So what makes this a budget deck? The 2 legendaries + 2 epics or the fact that it has only 7 basic/common cards?

imo 2 legendaries and 2 epics is pretty budget these days when so many decks are running control + 5 or more legendaries + 'x' epics, etc.

well IMHO a deck that costs 5400 dust is not a budget deck. Just because some people drive a Lamborghini, doesn't make an Audi a "budget" car.

IIRC it is 5100 to craft EVERYTHING. That's still a lot, you're right. However, like i said, these days a lot of decks are running 4-5 or more legendary's ( and way more epics than this deck is using ) so I feel like this is a budget duck in retrospec to the current meta.

Nothing is 90% over the long-term (no deck is 80% either), unless the creator is only playing the practice AI. It's just a bullshit stat that people use hoping to get more eyes on their shitty decks.

It might not ALWAYS be 90%, but if something in a game based of RNG was always set in stone like that, there would be no need for deck building in the first place.

Which means it is not 90%. You don't get to pick your best win streak and decide that it's a 90% deck. LOL. I have a deck that has lost 99 games out of 100. But since it had a 1 game winning streak, it must be a 100% deck. Amirite?

Feel free to deck build and post your decks ... just don't try to bolster your deck with fake stats. Post the deck, and let people talk about it.

It is not a fake stat. Nowhere did I say it was a fake stat. I stated the best run with it in ranked was a 90% winrate. How do you think people find winrates to begin with?

They determine the winrate from games played. Not ALL games played EVER, because in the future the winrate could go down. It's impossible to post a deck and say "this will ALWAYS no matter what have X winrate" because you do not know what the future could bring for the deck / cards in regards to changes , etc.

The 90% winrate is the legit winrate of this deck.

Fun deck. Dunno about that 90% winrate though.

90% winrate , or any winrate for that matter ,is a statistic. In this situation, the best "run" I had with this deck was 12 games and 2 losses. Which is around a 90% win rate in ranked.

It might not ALWAYS be 90%, but if something in a game based of RNG was always set in stone like that, there would be no need for deck building in the first place.

Don't have nat pagle, swapped sylvanas in for it. Always a solid card :)

    Hah, true that.

    Gotta love Sylvy.

this loses so bad to warlock agro. No direct removal dead in 5 turns..

There is no issue with swapping some cards out to give you more of an edge for your meta.

This is simply the core of the deck that I provided.

That said, I haven't had too much of an issue with Warlock Aggro really, between all their minions make our UtH much more effective and Explosive Trap is great Board Clear vs them.

I found a Tundra Rhino as a better replacement for my Acolyte of Pain. I wonder if it would be worth using one over Flare since it has had many benefits.

I am not a fan of Tundra Rhino, the only beasts that really *need* charge are the hounds, to clear / trade up with...Could just be my playstyle though. Certain cards will work better with other people for any deck :b

What would you suggest to substitute for Nat pangle. I know he's a decent card, but atm I can't justify spending the dust on him.
It's tough to substitute Nat . He provides the early card draw you need while the deck is setting up its combo's. That said, you may be able to adust your mulligan's without Nat to get your draw combos out faster. I totally understand not wanting to spend the dust to craft him though.   So yeah, I would say there really is no replacement for him. You will have to adjust your mulligans and playstyle accordingly.   That said, without him I would add a second Kill Command probably.
Replacements: King for Nat Pagle Multi-Shot for Kill Command Acolyte of Pain for Flare (To assist with Draw until I obtain Nat)  I am very interested in trying out a Hogger for this build instead of Flare as it would add to the number of units on the field + provide some units with taunt.
Nice way to work around those cards ! Your idea of Hogger is interesting. I don't have one myself, but if someone does and would like to try it out, please let us know how he synergises with the deck. I did have a problem earlier though, where I was unable to summon the third Snake from my Snake Trap because my field was so crowded haha.

What is the ideal starting hand for this deck? Nice deck btw. Really nice deck.

Just tried it out 1 game, really fun deck, but I can't vouch for the 90% win. Lots of fun little combo's in it.

Thanks you two. I am glad you both tried it out and enjoy the deck. It is a lot of fun.

Takes some getting used to, but I am sure you'll get the hang of it quickly.

As I posted in the OP, the hardest part is knowing when to play your hand, and when to let your opponent just lay into you.

