I know it's late this season but I plan on trying to reach rank 8 next season so I was wondering what I should do with an amount of dust I've been collecting. I am a f2p/budget player and my dream is to be able to reach rank 5 consistently so I can collect dust to craft cards I want/need or are required to have to stay competitive in this game.
There are 3 decks that have really caught my eye but each one has different requirements so I'll go to their heroes and cards I need
I have both blackrock and naxx planning to buy LOE
I am going in depth because I am really deciding on how to use my dust with this so please hear me out on which route I should take and how
Paladin
The card that I was looking at crafting was 2 quartermasters and coghammer, but my friend said I should craft tirion saying tirion > 3 epics which I'm not sure should I craft tirion I would wait 1200 dust to make the rest but I could get 2 different kinds of paladin one with tirion and mc, the regular midrange (like i said don't have those epics or murloc knight) already have aggro secret so if I were to take this route should I craft tirion or epics?
Druid
I've been recked multiple times by midrange and combo and was wondering how competitive this deck is not going into much details but i need 3 epics too (2 lores and 1 force of nature) and a couple rares from tgt pack (savage and aspirant)
Warlock
The only deck I would be able to make is a regular handlock judging from cards I need i require 1 molten and jaraxxus (sylvannas can wait I'll replace with loatheb) I heard it's difficult to play but after a while I'd be able to play it
Sorry for writing alot I'm not really looking for preference since I wish to be good with all heroes (though I'm really good with paladin and mage at least i think i am). As you can see from my other threads I've been debating alot on what I should craft.
If anyone reads this could you please respond I'm looking for many really thought out opinions before making my decision.
Well, the meta is shifting quite fast due to the release of the wings of LoE but I don't think Combo Druid is really good right now, since it struggle a lot against aggro. Handlock, same thing. I feel like the meta is still quite fast to play normal Handlock. Honestly, if you want to get to rank 5 every season to improve your collection, the best way (unfortunately) is playing Secret Paladin. It's just the strongest deck right now, can't say much here. So, I guess if I were you I would craft the Mysterious Challengers and play this cancerous deck.
handlock is quite strong actually, with brann bronzebeard u get lots of heal from healbot. so its not that bad against aggro, and handlock is favoured against almost any control decks except freeze mage but like you said. its difficult to play so you need a bit of practice.
Handlock is by far the harder choice to play. Midrange Paladin and combo druid would be ranked as medium difficulty to play (but only because easy is allready occupied by the face hunter decks.. Midrange Paladin and combo druid are also quite easy to play.. Well especially Combo Druid is quite fool proofed but also very boring to play in my opinion)
I prefer Handlock from your mentioned decks by far because it is just fun to play but I have also tested all 3 decks recently in the ladder and Midrange Paladin did the best.
If you take Paladin you really should buy (as you have planned) LoE because the new Keeper of Uldaman is a great addition to midrange Paladin. Your friend is probably right, I would also pick Tyrion before Coghammer and Quartermaster. I would craft: Tyrion > Quartermaster > Coghammer > Murloc Knight and than if you need it 2nd Quartermaster. (a lot of Midrange Palas don't use 2 Quartermasters anymore because of the new Keeper)
If you take Handlock be ready to change your deck regulary -> top Handlock players change some cards of their decks nearly every week because the deck is really good in adopting to current Meta styles. + be aware that you need quite a few games before being effective. It is quite challenging to not "panic" when your health drops dangerously low. In fact most (not one sided) Handlock games are on the thin line to lose because Handlock loses a lot of life + heals a lot + taunts a lot but instead of taking Loatheb instead of Sylvannas you might consider the demon Handlock variant. Yes usually you have a Mal'Ganis in it but 2 Voidwalker + 2 Doom Guards allone could be sufficient until you have enough dust to switch to the standard Handlock.
People need to stop looking at those tempostorm, liquid or whatever sites. it doesnt mean shit honestly.if you are good and invest enough time you will get legend thats what i can say.

I agree with you, but some people who are not that skilled enough will struggle really hard to get to legend without a nice meta deck. I think instead of looking TempoStorm, people should track your own matches and see what YOU are facing the most, than adjust your current deck or even switch to another one that is better against more popular decks.

That's a separate skill though, to know what to swap out and what deck to swap in. Most people aren't good at making their own decks. It's similar to not being able to make your own car.
Thus why I think it's ok if they look at Tempostorm or other people for decks. It's never going to be as good as learning to do it yourself but for the majority that can't then it's a fine alternative. Bah, even the folks who CAN need a starting point: to see what decks work and why before they can get to making their own.
As far as the OP:
On Paladin: Your friend is right. Double quartermaster is only suitable for SOME midrange paladin decks. Many don't use him or just use one. However, EVERY SINGLE Paladin deck that's not hyperaggro will use Tirion. Thus if you want any sort of dedicated Paladin deck, Tirion is your focus. Though do note that you can keep running aggro paladin decks without either.
Thus final verdict: Tirion or nothing. Either option is fine.
Druid: Well, there IS aggro druid which doesn't use Lores, so that's a thing. otherwise, you'll need the Lores to make him work. As far as strength: he's a VERY strong deck, though not as strong as Paladin overall. Though it sounds like you need quite a few cards (Savage isn't needed, though a fine option. Aspirants are required though) so it might be best to let this sit for now.
Warlock: 1 molten, jaraxxus, no sylvanas, and it's regular handlock, meaning I bet you don't have Mal'ganis for demonlock. Pass on this one for now. For the meta, I'd go demonhandlock as it's more reliable in the early/midgame and ladder is rather fast. It's a great deck, but there's too much to build now to get to it.
Of the choices (I imagine these are the three you are most interested in or closest to making) I'd go for Tirion. Even if Mysterious gets nerfed or you don't like secret paladin, midrange is still a strong deck. And I always like focusing on decks that only need 1-2 cards to make. Thus go Tirion and if you really REALLY like paladin then make the quartermasters later on, and then start work on Druid/warlock or whatever you desire next.
Don't know if this has been said elsewhere in the thread, but imo Handlock is a deck with staying power throughout many meta shifts. It's core mechanics, synergies, and high skill cap have allowed it to be around since basically the beginning of Hearthstone in one capacity or another. Much like Control Warrior, it's power level might shift from month to month, but it will always be viable in some capacity or another.
Honestly though, Paladin probably just has more raw power at the moment and can win games off of the back of having the best curve in the game, so you will get your share of free wins just from doing that. I just hate to see more Paladin on ladder...

Anybody?
Facehunter can consistantly get you to five and it's very cheap since you have the first two adventures. If getting to five is your goal.

Midrange Pala seems pretty good
MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY MURLOC PALADIN DECK :)
If you already have paladin deck i would go handlock. It takesa long to get good but it is really fun.
Tempostorm says midrange pally is better but then again that takes skill

Who can take your trash out?
Stomp it down for you?
Shake the plastic bag
and do the twisty thingy, too?
Handlock is no longer competitive. It is ranked around 14th in the latest Liquidhearth power ranks.

There is too much secret pallys out there.
One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
None of those if you want to win join the talentless masses still playing face huntard
The easiest way is secret pally with Tirion I guess. Midrange pally with Tirion or combo druid is ok too. Handlock is much harder to climb I believe.
English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.

Handlock isn't in good shape right now.
Mid Druid is kinda meh.
Midrange-Control Paladin is a beast right now.
