Grim Patrons are easier to beat. Takes them some time to get the cards they need and if you throw off their flow then they are just a harmless kitten and pose no threat at all. Sure they will win some matches with great draws but I've never had an issue beating them and when I've played that deck at times it was a beautiful win and other times.. well not so much.
Face hunters onthe other hand.. well you need great draws at the right time and that isn't always possible. It's a cheap deck that takes no skill and one thing will fix it. That 2 hero power to the face is what makes it work. Should be 1 damage like each and every other damage dealing hero power.
Because there's already decks that tear apart face hunter. Patron is one of them. Note that it's hard to tell when you are facing opponents who aren't that adapt at using the deck. It's why top players have moved on to hybrid or midrange hunter. Face hunter is reserved for lower ranks mostly, as the faster games help it a lot and many players can't handle the deck.
People's perspectives have a lot to do with their ranking. I'm a 3 month old player and I'm currently sitting at 11. I'm seeing a ton of face hunters and eboladins. In the lower ranks, people are trying to climb as quickly/efficiently as possible.. so they play aggro decks.
After rank 10, it seems Patron Warrior is more effective to play. I'm only 280 dust away from having a patron set.. might do it in order to rank up.
No the problem isn't the hero ability. Face Hunter mostly just punishes overly greedy decks which should be kept in check anyways. Yeah some good archetypes have problems against Face Hunter but it is so easy to tech against them anyways. While teching against Grim Patron isn't really possible.
Anyways.. Haven't faced a single Face Hunter this season at all I think (but some Hybrid and Midrange Hunters) Most aggro decks I see are Eboladins.
The idea about the Hero ability change is terrible. If they want to make one of the 3 bad hero abilities even more terrible they would have to compensate this with way more powerfull class cards.

On my mage Patron warrior has no chance to win. I've never lost against a Patron Warrior on my mage. Kinda fun as they run out of cards and have nothing at all that they can do.
Most players of HS will do better with a face hunter deck than a GP deck. This is pretty much as close to certainty as you can come in HS analysis. This, however, is fairly irrelevant when it comes to "what people should complain about".
I never quite understood why miraclerogue where demolished while Patronwarrior got the thumbs up. Dealing with facehunter is simple, dealing with frothings and a 25dmg+ burst in one turn is not.
Grim Patron Warrior can beat any deck except for Fatigue Mage (maybe). People complain about Patron Warrior mostly because of the outrageous damage Frothing can get and the huge amount of armor.
OP thinks Patron Warrior is "easy" to beat because he probably didn't run into experimented Patron players.
And to those defending the face hunter(they're probably playing the class themselves): Just because Blizzard are severely lacking in doing regular balancing(ultimately their default), doesn't mean that you should exploit that and create a toxic environment for the HS player base. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD, which also applies to many other aspects of life.
Exploit? Ridiculous. FaceHunter is working as intended. Have you ever played any other CCG before? Every single one worth it's salt has an aggro equivalent to facehunter. Hell, aggro decks are regularly played at top level Magic Pro Tours. If you can't come up with something to beat aggro, you really need to re-evaluate how you're playing the game.
Here's a couple examples from MtG that are played at top level events and will make you tear your hair out if you happen to run into one unprepared at FNM.
But yea, fundamentally, it might just be the hero power that needs a drastic change. Off the top of my head, I was thinking something like, "give +1/+1 to a beast", as the hero power, seeing as their main theme IS in fact beasts. It's a fair hero power and would mitigate the crazy fixation with "face".
I don't think that you would really like that. This sounds like the strongest hero power for a zoo deck. Actually I would love a class with something like this since I love playing tribal decks (nearly all my Magic decks in the good old time, were decks about certain tribes) but I think this would be really strong.

My solution to this is not to complain, just look at the past, before gvg came out, pretty much everyone was playing facehunter. When GvG came out, atleast one third of players (maybe even more) started making mech"insert hero name" decks. Everyone was angry, sad, depressed etc. When BRM came out, alot of them started playing Patrons and didnt stop to this day and wont stop until they get legend or something, and now when TGT is released, you will find a new deck that will be stronger than all the others and cry to the whole Forum. My advice to you is instead of whining, pick a hero you like and start experimenting with cards, maybe you will find the solution to the problems you are facing.

play all of the other classes against grim patron several times before you start spouting nonsense again...

oh this explains it... freeze mage? so you expect everybody to start playing freeze mage?
edit: mech mage and giant mage might work too. not really sure with tempo deck, unless using iceblock secret.
but then again do you expect everybody to play mage? i won't... after i got my golden heroes (mage is one of them), i don't play them anymore, unless for finishing quest

http://mtgtop8.com/format?f=ST - Meta for the last two months worth of Magic Pro events. 86% of decks played? Aggro or some variation of.
I don't play other card games and can't speak of those or anyone but myself and what I gather from the majority of aggravated HS players. I understand the archetypes that exist within the meta, and what counters what. Usually, overall the control decks stack up well against aggro as well as other control decks, but a "regular" control deck just won't cut it against face hunter, where you'll need to overly emphasize the use of certain tech cards(ooze, kezan, heal mechanics, taunts...you name it), and that will diminish the efficiency of the deck's performance against most other decks. Yea, it doesn't take a genius to eff up a face hunter, but doing so will most likely weaken you against other deck archetypes. That's the freaking issue; not disputing the existence of face/aggro, but merely the balance of it.
It's not like the effing HS client warns you about which class you are about to face, thus giving you an option to choose a deck accordingly.
That's how CCG's work. Archtypes are rock, paper, scissors.
Yes, I agree HS doesn't let you know who you're facing next and you have no option to sideboard for that match but you can still build a relatively cheap deck that works against many matchups. I play a Mech Mage leaning more to mid than aggro and I win 50-60% of games against facehunter. The match that stuffs my deck up most is Patron or Control Priest. It's just the way it works.
I also play a Mid Hunter and don't have trouble vs Face. Once again it's a well played Patron that will get me every single time.
Still people crying about face hunter? It's just a 50/50 nearly every single matchup except for hand lock which gets rekt and warrior which wrecks it. Hunter can do max 14 damage in a turn -- turn 9, with a 33% buffer chance -- and if you're at turn 9 and they have that, you've probably already stabilized or have a taunt to save you.
Grim patron has over a 50% chance every single game, except maybe hand lock. Patron is still half viable past turn 9 (and beyond) unlike hunter. Patron has ways to take board control easily, clear the board pretty easily, and draw cards. And, if they get behind, they have amazing comeback / lethal possibilities. Non of which hunter can do (except, maybe, unleash, which you should have played around) Patron you don't really have the possibility to play around super combo etc.
Still think hunter is the cancer?

Why complain about Patron Warriors and FaceHunter?
Problem is people complaining.
I am a servant of the world. And if I'm a servant, then you should consider yourself a tool, at best.

At certain Ranks I ran into Facehunter Gates. Seemed like everyone was running it.
You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.
CW vs Face hunter is so funny xD

Kill Command shouldn't be able to target face.
It's just abusive the way it is, it add 10 points of free burn to the deck.
They gave hunter the most unfun hero power in the game and they JUST NOW are trying to compensate for their mistake that is 2 years running.
