Priest's Galakrond is considered the absolute worst of the five hero cards. The reason is simple. His hero power is too inconsistent. The pool of minions from before the rotation was filled was a bunch of bad/useless/situational cards. However, now that the rotation happened (and the class got a rework), the minion pool is more consistent and doesn't really have any absolutely terrible cards (maybe Lightwell, but even that card can be useful sometimes).
Galakrond, the Unspeakable benefits a lot more from a smaller minion pool. So, right now, he is in his best condition. When the next expansion arrives, he is more likely to become worse rather than better (unless absolutely all Priest minions from the next set are good). His hero power is going to become more and more inconsistent as new minions arrive. So, if you want to try playing with him while he is relatively consistent, this is the best time to do so. In wild, he is just an eternal meme as he really can't compete with the likes of Shadowreaper Anduin and the minion pool is gigantic. He is a fun card to play with so i wanted to recommend him to people while he is viable competitively. This isn't likely to last for a long time.
It is not bad but you have better priest decks or Galakrond decks to play.
If you like and have fun of course, it is a playable deck but if you want to play competitive look somewhere else.
It's true that there are better Galakrond decks out there. But, according to the latest meta report from Vicious Syndicate, Highlander Priest (which uses the card) is the best performing Priest deck, right now. I'm not saying people should play this if they want to make it to legend or something like that. This is not the best way to play competitively. The card is at its highest possible level of consistency ever, but it's still inconsistent. There are better options for competitive play. But, for the Priest lovers and those who want to test the card, this is best time to do so. Things will only become worse as time goes on.
A couple of days ago I had the 60g quest 'Play 3 games as Priest/x/x' and as I didn't have any competitive deck for any of the 3 classes I decided to put together a random 'Galakrond Priest' deck with whatever pieces I had available + some generally useful class cards. I went 2-1 against proper meta decks and I have to say I loved the archetype enough that I seriously consider crafting the cards required to properly play it, and I was surprised that not more people play it. The value generation from the invokes is very high that you don't really miss your lack of card draw that Priests suffer from. Yes there is some RNG involved, but as said above there are very few 'bad' minions you can get.
And indeed last couple of days while grinding above D5 I noticed that most priest players I faced were playing 'Gala' rather than 'Rez'...
