Why? in this thread, why? It is called, "headed for legend" - not "scrub therapy session"... there is no point at all to look down at certain decks when your objective is to rank as highly as possible - so just leave it at that, there is ample of other threads on this forum where you can rage all day long about "caaaancer" and how blizzard is raping "cooooool control players" like you...
Just curious, what's the biggest jump anyone has seen from "best rank" to "legend". Curious what are realistic expectations. My goal for this month is to keep up with my daily quests.
there is people claiming to have hit Leg in the first or second month of their carreer, but those are usually former semi-pros in other games like MtG and they really went deep in Hearthstone ... In the end it all depends on the hours you are willing and able to play: If you already have solid knowledge of the game together with some talent at strategy games and the willingness to spend some 5-8 hours a day there is no problem in jumping from, say rank 10 in former months to legend immediately ... realistically though, if you usually hover at ranks 10-5 and are not willing to really drastically change your gaming attitude, it will take some months...
From my example: I look back on some MtG History and got into Hearthstone in beta, but really only played arena the first 6-7 months (and not that often). Last November I decided to go for it, the first time, ultimately failing because of too much travelling and shitty internet connection in the last 2 weeks of the season (I finished at 5), in December I went to rank 1, 5 stars before christmas, then loosing the boss fight and tilting back down to 3 - and I was not willing to spend Christmas with Hearthstone ... In January, i finally made legend pretty early, around the 20th of the month ... so I think, usually somewhere between 2-5 tries is feasable...
P.S.: I always worked fulltime while doing it - not more that 1-2 hours during weekdays and 4-5 hours at one day of the week-end ...
to all the facehunters: do you feel comfortable with the deck? To me it seems like it really lost a lot of power in the current meta - it seems kinda outclassed by other decks: Patron is owning it, CW and (Dragon) Priest too, even Secret Pally is not better than even...

Yesterday after the reset I went 4-0 with it, so the start was good. I do not expect it to be a top deck and the results are largely depend on the meta. A few decks counter it nicely, so if you face lots of warriors or druids, it is not a good choice.
Unfortunatly i do not have the statistics here @the office lol but yesterday i played for 4 hours more or less, starting from rank 17 the new season.
What i mainly met has been
- Fhuntard (10 games lol)
- Paladins / Patron / Tempo mage
- others
how about you ? Considering this Fhuntard predominance i will start CW easy going, than switch to a Shaman deck i am trying that kind of works against most of the MU.. but not hunter lol

Im feeling pretty good with it in the current meta. I agree with getting owned by CW and Dragon Priest, but Patron is a pretty good matchup yet. My Winrate against secret Pally and Patron is around 70%. Last Season I hang around rank 7/8 with different Decks as Handlock and Tempo Mage, with Facehunter i rushed rank 3 pretty fast.
Ok, but then you played pretty bad Patrons ... Usually the Matchup should be (and will be) in Patron's favor at higher ranks!

ok, I suppose if everything is aggro, facehunter still is a good choice - it is usually the king of aggro after all ... I just think that secret pala (aggro) should be the better aggro pile in a diverse meta!

I don't know how good Secret Paladin is performing against other decks, but i made the experience that Hybrid Hunter is not performing bad against Druids and Control Warrior and is really good against Secret Paladin. Won around 80-90 % against Secret Paladin last season.
Intend to climb to rank 10 using dragon priest, as dragon priest is sort of anti-agro. Followed by control warrior / handlock to rank 5. Not aiming for legend, im not skilled enough ;(

Since I spent some time with both facehunter and midrange hunter. Midrange seems stronger to me, but I'm not a great hunter player so others might have different opinion.
Currently rank 13, just playing dragon rogue and patron warrior for a while, this time I'll get legend with mage or warlock since I got it with hunter last season.
mid range pally! no secrets ... all out in the open with the exception of the two blessings of kings that nobody plays around :P
It's 5-0 against that stupid fel reaver druid that everyone seems to be playing and 18-6 overall to almost rank 9. Half the loses come from grim patron warrior which can only be beat by making other matchups worse.
I started this season with freezemage. Goes through pala, priest, mechmage and facehunter like butter. Only warrior i met so far was a probably first time patron who more or less defeated himself.
What makes me a bit salty though are the flare hunters. Is that realy a good card? isnt the paladin matchup like 75% anyways? I feel like im the colleteral damage to their stupidity. feelsbadman. Probably switch to some boring druid deck when i get too salty.

Is dragon priest still viable? If so, What can be replaced for Ysera?

Good luck everyone!
I will be SMOrcing my way up to 5 or so, since I only need 82 wins for golden Hunter. 5-0 with it today, sitting at 14/2.
After that I'll switch to whatever is strongest.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
Face Hunter Stay salty my friends
