    I love venessa, especially post buff that was in 23.0. but I never use makeshift weaponry, I almost feel like maybe she should give back the stolen attack when she dies unless you spend it on makeshift weaponry? and/or as stated above it should do a multiple or a base level of damage (e.g. "deal 10 damage + stolen attack to all enemies, resets stolen attack" or something like that.). at least her other two abilities are really fun.

    I too struggled a lot. probably 8 tries or so before he went down. my winning strategy ended up just being orcs, who you get most of for free and can be really powerful. if you get the right buffs going up the tree you can have Samuro start at like 35+ attack. give him windnfury, hit Rend with Xyrella so he survives, and then just start pounding. sure he dies at the end of round 2 due to blackhand, but you can either try and rush blackhand down before that goes off, or just use the ability that makes him immune so he takes 0 damage. 

    I kind of don't like that Orcs are so good in PvE. I'd been having a lot of fun with Beasts and Murlocs. but when I tried out my super not optimized Orc party I was able to take down quite a few late heroic bosses easily. 

    I am not technically a free player. I did buy the welcome bundle for $5 or whatever it was.

    I assume you mean Hullbreaker, not hellbreaker. and the way all these interactions work is that the first card is the one the effect applies to. so Hullbreaker draws a soul shard, you take damage equal to its cost, then the soul shard draws you another card (not Hullbreaker). this interaction is obvious with the Warlock hero power that draws a card and sets its cost to 0.

     would they though? barrens 1 already only gives 3 bags of couns, averaging like 40 coins. if you are trading them at 1/10th efficiency you are getting 4 coins for like 3 minutes of grind, that isn't a good conversion factor. better to just play the mission for the merc you want, you'd get better returns.

    Guff: +5 Spell Damage (Elite Reward). 

    obviously this exact setup can't be achieved every time, but You usually also don't need to kill him turn 2 before he even acts. I only felt the need to kill him so soon because I accidentally killed Moira on turn 1 by attacking her with anacondra. if you left her alive you could probably kill him much more leisurely

    I strongly disagree there was no buffs to menagerie. I had an insane build one game with the new dragon who keeps all stat buffs and doubles them when golden and a golden version of the demon who gives his health to another minion when he dies. that sucker had several hundred health by the the endgame. 

     sure, the combos are subtle, but they are there.

    Because Core set is a limited time thing just for this year, whereas the Warglaives from the Ashes of outland set is a collectable card that once you get it it will stay in your collection forever. or at least that's the impression I am getting from Blizzard, they actually haven't announced their final decision for what happens to core set cards at the end of the year, but snce you can still collect the normal versions of the cards separately I have to assume that they will all disappear at the end of the year when the new Core set rolls in.

    right, I forgot they added the spell school treasures, because most of them were bad (except the holy one). I was hoping they were going to release the mercenaries as alter heroes, because at Blizzconline they hinted at that.

    I mean, in most card games (hearthstone included) Luck does play a large part. but as the saying goes, "play the hand you're dealt". Hearthstone is about saving answers, playing only when needed, and not wasting a single resource. 

    I played an Arena Game against a preist this morning that really shocked me. one we were both playing our best, trying desperately to outvalue the other by a single mana. he kept playing around my Vanessa, which kept me from taking the board until he eventually ran out of answers one card before me. it was one of the closest games of Hearthstone I've played in awhile. 

    Sure, there are times you just don't get the draws, but when I compare Hearthstone to something like Magic the Gathering that barely ever happens. you can usually do SOMETHING in hearthstone, which I think makes it a good game.

    I've had a decent amount of success with a Menegerie Warrior using deathwing. if you have the new N'zoth you play good rush/taunt minions from every tribe in the deck, maybe throw in the curator and the ringmaster for massive card draw when you need it. Deathwing has served me well in that deck, though I probably go too far with the gimmick (as I always do). I'm sure a more toned down version could probably take you to diamond at least.

    Honestly, with only 32 slots for players, you could just make people submit their decks beforehand, a quick glance at the decks should tell you whether they are copying a meta deck or actually building one. I'm sure if that's too much to ask of you you could also get a few members of the community to help out. 

    My Highest win rate decks are not meta, at least I am fairly sure, can't say I've ever actually looked at a deck list, so I guess thoughtsteal priest might be meta in standard right now. :D
