Contrary to popular belief Aggro Shaman isn't actually that easy to play. Most Hearthstone player are really bad at Hearthstone and severely polarize certain archetypes to make themselves feel better. Aggro decks are actually a fair bit harder to play than most midrange decks since you can't always just play things on curve. You usually have more decisions because your cards cost less so there are different combinations if cards you can play with earlier on. Aggro Shaman isn't that easy because you have to plan ahead with your overload and as with most Face decks, deciding when its actually worth it to sacrifice damage to remove a minion isn't as easy as it seems.

RaisinCakes posted a message on People don't want to kill cute cardsPosted in: General DiscussionThis is true. I can never bring myself to kill Lorewalker Cho and so haven't been able to finish the tutorial yet. It's a bummer because I was looking forward to seeing who the next couple of bosses were. This concludes diary entry from rank sub-25.

achan1058 posted a message on Thoughts on AggroPosted in: General DiscussionThere's no real debate. Those people who are unwilling to play aggro as a principle as just as bad as those who only play aggro. In Sirlin's words, those people are called scrubs. One should seek to be a complete player and play a variety of decks.

iandakar posted a message on Formats and the Brilliance of BlizzardPosted in: General DiscussionOk seriously, why are people posting these theories like they found some insane conspiracy theory.
Yes, formats are very profitable. Yes, they make it so that instead of just getting a few cards from an expansion you have to pick up large swaths of the expansion every single time to keep up. Yes, the power level has been dropped so that they aren't as strong as the older cards and, thus, won't be of much use in Wild.
Here's the big secret that's forgotten.. This is. EXACTLY WHY FORMATS ARE WANTED BY THE COMMUNITY.
Yes, we have to buy the expansions in mass. We WANT to buy the expansions in mass. We DIDN'T like TGT's '3 cards, that's it' situation. We DON"T want to stick to the same cards over and over.
We WANT a drop in power level. We WANT cards that would be normally considered 'too weak' to be worthwhile. Yes, that does mean they won't do much to Wild. We DIDN'T want them to.
Jeesh, When blizzard brought the idea up to some of the prominent players of the game with a more watered down version that didn't push out so many cards, the players demanded blizzard to take a more extreme route. Remove MORE cards from rotation. That we have Classic was Blizzard working against the wishes of those players for the specific purpose of giving players SOMETHING that will survive of their collection once rotation kicks in and they don't keep up. In MTG, once the core set and expansions rotate out, you pretty much have 0 cards remaining and have to start from scratch, sometimes having to rebuy reprints of old cards to use those in Standard. The players asked for this future: Blizzard said no.
The big secret isn't Blizzard playing some trick on their players in the name of money. It's the players who turn out to be more willing to give up their money than the company is in taking it.
Sometimes the public aren't sheep. They are, you know. CONSUMERS actually willing to trade time or money to get more of something they want.
Sorry, but the "Blizzard is fooling you with formats!" bit is getting old. I might need to leave these topics alone from here on out.

Kaladin posted a message on Formats and the Brilliance of BlizzardPosted in: General DiscussionIf Blizzard (and let me remind you, mostly everyone in the Hearthstone community) didn't want power creep, why in C'Thun's name would they make cards that are strictly better compared to the card pool in Wild mode? Further, why are you surprised or disappointed in this?
Also, I use Ragnaros in two decks. Additionally, if "Ragnaros isn't run in many decks," why would we suddenly NEED to craft this 'strictly worse Ragnaros' to be competitive?

Dawnstrife posted a message on No one wants to accept friend request after they beat me...Posted in: General DiscussionWhen I get a request by a hunter Player after he lost I accept, paste "Fuck you" before he can write anything and remove him. Drives them nuts :)
Seriously though, I have never got a serious friend request after a game, only People who were salty and needed to blow of some steam.
But how do you know if you drove them nuts before they had a chance to reply, hmm? -

the power of cards is relative. There have to be bad cards in a CCG in order for there to be good cards.

Tze posted a message on Whispers of the old dustPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from Kefilkefish >>So far WoG has not shown anything that creates new decks. Pwople will soon realize 2 things about C'thun - it hurts to fill a deck with worse minions and C'thun will actually not win you the game.
Standard will, as far as we know now, be based on whichever classes has the strongest basic/classic sets after nerfs. I do not see every class having a tier 2 or better deck in the next meta.
+1000That's pretty much it with the cards shown so far.Interesting the cards shown so far haven't created new decks when... Wait I had to check just to make sure it wasn't a fever dream... Yes, we are indeed getting an Old God that literally has a tribal in the form of cultists. This is like looking at GvG and declaring there was totally not a new archetype to be played with when Mech synergies were being shown off. It doesn't mean it's top tier, but tribals are always going to create new decks. Amusingly enough I believe the argument against Challenger was that "filling your deck wih bad secrets will make your deck bad" and now all we ever hear about is how the deck is ruining the game. You also seem to be discounting the fact TGT gets a lot better when the power level gets bumped down in the game. Basic/Classic will be a deciding factor certainly, but to just say "well now GvG and Naxx are gone, time to build my deck with only Basic/Classic" seems absurd to say the least.Interesting you also are lamenting a lack of t2+ decks for every class, I think that's generally always been the case for most of the lifespan of the game (and even now I think Rogue/Hunter are placed at t3 in something like the Tempostorm snapshot). I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but sometimes classes will just not get ranked t1/t2. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I had loads of gold saved up in advance of TGT release and I had planned to just play a load of arena to get optimal use of the gold.
In the end I played about 2 arenas and spent the rest on packs. I don't know why but I just find arena more stressful, less rewarding and less fun than playing ladder, even despite averaging 5 wins.

4 drops that are often played instead of Shredder:
Keeper of the Grove, Houndmaster, Water Elemental, Murloc Knight, Auchenai Soulpriest, Fireguard Destroyer, Voidcaller, Defender of Argus, Dread Corsair, Gnomish Inventor, [card]Twilight Guardian[/card], Kezan Mystic, Mechanical Yeti, Twilight Drake
So really the only time you would pick Shredder is if you don't have a 4 drop that synergises with your deck as it has great utility on its own.

But how does it end?

They wouldn't be special if they were easy to get.

If you do have a demo that you play over and over again because you really enjoy it, then it is the best deal in history.
The key requirement is that you need to derive enjoyment out of the hours spent.
If you spent $300 on Hearthstone, but found that you didn't really enjoy it then you have wasted your money. I have spent hundreds of hours playing Hearthstone and loved every minute, so its great value for money.

1.
You have your formula wrong it should be Σstats = (mana*2)+1deleted as you have corrected your OP2. You need to factor in abilities
3. Don't compare any cards to basic neutrals as they (mostly) all come free at the start and are designed to be inferior to encourage/reward getting new packs
4. Don't compare common to rare, rare to epic, or epic to legendary, as they (supposedly) have a built in power creep by design to encourage/reward getting new packs
5. Blizzard know what they are doing and have access to a data warehouse of all the games played and will be able to tell if any cards are destabilising the meta and will hit it with the nerf hammer i.e. Undertaker
6. The game is the game is the game, like it or not

Rhonin + Effigy means I really don't care if he dies straight away

Yes its hard to play and relies on getting the right draws, but any deck that stalls and does a one turn kill against full health is not fun to play against.
In reality though, according to Hearthstats, Patron Warrior has a much lower winrate than midrange pally, tempo mage, face hunter and zoo. So once people have got bored of it they will switch to the next new thing.
