I have returned to hearthstone (again) after leaving it in January. I have bought the 2 welcome back bundles and the barrens mini-set. I never touched arena or battlegrounds so here's my first question: Is it worth getting any barrens packs? I want to get back in hearthstone properly but I need to know what's worth getting. Next: What's a good deck to make for this current meta? I have plenty of cards, or about 40% of the entire collection according to the achievements, but what's working nowadays? Thanks for your help, I'm not too eager to spend money on packs just yet, if the new stormwind pre-order seems worth it then let me know. Thanks again all! :D ;)
If they still have the premade decks for $20, you can go with the rush warrior one. I've played since release so I already had all the cards but the rush warrior deck they released was pretty solid, and I've played rush warrior to legend each month since the rotation.

Barring mulluks suggestion to run as fast as you can and not look back (which is actually not the worst idea) I would say just look at the cheapest high WR decks on HSreplay and pick your poison. If you want to have a little more fun while still considering semi-viable ladder decks you could look at legend decks on hearthstone top decks or a similar site but generally the archetypes/decklists are pretty similar to those you might find on hsreplay. And yes, I would propose that generally speaking barrens packs are worth it, but I would suggest you first decide which decklist you want to play and then decide which packs to purchase in accordance with which cards you would need from said decklist. GL man.
I'd just pick a deck archetype that you like the look of and focus your time and energy into playing just that deck (assuming you're limited by your collection)...compare what you have available to some standard decks that are floating around and try to find a fun fit.
Ignore all the people complaining it's an "RNG Fest" etc (who strangely are still on said games forum despite claiming the game is bad.) and just enjoy it. ALL card games with a face down deck have RNG. Good players work with this, they don't use it as an excuse or to mindlessly complain.

money
I say give casual duels a try. I have been loving it. Havent gone back to standard since.
I get 3x the fun and 90% of the rewards of playing standard.
Your mileage may vary.

cancel that, if casual gives you access to everything and is not collection dependent, then why not......
Whatever made you leave in January is still in the game. Getting back in quickly is as easy as how much you want to spend.