The ideal starting hand would include Nat Pagle ( He is your source for card draw before you land your combos. Or he forces removal, either way you benefit from playing him ) , Young Priestess ( To add survivability to your creatures, even when they get strong in attack they lack defense. that is one of this decks weaknesses ) , and Explosive Trap ( early removal and hero damage to by time for your combo's ), finally a Pint-Sized Summoner as well.

EDIT: 06/01/14 ** Up To Date**

Been a little while , Hunter forums!

For people who have seen my decks / stream...You know I do not like playing the FOTM / Overpowered classes .. They bore me.

Thus, I took a break from Hunter the past season. However, with the nerf to UtH , there are more possibilities for Hunter decks then ever before!

It is truly an exciting time to play Hunter again.

I took a fresh look at the Synergy Hunter deck and decided to re-vamp it for the current meta and the new season ! It's more of a simple deck now, and even more budget friendly. However, it still retains plenty of combo's to sweep the game away with.

Without further ado... I present; Viss Synergy Hunter 2.0 !

    Summary

The deck may be a simplified version of the original.

This does not mean, the deck is weaker however. Certain changes were made due to the change to UtH as well as the shift in the meta.

Personally, I find this deck to be a lot of fun. I've not pushed very far with it yet,

    There are two main strategies to the deck, which I will go over below;

    Strategy

With this deck , you'll usually end up playing either hyper-aggro or more combo-esque.

Depending on your match up and card draws, you may end up with early board control and a ton of early game pressure... Or , you'll end up making trades here and there, but mostly waiting to drop your low-cost cards together, in order to maximize their synergy's.

Example; Turn 2 Knife Juggler... OR , hold onto Knife Juggler and drop him a bit later with a UtH / before a Snake Trap proc.

**I'm not going to go into much detail here, as I plan on releasing a video very soon going over the strategy and plays of the deck, for those interested. The video will be posted right in this section of the post once I edit it in :) **

    Card Choices

-1 Flare ( not much need for cycle's in this deck and not many Hunters around to counter secrets. )

    - 2 Scavenging Hyena ( Too much silence currently, and other important 2 drops )

    - 1 UtH ( Most decks in the meta are not swarming the board as much as they used to, and I was tired of having a useless UtH in hand due to the increased mana cost.. It was actually a dead card more than I'd like to admit. )

-1 Nat Pagle ( He just doesn't fit the deck anymore. Better 2 drops for it. )

-2 Pint Sized Summoner ( This card was iffy the first time around.. However, I liked how it fit in. The issue , once again, is now there is more important 2 drops to use... Namely Owl. )

-2 Cult Masters ( We do not need that much draw anymore. )

-1 Leeroy Jenkins ( The increase to UtH really hurt our Leeroy combo. I also wanted to make the deck more budget friendly. However, he's a card I still strongly consider subbing in depending on match-ups. )

    ~

+ 2 Hunters Mark ( This is one of my favorite Hunter Cards around. It's really grown on me, and with all the 'token' or 1/1 cards we can get with this deck, it's amazing to take down a huge threat with a 1/1 . )

+ 2 Stonetusk Boar ( With the nerf to UtH we needed more cards to combo with Buzzard. This card is our man; plus he works well with many other cards in the deck, such as Knife Juggler and Hunter's Mark )

+1 Kill Command ( Most of my games end with 1 or 2 Kill Commands into Hero Power + attacks from board. Amazing card for removal, or to seal the game . )

+ 2 Savannah Highmane ( This is one of my favorite cards in the game. It brings such value to the table, and is exactly what we need to keep up pressure later in the game...not to mention the 2/2's he spawns fits the theme of buffing lower-end beasts up...combo's with Knife Juggler , etc ).

+2 Houndmaster ( We need taunts with all the burst in the game now. Fortunately for us, this generous guy buffs our free tokens up rather nicely. 1/1 Snake from Snake Trap turned into a 3/3 Taunt ? Yes please! )

+1 King Mukla ( This guy is awesome for tempo. If you're playing the deck more aggresively , Mukla makes a very powerful turn 3 play.. Along with the fact that the deck runs 2 owls; we are able to silence the banana's fed Creature our opponent might have if need be. This guy is an all star )

          - Replacement for King Mukla. I understand King Mukla is not that "budget" a perfect replacement for him is 1x Jungle Panther.

