I've been having decent success vs mages playing xBlyze's relic DH. They freeze your board but you just drop mass silence and hit them in the face for 60.
Quest priest does really well. I don't have a very large sample but so far it was enjoyable. I had several games where opponent pushed me below 10 hp (i.e. I'd be dead without Renathal) and I was able to stabilize after and snatch the win.
Thats good thing. if games are long, that means they are interesting and both players had their chance to win.
That doesn't mean games are interesting for both players. It means that deck whose goal in a matchup was to survive long enough succeeded. If a game was short, it was "interesting" for a faster deck's pilot, if it was long, it was "interesting" for a slower deck's pilot.
If aggro players start conceding when running into Renathal decks we might have a problem (actually not, I'm quite sure all control players will be happy) but aggro matchups are short-timed anyway. They just run out of steam and concede or kill you before you are able to stabilize. Those games can be fun.
I do. I added Prince to my quest priest deck and played 3 games this morning totalling in about 1hr. Yes, those are long but I won all 3 and I had great fun playing the deck. Fun fact, addition of Renathal gave me the edge to win vs Curse Warlock which was close to unwinnable before. Probably because he also played with Prince and diluted his deck enough to not being able to spam curses.
I'd rather have them remove this deck from the game. It's stupid. I tried beating it like 5 times as quest priest. Even when I got my ideal 2-3-4-5-6-7-8 curve, I still got roasted before I was able to play quest reward. It's uninteractive and there's not much you can do as non-warrior control deck.
Nowadays when I face warlock as priest, I just concede. It saves me time and nerves.
I haven't found any notice of this in 23.4 patch notes but:
Speed ties between your mercs and enemies in bounties are now always resolved in your favor which makes it a much more enjoyable experience. You don't have to guess or pray anymore.
you can deal with T3 2*12/12 or even 1 20/20 charge: basically any hard remove, freeze trap, freeze , freeze + shatter , poison(s), silence, assassinate, deadly ... . if your deck has no way to deal with big / big buffed minions, ie no defense, thats an issue of the deck. nothing to do with switcheroo. how do you plan on stopping giants, 8/8s, buffed minions etc?
Good luck dealing with 2x 40 attack boars with charge in wild on any class except mage (yes, that happens later than t3 but they can still do 2x 20 attack boars with charge on t3 with coin). And even for mage you need one of two specific secrets and some follow-up.
I agree, it's unfun. I played PW myself during the first day of the expansion but it gets boring quick, and even winning 80% of the games doesn't make it fun.
It's not faster than mech mage. I play mech mage and I haven't lost a single game to warrior yet.
I played several games last night and I'm 2-1 against mech mage as quest warrior. It's definitely faster, the only game that I lost mage had godlike draws and discovered two sharks.
I don't know about Wild, haven't tried Libram Paladin there but in Standard, Quest warrior is just about the easiest match up. Once you get Cariel out, it's game over, they just don't do enough damage to your face anymore, and you can contest (and win) the board easily with giant taunts.
Yeah, quest baku druid eats hunter alive (I haven't lost to quest hunters even once), but pirate warrior is like 80/20 to warrior's favor (you only have chance if you manage to get full board of 2/2 Fireflies on t5 followed by Arbor Up while keeping warrior's side of board clear)

But I agree, mages are not fun to play against.

Now you can just steal Guff from druid and laugh at him while having 20 mana.

I've been playing pirate warrior for some games, and out of 10 times I played Nellie, I got offered Smite exactly once.
Rogues playing shadowstep on their Smite are more annoying since there's no counter if you are out of taunts.

Yep, Holy comp absolutely wrecks Dragonbone.

Not really. Colossal minions spawn their part even if they were not played but summoned by other means. So not a battlecry per se.
