    On a slightly more positive note, go and watch the initial launch trailer for Duels, it's up there with the best announcements they've ever made, it will make you laugh and cheer at how great it is, and then cry that it's all being burned to the ground and that they will probably remove the trailer out of spite too.

    II'm in the same boat, I've played since launch, and I had been hopeful for the 10th anniversary this year, though I hadn't played much this expansion for the first time since launch, I was waiting to see what they would do next. 

    Then this. I have uninstalled Hearthstone, and unless they backtrack I'm not sure I will be back. I've been a whale in the past, having spent probably a thousand dollars on this game total, and ten years of consistent playtime, but the current hearthstone management is terrible. I had kept some hope that maybe the change to Microsoft ownership would cause some improvement, but apparently not. 

    There were entire classes I never played in standard/wild that I played the heck out of in Duels, every time a new Demon hunter card was announced I was excited to play it in Duels, but I've probably played like 3 games of Demon hunter total in constructed. 

    I'm sure Duels earned Blizzard plenty of money they just couldn't see, because it wasn't monetized separately from constructed, but the best part of unlocking new cards each expansion was playing more new gimmick decks.

    If I had to make one critique of Duels it was the sets. it started out with a small subset, and each expansion they would add 2 new sets (the newest and one older one). this meant that the potential for breaking combos got worse, and decks stagnated. if I were them I would have done an Arena-like rotation of sets for Duels, so each season you can log in and try something new. what i would NOT do is kill the only mode that felt fresh and new each time

    Of course like everyone else I hated the change to the bucket system, tagging each of 140 cards in an expansion with a tag is probably something that should already have been being done for future cataloging, and probably took one intern like a day to do, so not doing it probably saved almost no money, and now shutting down the mode will save that same amount of money again, so good job Blizz, enjoy all the money you won't earn from this change.

    like what? they changed the bucket system awhile back to be 100% more boring because they didn't want to keep having to manually add cards to buckets, so at this point isn't the maintenance just "change static variable PLAYABLE_SETS to include the new expansion each rotation"?

    like some people talk about balancing, but I find that balance has never been duels strong point anyways, and they've never catered to it.

     I mean, that shouldn't be true, in order to earn enough gold to go infinite you have to knock other players out. the net profit for blizzard should always be positive.

    I guess I am done playing Hearthstone. The one, two, three of killing Solo Adventures, Mercenaries, and now Duels has killed all interest I have in the game. I don't think the big wigs at Blizzard understand that nice things like Mercenaries, Duels, and Solo Content, while they don't directly make much money, they bring people to the game, who then create opponents for the whales, and even buy things for the other modes since they are there. 

    I have played hearthstone almost constantly since launch, this expansion was already the first one where I'd just been zoning out, not really playing at all, instead playing some Warpforged. but I kinda assumed I'd be coming back, especially with the 10th anniversary upcoming, but with this distasteful attitude I guess this might just be the end for me, I'm sorry Brode, I tried to stay, but your family hurts me too much.

    they already announced that October's ladder will be Wonders again, but the twist is that you can have 30-40 cards in your deck, with your starting health being equal to the number of cards you use

    I love venessa, especially post buff that was in 23.0. but I never use makeshift weaponry, I almost feel like maybe she should give back the stolen attack when she dies unless you spend it on makeshift weaponry? and/or as stated above it should do a multiple or a base level of damage (e.g. "deal 10 damage + stolen attack to all enemies, resets stolen attack" or something like that.). at least her other two abilities are really fun.

    I too struggled a lot. probably 8 tries or so before he went down. my winning strategy ended up just being orcs, who you get most of for free and can be really powerful. if you get the right buffs going up the tree you can have Samuro start at like 35+ attack. give him windnfury, hit Rend with Xyrella so he survives, and then just start pounding. sure he dies at the end of round 2 due to blackhand, but you can either try and rush blackhand down before that goes off, or just use the ability that makes him immune so he takes 0 damage. 

    I kind of don't like that Orcs are so good in PvE. I'd been having a lot of fun with Beasts and Murlocs. but when I tried out my super not optimized Orc party I was able to take down quite a few late heroic bosses easily. 

    I am not technically a free player. I did buy the welcome bundle for $5 or whatever it was.

    I assume you mean Hullbreaker, not hellbreaker. and the way all these interactions work is that the first card is the one the effect applies to. so Hullbreaker draws a soul shard, you take damage equal to its cost, then the soul shard draws you another card (not Hullbreaker). this interaction is obvious with the Warlock hero power that draws a card and sets its cost to 0.

     would they though? barrens 1 already only gives 3 bags of couns, averaging like 40 coins. if you are trading them at 1/10th efficiency you are getting 4 coins for like 3 minutes of grind, that isn't a good conversion factor. better to just play the mission for the merc you want, you'd get better returns.

     can you say with what spells and upgrades?

     I believe it was Brukan's +2 spell damage, double lightning bolt charm

    Anacondra: +2 Nature Damage, +3/+10 to Trolls, Taurens, and Night Elves

    Guff: +5 Spell Damage (Elite Reward). 

    obviously this exact setup can't be achieved every time, but You usually also don't need to kill him turn 2 before he even acts. I only felt the need to kill him so soon because I accidentally killed Moira on turn 1 by attacking her with anacondra. if you left her alive you could probably kill him much more leisurely

    I killed Thaurusan Turn 2 and his Wife Turn 1 with a nature build with bru'kan, Guff, and Lady Anacondra. completely free to play. if you do this combo right you go into the final fight with +8ish nature damage and can easily burst him down, I saw this thread existed before I played him, expected a challenge and was disappointed. it helped that everyone was ranged, so I didn't actually kill the Abomination until after both the Dwarves were dead.

    posted a message on problems with no managerie in last patch

    I strongly disagree there was no buffs to menagerie. I had an insane build one game with the new dragon who keeps all stat buffs and doubles them when golden and a golden version of the demon who gives his health to another minion when he dies. that sucker had several hundred health by the the endgame. 

     sure, the combos are subtle, but they are there.

    Because Core set is a limited time thing just for this year, whereas the Warglaives from the Ashes of outland set is a collectable card that once you get it it will stay in your collection forever. or at least that's the impression I am getting from Blizzard, they actually haven't announced their final decision for what happens to core set cards at the end of the year, but snce you can still collect the normal versions of the cards separately I have to assume that they will all disappear at the end of the year when the new Core set rolls in.

    right, I forgot they added the spell school treasures, because most of them were bad (except the holy one). I was hoping they were going to release the mercenaries as alter heroes, because at Blizzconline they hinted at that.