Jungle Panther has good utility with the shroud, and combo's well with Turn 3 JP into turn 4 Houndmaster.

    Cards to consider adding:

    * Leeroy Jenkins ( Finisher that combo's amazing with UtH. Unfortunately the increased mana cost of UtH really hurt this combo however. )

    * Bloodmage Thalnos ( Cycle + Spell Damage.. Solid card, but we do not have too many damaging spell cards in this deck. )

    * Arcane Shot ( If you sub these in, I'd recommend running Thalnos as well. )

    * Scavenging Hyena ( Works well with our tokens. Was part of the original Synergy deck.. However, silence seems to be played a lot in this meta; hence the removal. Could be brought back if you do not face to many silence cards.)

    * Mountain and Sea Giants ( If you prefer the token / combo aspect of this deck, I strongly recommend trying these out. It's not uncommon to get a Giant out by turn 4 or 5 with this deck, depending on how you play it. )

    Final Notes

This deck has lots of potential and room for tweaks here and there. You need to try it , and find your own playstyle. Perhaps some of my card choices do not fit your playstyle as they do mine..Which is why I included the "Cards to consider" portion above. If you've got an idea that I dod not think of, please mention it! I'm always open to hearing ideas on how to better improve my decks. I know there are lots of creative minds out there... I'd love to see what you guys come up with ;)

    Enjoy!

Oh, lastly...If you'd like to see the deck played in action or have any questions, feel free to check my twitch channel out, or to add my battle-tag. I am quite friendly....most the time ;)

    History

    The original deck from January , "Synergy Hunter", for those interested in checking it out;

    Synergy Hunter
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (20) Ability (10)
    Loading Collection

There are a few changes that can be used with this deck.
    I will list them here.

    1) You may swap [card]Pint-Sized Summoner[/card] with Flesheating Ghoul

    - I personally find the Ghoul over kill though, when you have a better version already in Scavenging Hyena

    2) Flare can be replaced. I personally love to have it as a 1 off though. It can win games vs decks that use secrets. The deck also needs more 1 drops, and a turn 1 Flare just to cycle through your deck is not a bad play if you have nothing else.

    3) Savannah Highman can be ran as 2 of instead of a 1 of. I actually prefer to run 2 to help with mid / late game. You can replaced a Snake Trap and add a Highmane.

    How to play the deck.

The entire focus of this deck is to maintain board control and a full hand. This is accomplished by your "combo's"
such as using Knife Juggler with Snake Trap or Unleash the Hounds.

The combination of those cards can put immeasurable damage on the enemy hero or destroy his field and can be done very early in the game.

You keep your hand filled with Cult Master using your "tokens" from UtH and Snake Trap.

Not only do those cards clear his field, but they refill your hand. A potent combination.

There are plenty of other "combo's" to use in the deck, and they are fairly straight forward. ( Mostly just buffing your minions with the Dire Wolf Alpha , etc.

    How to Finish:

Ending the game can come a few ways. You have Savannah Highmanex2. Also Leeroy Jenkins. ( the 1/1's Leeroy creates for your opponent can help with use UtH more effectively. )

Or you can simply buff your beasts up. With this deck you will usually have an entire field of beasts, even if your field is cleared, it can recover very fast. Buffing them even to 2 attack creatures will end the game fast. Normally they will be at least 3 attack though.

    Criticism

The deck, like any, has its weaknesses. The deck has LOTS of 2 drops. The reason for this is because you don't play them when you can. You play them together, synergize them. They need to be low cost so that you can drop 2 or 3 of them on the same turn. At the same time, you need to know when you play your cards early on and when to hold them off for your "combo's". That is the most difficult part of the deck.

That is the gist of it. Try the deck out yourself, I could type more paragraphs about it, but that would be pointless. You'll get the hang of it if you give it a wirl, and there is plenty of more in's and out's that you will see I did not go into. That is what makes this deck so fun.

    If you don't have all the cards you might need to play the deck, you're more than welcome to watch me play it here;

    www.twitch.tv/fortheundercity

I stream daily, so drop by , or if I am offline leave a follow, and you will be notified when I am online to watch the playstyle for this deck.

Also don't hesitate to leave constructive criticism or feedback here. Best of luck, and hunt well.
