I literally cannot think of a worse brawl to have as a Brawlesium. Why this one?? This flavor of this brawl encourages you to tinker around with the minions in your deck to see which combinations are strongest at 1 mana, but making it a Brawlesium format completely throws that out the window. It took me 4 runs of tinkering with my Gonk druid deck to actually find which cards I liked and which I didn't, and by that point the entire ladder was infested with Shark Rogue and Mind Blast Priest because hardly anyone will invest 150 gold multiple times just to just tinker around with a cool mechanic. Because of that, everyone results to netdecking.

I'm actually dumbfounded how bad blizzard dropped the ball on this one. Even a totally random brawl would make a better Brawlesium than this.

I don’t even think it’s netdecking, people just quickly see that a certain deck crushes them and then they go make that deck. My first run I tried Hooktusk Rogue with a Mecha’Thun failsafe and did ok, but was eliminated by Malygos and Shark rogue decks that steamrolled me. After that, I adopted the same strategies and had big runs. It’s an unfortunate thing, but gold is gold and if Blizzard is going to charge us to play, I want to be sure I get my investment back.

Rogue feels the strongest BY FAR, thanks to Spirit of the Shark. Since the only way to buff minions is through battlecries and card play, Rogue is best situated to do that. I don’t know why you would risk 150 gold and play anything besides a Rogue deck. Went 10-3 with Malygos Rogue and then 12-2 with a battlecry rogue that abused Bonemare, Fungalmancer and Shadowstep to win games by turn 4-5. Lots of mirror matches, feels like everyone is quickly figuring out this strategy.

It’s a shame that this requires an entry fee, because it’s going to discourage experimentation. I may try to build a silence deck that counters this, but it’s hard to imagine it working too well when you sacrifice the initiative. Maybe a Quest Priest that runs a lot of silence effects?

Altar of Greater wins for me. Interesting mathematical possibilities for both players to consider. The others are either too clunky, IMO, or overpowered.

Great neutral 1-drop, and with Dire Mole and Fire Fly about to rotate, I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of this. The fact that it’s an epic will naturally limit it, since F2P players will have a hard time justifying the dust, but it’s an extremely powerful card in healing decks and the stats alone will make it a strong contender for the 1-spot in any deck.

When you play Murloc Tinyfin against the Lich King (In KotFT adventure mode), he says “I... love him.”

So Murloc Tinyfin should prob win.

Honestly might not even play any more standard ladder this month. All night it’s felt like people are trying to get in their last hurrahs with DK Rexxar and I’m sick of dealing with a new big-started lifesteal rush minion every turn. Will play arena when I want my HS fix, otherwise the rotation can’t come soon enough.

DK Jaina is much more annoying to me. Every other DK does 2 things, hers does 3 (summon a elemental, give elemental life steal, and change hero power). It's way to easy to comeback with DK Jaina and totally undeserved. Rexxar is rolll of the dice to get lifesteal and if its not rush or charge, it might end up being useless. The survivability of DK guldan and jaina are greater than rexxar. People can hate when he is able to roll a good answer to their board.

Agreed, she’s annoying too, but I haven’t been seeing her as much in standard lately. Rexxar is in nearly a third of my games.

Rexxar is the last of the cards that frustrate me in Hunter, it are all the dumb easy way to remove minions or swing the board. Like Flanking Strike, Tundra Rhino, Master Call to get a cheap refill, Candleshot, Hunters Mark still, the Lynxes and all while building a huge snowbally minion.

Flanking Strike should have never been printed, but at least you can play around most of these cards and match your opponent resource for resource (barring Flanking Strike, which is too much value for 4 mana). And they need to at least decide to put these cards in their deck. DK Rexxar’s hero power gives them crazy versatility and length, letting them stall out games with unpredictable big minions, including RNG high rolls that let them heal up and clear your board. All while not expending their other resources.

Just played against a Quest Rogue who played their fifth Novice Engineer... with 10 cards in hand. Instant concede. My sides 😆

Used Hex 3 times against a Big Priest (thanks to Krag’wa getting one back for me), hexing his 1/1 Statue and the two 5/5 statues he pulled the next two turns. Next turn, he plays Statue from hand (of course he pulls it three times while one is in his hand). I kill it, and then with a Rez pool of 3 frogs, Barnes and Statue, he discovers Statue twice. Fuck big Priest so hard.

Back to the drawing board on my magnetic quest idea. Originally the reward was a Mech that gained magnetic buffs from all of your mechs already in play, but probably wasn’t strong enough to justify the quest. This is a little more powerful... (still having trouble finding good art!)

I mean how many people out there really want a mode where they can play decks with unnerfed cards? You’d have maybe dozens of people queuing into each other, all playing Patron/Pirate Warrior.

Why not include the Quest here? Also, maybe Extra Arms over Velen’s Chosen, since you don’t need spell damage and each Extra Arms gives you two buffs.

In the middle of my best ever Arena run (and with Shaman, no less) and I’m almost too scared to keep playing!

Favorite win so far was game 7, when my opponent played Deathwing, clearing my board when I had basically nothing in hand. He went face instead of clearing my minions and I was able to kill it with Flametongue + Bloodlust, but not before he got me down to 6 health. We topdecked for the rest of the game and I was able to pull it out. Crazy luck this run!
