Quote from DropDeadCynical >>If a company mismanages or or makes a major mistake, it often leads to the president of the company leaving,.True. However when the company is doing just fine, with healthy customer numbers, industry reviews and monetisaiton and there are just a few people on an internet forum somewhere that bitch about them while continuing to consume their product, the head of the company usually stays.

iandakar posted a message on A treat for all you Ben Brode haters out there...Posted in: General DiscussionEspecially when that company is Blizzard, who's fan base is notorious for being hate filled ragers. Been that way since early Starcraft 1. It's probably just white noise for them by now, especially since said folks keep playing, and buying blizzard content anyway.Hearthstone is beating DOTA2 on twitch on a regular basis just on regular gaming sessions, nevermind tournaments. It's only getting beat by LoL, special events like Gamesdonequick and Overwatch.Their president is probably getting ready to buy their third island at this point with the staff making suggestions of what to put in it. -

Agithore posted a message on Predictions for the year!!Posted in: General DiscussionThey've already stated before that they'll be releasing 2 Expansions and 1 Adventure each year. That being said, I'm sure they'll want to end the year with a bang and a big expansion rather than an adventure. So, we'll be seeing an adventure next and then an expansion towards the end of the year.

Xynot posted a message on C'Thun Support cards need a HUGE nerf.Posted in: Card DiscussionThe two biggest cards for nerf bat right now is Call of the Wild and Flamewreathed Faceless. It is not likely that even those will see a nerf so how could anything C'Thun related be nerf-worthy?

CaHgO posted a message on Brode on Adding Cards to Classic Set, Deck Spotlights: Patron Warrior, Dragon Shaman, MalyLockPosted in: NewsCards should definitely be added to the basic/classic set overtime. But only cards that have proven to be with no good alternatives and cards that supplement various different play styles/archetype, not defining ones like Mysterious Challenger for example.
Otherwise the dev and card design team will have to redo same cards with different names all over again for every other expansion/adventure, because when certain cards rotate out and there's no viable replacement, a whole archetype goes in the trash can and we are left with very little variety once again.
I feel the introduction of standard was not what they hoped to be. Not sure about the rest of you, but I have been playing both modes and find MUCH MORE variety and different decks, cards, and archetypes in Wild vs. Standard.
Standard now revolves around a very limited number of decks/archetypes - mostly aggro + C'thun Druid. It's so boring and cumbersome to ladder and grind there. And I even find the tournaments now more boring. In wild you never know what you can expect, and what type, class, or flavor you are going to play against, which makes it much funnier, challenging, and with a lot more replay value.
As commented earlier in the thread, A LOT of classes don't have the tools to cope with the other classes, once certain cards are cycled out. If they don't add cards to the basic set over time, they will be playing this everlasting game of catching up and trying to balance the classes, which will be impossible, since the ones that will have more recently added "OP" cards (to cope with previous faults in lack of good cards for the class) will always be on top until the next phase out. For example what happened with Shaman.
In my opinion this whole Standard/Wild thing would have been completely meaningless and useless if Blizzard had the balls and skills to properly balance/update their cards along the way. One would think that a digital CCG would aim to do exactly this, since you can deploy all changes to all players all over the world simultaneously and everyone is at equal terms, but... it seems greed (for the laughably small amounts of dust they have to recover as "compensation" when a nerf occurs) is above user experience, balance, variety, and healthy meta. -

jim1608 posted a message on Brode on Adding Cards to Classic Set, Deck Spotlights: Patron Warrior, Dragon Shaman, MalyLockPosted in: NewsI won't say much about it since others already explained it pretty well.
They need to add cards to the classic set if only so it doesn't remove deck archetypes.
We will forever see freeze mage as the same deck because it's the only deck that only requires classic cards to work. No reason to build anything else if you're not swimming in dust, since you will lose it in one year or two
High efficiency cards will always dominate the meta as long as we don't have strong value cards on the neutral set.
We lost so many sticky stuff from naxxramas that we took from granted. Between Deathlord, Haunted Creeper and Zombie Chow the game ran out of cards to counter early aggression, and we just can't keep adding the same cards or a copy of each for every class that wants to play slower.
Same goes how healing. We lost Antique Healbot (RIP), and soon Reno too.
It's clear now that the classic is missing a few tools that can keep the game balanced. Especially on the neutral set. Adding them as expansion later is a horrible decision since you just postpone having to deal with the problem instead of fixing it.

GiantSalame posted a message on Shamman treatment for PriestPosted in: Fan CreationsThis is probably the worst design i have ever seen in hearthstone, including fan made cards, holy shit!
No, fk this type of cards and shaman treatment, Anduin needs Garosh treatment, having 4-5 decent, pro-active tempo cards that can make him more versatile, enough of priest filling his deck with removal/AoE and one sylvannas since "fk why i need to put threats if i can use the ones from my opponent?!".
