I had a dream last night (yes I sometimes dream about Hearthstone) where there was an additional rarity category above Legendary: Artifact.
The construction restriction would be that you may only include one Artifact per deck. For example, you would not be able to simultaneously put Frostmourne AND Book of Medivh in the same deck; even though they are different cards you must choose one or the other.
Probably not viable for Hearthstone. Probably would cause tons of P2W community rage. Certainly unnecessary and would be a ton of work to balance. Just wanted to get my dream out there. I think my subconscious simply wanted to wield Frostmourne, but that could easily be added as the first Legendary weapon one day.
I'm not sure where I want this thread to go. If you feel compelled to comment I think I'd prefer for a more upbeat "here is my fantasy card!" brain dump rather than a "you're stupid this would never be viable" thread.
I get how when we wake up we really wish what we dreamt to be reality :)
If they could make this mechanic a free one then it would be amazingly cool. Maybe "Once you get to 3,000 wins with a class, get that class's artefact"

Id rather have it for 10 bucks. If you are willing to grind 3,000 wins with one class then go to shit job for an hour or two and you can get your artifact.
I daydream about hearthstone when I'm bored and a swear it makes time fly. As for the Artefict idea, I think it's really clever, how about each class having a legendary weapon or spell they can use, unlocked by reaching level 60 with that hero? They'd have to be balanced and potentially gimmicky so that there's no complaints about having cards being unavailable to craft or find in packs.
dust cost should be like 20k for the regular version.
It would be pretty cool if the effect was so good it would be a near auto-include but maybe also benefit the other player as well.
Such as, the artifact raises life totals of each player to 75.
Some people might play it in control decks or not play it to get a card advantage and hope the opponent plays it.
Could be fun - i think they should raise the life total anyways. 75 life would reduce all the "i drew my combo and now you are insta-gibbed" decks. skillstone.
i bet they are eventually going to come up with an idea similar to this. i mean, eventually they are going to come up with something new that doesn't involve card expansions or adventures.
Regardless of availability, it would be dumb to lose matches because your opponent drew their deck's artifact and you didn't draw your deck's artifact.

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.

I wish I dreamt about Hearthstone. Jealous.

I like the idea. Artifacts shouldn't even be a card, it should be an add-on to the match. It functions for the entire match.
Like someone suggested, "Raise each player's health by XX" or "Cards in hand cost X less"

Unnecessary. I would much rather see side progression. Not vertical.
Would it be CRAZY! Yes!
You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.
I legit dreamed about heathstone last night.
TGT was released....then I woke up...and I was sad.
