don't want to say "no-lifers" because that's like tagging someone and that's not nice, but lots of these "HARDCORE" players spend their whole day grinding the game, watching the streams to achieve the title of "HARDCORE" "PRO-GAMERS". But they don't pay the bills. Yes, you can say that they hold tournaments to help with the publicity of the game, but the game is popular already. At the start, maybe beta or launch, they need some "HARDCORE" players to bring in the public to play this game, but the game is popular so they don't need to do that anymore. Those who are proud to be "HARDCORE" becomes the minority. And do you know what treatments minority gets? Ignored. "HARDCORE" players may think that they are the HEART and SOULS of the playerbase, but in fact they are just a minority.
The above opinion comes from a once proud "HARDCORE" players of World of Warcraft, at its golden days. Oh, Blizzard, how well we knew ye.

Druid's Savage Roar should really be just Overrun.
I remember the days when I cast Overrun on my rebel-elf deck. Funniest moment of my Magic life.

Fire the current design team, perhaps...?
I kid, I kid.
But then, it is exactly their words that "to stand by our overarching game philosophy that battles between minions and fighting for board control is what makes Hearthstone fun and compelling". This means the game should be Aggro VS Aggro AND NOTHING ELSE. By this philosophy, a winner of a match is decided by what that player packs in his/her deck. It is about minion efficiency. The most efficient minions are those that can come down on turn 1-3, waste no time standing around and just start bashing your head with Charge.
What the design team doesn't realize, is that this exact phrase is illogical in and of itself. When you and your opponent both have a 1/1 minion, the one that selects to go face wins, because a turn wasted to trade minions is a turn wasted not dealing dmg to the opponent's face. And that game is won by dealing dmg to the opponent's face. There will be no board control because PLAYER CANNOT ASSIGN BLOCKERS. That's a fundamental weakness of Hearthstone. That's why there are no minions fighting each others, because everybody knows that "Face is the Place".
"What about taunt?", you might ask. That's what silence is for. It is proven that trading is INEFFECTIVE. The correct answer is to SILENCE the Taunt and keep going face. So you see, not only the design team doesn't know the "HOW" of designing the game, they don't even know the "WHAT" their game is trying to accomplish, because they can't even make a coherent statement about the game that they make.
I will just sit here and wait for them to kill my Freeze Mage too, because "battles between minions and fighting for board control is what makes Hearthstone fun and compelling".

I will preface this with my thought upon reading the nerf.
"As expected. But this makes me sad."
This nerf makes me thought back to the banning of an M:tG card, Birthing Pod. For those who have never played Magic, this is a card with a mechanic that can bring a chain of creatures (a.k.a minions), of the pilot's choice, to the board by sacrificing a lower-costed creature. The deck is very robust and consistent, and can gain a lot of value through creatures that come back to life after being sacrificed, triggering their "Enter the Battlefield" (a.k.a Battlecry) effect upon their revival. Their explanation for the banning is that this card stops the printing of new creatures, as every creatures designed has to take into account the impact it can have with Birthing Pod. While reasonable, I still found it devastating. The card is a lot of fun to play with, and can inspire a lot of ideas with its "Toolbox" approach. At that point, I turned away from Magic. There is no curses, no cry for injustice. Like a broken up couple, "There is nothing left to say."
Fast forwarded to this Warsong Commander nerf. I have to preface this by saying that I don't play Grim Patron decks. I simply do not enjoy that playstyle. But in my humble opinion, this nerf is recklessly done. Instead of trying to fix the problem, they just throw that card away. They might as well have turned it into a 3-cost 2/3 vanilla minion. The deck, while certainly annoying with all the draw engines and some explosive plays, are very manageable. We as a player base, or rather, I as a player, have learnt how to play against the deck. And now this. No explanation as to why this is the suitable time. No explanation addressing how they approach the issue. Just a blanket statement crap "battles between minions and fighting for board control is what makes Hearthstone fun and compelling" and just BAM. Gone.
The change to the card is laughable. Again, no explanation as to why the card is being changed into the current state. It is as if they just take off their trousers, pee all over the card, then shake, pee some more, and then just walk off.
TL:DR - The change may be necessary, but it was implemented without the finesse required, or proper communication. I as a player am very disappointed.
