IambicAvenger posted a message on Hearthside Chat Reveals - Commander Rhyssa & Ray of FrostPosted in: NewsTough to say exactly what to compare Ray of Frost to. On its face, it's a dramatically nerfed version of Ice Lance. But, thanks to twincast, It can be compared to Frostbolt. 2 mana freeze and deal 2 to a minion is much worse than 2 mana deal 3 and freeze any character, but the flexibility of being able to freeze multiple minions or deal 4 damage to an already frozen minion is something worth considering. Depending on what your deck wants to do, this may be a very compelling substitution for Frostbolt.
Commander Rhyssa, on the other hand, is a pretty tough call. The ability is pretty neat, and stats are fair for the cost. Going into rotation, available secrets will be Noble Sacrifice, Eye for an Eye, Repentance, Redemption, Autodefense Matrix, and the new secret No Surrender. (And maybe others, yet to be announced). Two of the secrets in that set gain no benefit from this effect (Autodefense and Repentance), but there's a lot of potential tempo value in Noble Sac and Redemption going off twice, and of course No Surrender would be great with this effect. Her aggressive statline might make it hard to protect her, but Commander Rhyssa will force your opponent to be very careful playing around your secrets and risk major misplays.

Hunter: Either a 4 drop 3/4 that attacks face or a poisonous Beast that kills smaller minions and survives (or big ones of course).

Simple, but powerful. Want to up Attack for more Battlecry damage, it can do that. If you think your C'Thun will be better used as a board clear, Poisonous is your friend. If you're facing a Warrior with 200 HP, maybe Windfury is a good out.

Side-decking without including any changes to the game itself, very practical of Blizz

Better pillage some more tombs before you try to take from this pile.

Something fun about Saronite Chain Gang's nerf: it'll also affect it's role in Prince Keleseth decks, since the way the card is worded, it should mean that it'll summon an unbuffed Saronite Chain Gang now.

Ooh, this could be a fun one. My first thought is this being helpful to pull off Windshear Stormcaller in a meme deck by "saving" totems this way.

Very versatile. If you discover crap but still have a good alternative in hand, that spell is getting discounted ^^ Very cool take on the Primordial Glyph concept.

I dunno if this has been brought up yet, but all of the loas' champions, except for the Rogue one, Captain Hooktusk, are from WoW and its lore. That's really fun.

The best reason to band together is an impending demon invasion. The second-best is Taco Tuesday.

Card One: Zandalari Infiltrator
He needs that Secret to mask his strong body odor.
This guy fits the themes Unexpected Cooperation & Brand New Lands . While a 4/3 for 3 isn't the best statline for that mana cost, gaining Stealth in the appropriate deck makes him a pretty decent card for all four Secret-having classes. Also technically he only mentions Stealth, and doesn't have it from the get-go, which I think is a bit more fun for the Unexpected Cooperation aspect of the competition.
Card Two: United in Undeath
"Til death do us part" doesn't sound appropriate for a Forsaken wedding, right?
I love weddings, y'all, and when I stumbled across this art I knew it was perfect for the Festival theme. My only "problem" was to find an effect appropriate to that theme. After some consideration I came up with this potentially busted effect, since it combines Lesser Diamond Spellstone and Divine Spirit while also being rather cheap (but then again Lesser Diamond Spellstone is overcosted to account for it being upgradeable). The Divine Spirit connection obviously allows for this card to then fit the Double Up theme.
