It’s no surprise that the Barrens Achievements are oriented more toward raw grind and less toward creativity compared to Darkmoon Faire. That said, I’m at 86% completion and have managed to find solid ways to finish most in a semi-reasonable manner... except one.
Enter: Vengeance... next turn
I’m at 110/200 currently and have been piloting a multiple spell discovery, educated elekk, and Zai the incredible deck... and despite all the extra generation, this achievement feels unbearably burdensome The “trigger” aspect of the achievement is where the horror truly sets in, given DHs limited stall and it’s groan inducing at best.
Has anyone completed this achievement yet? If so, can you share what strategies worked for you to expedite progress?
TLDR: DH achievement is ridiculous and time consuming, would like to discuss strategies to finish quicker as a community
I'm 100%. Most achievements are plain stupid, no fun whatsoever. For this one I just added four sigils and loads of draw (+ Zai but Elekk is slow). Concede when you're done.
Been there done that. Did it just like you, but without elekk.
Apart from that Achievement, i don't think that the Barrens Achievements are grindier than Darkmoon Faire. At least Barrens has only one (basically) unobtainable achievement (eating 5 Secrets at once, never ever even seen an opportunity)
the most dissapointing of the achievements hunt its the community, there are certain cards that are obviously related with achievements (the druid one with the taunts, the hunter one with the draw of beasts, etc.) because no one puts them in a serious deck, but when your opponents sees that cards try with all of his resources to kill it instead of helping you. In my country we call these people: cabezas de termo.

eHere's the thing. I don't know what achievements are out there, and I don't know what Meta Decks are out there. what I am doing when I play the game is building cool interesting decks that I have ideas for, and trying to win a few games with them. I wouldn't have any idea that you were trying for an achievement since I am too busy trying to pull off a post Nerf Hysteria OTK or whatever. (5 card, 12 mana combo, not easy, but worthwhile).
Thinking that other players just Know what you are trying to do is not fair. I understand that people like you really enjoy achievement hunting, and other people enjoy the ladder grind. but other people don't care about the meta or achievements and just want to build silly decks and have a laugh.
let's all try and be a little more understanding of people's whose playstyles don't really agree with our own.

Not bragging but I play at legend, where very few people don't know about the achievements (or play for fun, for that matter).
I haven't tried the sigils one because I only own 2 copies of one sigil, but it sounds terribly burdensome. I will probably build a control deck with random spell generators at some point to get it.
I am also worried about the Horde Plunderer one. Any other ideas than Cho?
Yesterday, I reached legend in standard and started farming the achievements. I played against a very fun "Banana" rogue list that clearly tried to burn my cards by giving me bananas, but I still managed to get 7 Patrons on the board...Or I would have if I didn't f up the order of Sword and Board and Shield Slam, but the opponent helped me out by Daggering up and hitting my 6th Patron.
Not sure what their name was, but thank you, stranger! Also, cool deck!

Well, in general, I am with you. Did a lot of achievement grinding during Darkmoon Faire and it was tedious to see people not understanding or not caring that you only want to complete that full board revolve achievement. Nevertheless you also have to acknowledge that some achievements are bound to cards that are generally bad, but very snowbally. Like Greybough during DF for example. I can understand people not wanting to let that guy live. It's a good example of "don't hate the player, hate the game". Why do the devs put out such stupid grindy achievements instead of interesting ones that force you to get creative? It's really their fault, not the community's. Also I can't see one good reason why we aren't allowed to complete achievements in casual mode or tavern brawls. A lot of them are hidden behind the pay wall of owning specific cards anyway. So just let us do them in a more friendly, less competitive environment.
Even not attacking is not a sure sign of an achievement hunter as it can just be an OTK deck that doesn't care for damage in previous turns.
Also, it is always kinda hard to assume that your opponent needs to understand your motivations, because there is so little player interaction in HS. I had the experience myself that I was going against another person that was also trying to get an achievement done and I was so focused on my own that I didn't even notice and conceded after I had accomplished mine. He sent a friend request afterwards, I apologized, he understood. Such things happen and they don't need to be in bad faith.
I actually had my nicest player interactions during achievement farming. Besides the aforementioned event there was a player that just conceded to me when he was clearly winning against my deck that was only farming the Lightsteed achievement and befriended me afterwards. Of course there are a lot of toxic players, but there are very nice ones as well.
"Mulligan Hard for Lorewalker Cho & potentially Cannonmaster Smythe.
When ready drop Cho and send secrets over to your opponent, desperate measures is best since its twinspell and effectively counts as 2 secrets (especially if opponents hand is close to full). Feel free to clog the opponents hand as it will only increase the incentive for them to play the secrets. then have your opponent plays them out the next turn.
Once the opponent played 5 secrets drop cannonmaster if there are any untriggered secrets followed by horde operative and profit.
In my case the cannonmaster was not needed because the opponent triggered all the secrets I sent over with cho but its in the deck for this purpose.
Also if you want to replace any secrets In this deck you might not have, the only thing I say to that is I specifically omitted secrets that trigger when a minion or spell is played (not to be put off by the opponent playing secrets, or by your own Smythe when you need to clear your own secrets), so no Oh my yogg/Repentence! but otherwise they are basically swappable to whatever you have in your collection."
I was lucky, did it in my first try with the only one person who helped me, a mage player who realizes what im doing
i understand what you are saying, i had nice interactions too but its very unbalanced. For one nice interaction i get ten toxic... If i didnt attack you the whole game with a hunter (WITH A HUNTER!) and suddenly i play that garbage Tarvis and a lot of tiny minions, if you think an OTK will came form that you are a very religious person, and on top of that in the next turn you use all your arsenal to just kill that poor bastard of Tarvis, you know very well what you are doing... not happen once, not happen twice, happens a lot

Yep, a grand total of five players helped me.
