So I have a golden hunter and a golden mage, and while I love Jaina and her emotes too much to ever cover her up, Rexxar is awful and I bought Alleria in a heartbeat.
I read a little bit about how the new skins would interact with golden heroes, but I was still a bit disappointed. Golden Alleria is only different from regular Alleria by the gold border around the hero power. The golden tray and it's satisfying sparkle are gone (I blew some dust on golden hunter weapons to make myself feel better) and it feels like a step backwards because I've been so spoiled by the gleam of Rexxar's awful, ugly mug. My biggest complaint here comes from the bottom border of the tray, which has actually reverted to the same boring, dull gray of the dumb, un-seasoned heroes I never bothered to subject to the ladder. (cough, thrall, cough.)
Dear Blizzard,
Please make the entirety of the Hero Tray shiny and new for me. I gave you my money, the least you can do is make me the slightest bit more attractive for my opponents, (because we all now the golden border doesn't actually make me a better player, and the F2P nerds will still beat me.
Thanks,
Andrew
Has this bothered anyone else? there's also some inconsistency with what appears golden, and what doesn't on different screens, (The hero power on the deck page appears wooden, for example) and it feels like Blizzard cut a few corners here.
I think the different heroes are a neat idea. I haven't gotten any because i want to wait to see what others come out.
From what I am hearing though other then the change in emotes there isn't anything different with how any of them interact with other classes or certain minions. Is that right? If so that is a little disappointing.
I was also hoping for maybe some card appearance changes for the new heroes as well. For example I don't really see the dwarven warrior using a fiery waraxe or Gorehowl.I always like new content.
It would be cool enough if the tray would turn golden the monent you have 500 wins with the specific class. It does not need to be golden by default when someone buys a new hero.

Oh, I agree completely. What I'm saying is, I already had 500 wins with the Hunter, and Alleria's Tray isn't Golden...

I thought they were supposed to be. Maybe it's a bug of some sort?
Why are you addressing Blizzard on an unofficial Hearthstone forum?
Dear Funckle,
I'm sorry the artistic liberties I took in the original post confused you. It was merely for effect, and if I had any desire to actually contact Blizzard, this is surely not the place I would do it. Next time I will dumb down my posts for you. No I won't.
Is this what everyone else sees? Is this what it's supposed to be? It feels shoddy, unfinished and inconsistent. I don't understand why it isn't uniform across the board.
yeah its like that. for 10 bucks you would expect something more clear. someone once mentioned that they should have put more time intothe actual cosmetics than into the cinematics for it. So true. I hope theyll change it soon.

Lol, artistic liberties. Well done answering a simple question with an attemp to insult me. With creativity comes great smartassery.

Turns out, as ButtSeriously said below, that it is in fact a bug.
This is copied and pasted from a post in the bug section. I checked before posting this, but didn't catch the post:
"Greetings,
Please research issues before posting as this topic has been covered.
There are some current issues with gold appearances and the new heroes. These are bugs. We are aware of the matter and looking into it. Thanks!
Only the rim around hero power and dudes are golden.
The side borders are all gray dull color.
What? It's not a bug, I don't think a bug like this would run live over 8 months. It's most likely intended design decision, even though it's a crap one.

This fucking guy.... wow.
Thought i was on a gaming forum for a second, not prestigiouspricks.org
That's a bug. It'll get sorted. The tears can now stop...
One year and 6 days later, I think it is fair to say that there was no reason to stop crying nor complaining :/
I don't have Alleria, but I do have Liadrin and Khadgar. And it is a pity Blizzard paid no attention to these details :(
PS. I have every class golden at this time, the only reaason i dont have Alleria is this bug. (Khadgar was a present from a friend, i don't even have an iphone)

I suppose it could be a bug...
For clarification, here's what I'm seeing.
Is this what everyone else sees? Is this what it's supposed to be? It feels shoddy, unfinished and inconsistent. I don't understand why it isn't uniform across the board.

Golden hero portraits still not fixed?
I think they should add the golden frame
Glad to know it is a bug.
It is same with Lady Liadrin on a golden paladin,
Only the rim around hero power and dudes are golden.
The side borders are all gray dull color.
Can someone do a skype session with bennie-boy to short this out for us?
