I hope it to be someplace to relax and forget all about Dr. Boom, Patron Warriors and top-deck Quick Shot into Quick Shot into Kill Command. Like a Hearthstone spa where there only is Nat Pagle fishing, Sylvanas dancing and the Secretkeeper massaging you.
and away from tempo mage's turn 2 apprentice into turn 3 waker coin splurge hand then capping it off with the double fireball that they ALWAYS have.
It most likely, will be a cosmetics button, since Blizz has announced that there will be more heroes coming in the future.
It could also be the collectibles tab where you can easily manage your card backs, heroes and maybe even achievements.
Personally I would really like to see a new game mode where you could play with your existing decks and earn cool stuff, just like in the arena. I digress, knowing blizzard it will be a button to sell your soul for a card back or a card that has fancy animations but doesn't hold any merit in the game. Only TIME will TELL what it really will be.
I personally am leaning away from anything like a "Cosmetics" or Collections type button for a few reasons. Firstly I just personaly want it to be some sort of new game mode. Secondly, I have this feeling that they wouldn't release all the information regarding a new hero and that they will be doing more cosmetic heroes in the future, and then shortly after that have a teaser just to reveal a button that leads you to those heroes. To me that would be like them announcing the new Hellfire Citadel raid in WoW and then teasing with a big castle door just to reveal its the entrance to the raid.
So I feel like it could still be a cosmetic/collections button but my personal feeling tells me its a new game mode or something more game changing even if it is not something as big as 2v2 or raids or even tournament.
I guess, it'll be a "Tournament" mode, but not for tournaments usually streamed at twitch.tv, but more like Arena for constructed decks.
You pay 150 gold entry fee and select three of your constructed decks. Then you can play against other players in a BO5 conquest format. As soon as you lost 3 (or won 12) matches you'll get rewarded for your performance.
Main recapping : 1. NO 2v2 game mode, because blizzard are not working and not worked on coop mode
2. NO button for cosmetics, change hero will be implemented in the collection tab (and if it's true that will be used for cosmetics, why blizzard need to hide it, I mean Blizzard just told us that will be new Heroes, so why blizzard need to be so mysterious about it)
3.The main buttons are used for GAME MODES (Play, Solo Adventure, Arena...)
4. Zhang Dong (Blizzard's partner for Chinese operations), stated on a site that the main content of the new patch are not the new heroes but something more bigger than that
In conclusion i think and i hope that the new button will be used for a NEW GAME MODE that will bring more fun to the game
You forgot the "watch recordings" button, as suggested a few time... As far as I'm concerned, I would not be surprised they implemented this, simply to cut back on tickets (and millions of posts) from people who claimed somebody cheated (ex.: Playing 2 Dr. Boom). Auto record, keep the last 5 games. You hit the button, and you can see the replay of those games (and maybe upload it). Would be nice as well for newcomer to see when they played something wrong.
But as much as I would like an auto record game, my vote is for a tournament mode as well.

A "tournament" feature where you enter a tournament of say, 16, 13, 128 whatever # of people would be nice for the handful of people that organize these types of tournaments, but it would be an AWFUL feature.
The problem with these types of tournaments is that they take all day. And if you finish your game, your just waiting around for the other person in the next bracket to finish their game... BORING.
So I'm thinking, more like a "constructed arena" which is essentially a tournament format. Hopefully with multiple decks, conquest format.
Cool alternative would be "sandbox mode". I've wanted a sandbox mode for a while. It would basically allow you to setup any viable game state using all the cards and having control of both sides of the board. Once you have everything set the way you want you click "play" and you can start playing both sides of the game. It would be a way to test card interactions without having to own the cards and wait for the perfect setup to occur when you're playing against a friend. That would be really nice for all the "what if" type situations. Too often you see people having to experiment in game and it costs them a lot when things don't work the way they want.
Just a simple example is that I believe mana wyrm gets the attack boost when you play a spell into counter spell. However, flamewaker does not attack when you play a spell that gets counter spelled. Obviously the difference in the card text is the key, but you still want to test it to be sure.

Record would be a wasted feature to record games you can just download xsplit or obs only a click of a button. Much rather see a tournament mode
2vs2 is my personal dream but Blizzard have ruled it out this time. Hopefully the clamour for this mode will increase until they do it but it will require a hell of a lot of balancing. Indeed, Blizzard's reluctance to build 2vs2 may be due to the fact that it would require its own set of nerfs, which they may be loathe to do.
Tournament mode would be a close second for me. They might even get me spending hard cash on it, something I haven't done for 6 months, apart from purchasing BRM.

I think you have missed the point of the suggestion - you would queue up with three decks - and then you are matched against a player with the same number of wins/losses as you, who is queuing at the same time. - then, when you have lost 3 times you are out - if you manage to win 5,6,7 before you lose 3 then you get better rewards!.... no waiting for the rest of the bracket to finish and no need to play all day you can queue up weeks apart if you want to
That's exactly what I mean. I listened to "the Angry Chicken" podcast last night, they were calling for it to be something to help tournament organizers so they don't have to have them add to each other's friend lists, manage brackets, etc... (which as I said above I think is a terrible idea)
What you've described is great. The one thing I wonder though is, should I queue up for 3 matches against the same person? or different people until I've exhaused my 3 decks. Which would be basically, "constructed arena".
Point taken. Ive been misleaded ..

You will be hunted down.

this game needs to have a 4-5 card side deck if this is the case.
Hopefully its a practice mode where I can choose the AI's deck that they will play with.

Ok many many thoughts about what might be,... but any thoughts WHEN it will happen???

What do you think instead?

I would puts odds on this being exactly right.

Tournaments is my bet.

So indeed might be tourney mode, brawl style

For the ignorant (me) what is "brawl style"?

Like the card BRAWL ... Many participant one winner...
ohhh, I thought it might mean a particular tournament set up.
