I play Hearthstone with a small circle of friends for quite some time now. Since GvG we played almost everyday. To keep up with the collection and the meta and not to waste to much money we always dust all or wild cards since we have no interest playing that game mode.
With the core set coming does that mean we are fucked now? I imagine a lot of players have done the same thing. Is there some sort of discount dust cost for the wild cards?
I guess it depends what cards are coming back from wild. You may very well not have any trouble whatsoever.
I started playing way later than you and basically did the same thing with the rotated cards... this year's rotation would mark the first that I was not planning on just dusting everything in order to craft new cards, because I've managed to be more efficient with my crafting.
We'll have to wait and see what cards they bring back and if you think they're worth having again.
EDIT: I should learn to read better. As mentioned above, the core set will be free, so nothing to worry about at all.

Even before the new core set was announced, dusting your collection was (and still is) a horendously bad idea and not something anyone should ever consider. You are literally throwing your money away doing that. So yes, you are screwed. But no, it's not because of this update. It's because you did a silly thing. There's been countless threads on here over the years of people warning others not to dust their collection - but some people seem to keep doing this.

Well i get you, but that is ofcourse, my own choice. I wanted to play standard with a variation of decks and not waste 100 euros plus each expension, so you have to look for alternatives even though it seems like a bad idea. This seemed like a good short term solution, but short term in a game is imo okay.

It's perfectly understandable that you just want the fun here and now. After all it's a game, not your retirement savings. Luckily you'll be the opposite of screwed now, since you don't even need to collect classic cards, but will be able to just focus on the new sets and enjoy having the core set available at all time :)

Yes, it's definitely your choice - and certainly not something anyone can tell you to do either way - the warnings were simply that: warnings that it was a bad idea and it would be regretted down the line. And I guess, here we are now.
All that said, however, while I said "yes you are screwed", I think I was actually wrong in that regard (for which I apologise). I don't think you're screwed (in hindsight), because the change to the system includes the fact that they are letting players get the core set for free (albeit with a little effort in levelling up your character), so I think this is at least going to help newer players (or those with ex-collections) continue to play consistently.
Also, the original basic set could not be dusted before, so you will still have that available to you as well.

Hi guys,
I play Hearthstone with a small circle of friends for quite some time now. Since GvG we played almost everyday. To keep up with the collection and the meta and not to waste to much money we always dust all or wild cards since we have no interest playing that game mode.

But the core set is free once you hit level 10 with a class, so how are you fucked?

Sorry i did not ment the core set. I heard some "wild" cards are coming back into standard, i ment those.
yes, you did mean core set
those wild cards that might be coming back, are coming back as part of the core set that will be totally free for everyone

Does the timing of disenchantment of classic cards matter? Or u can disenchant them anytime it seems fit..
The cord set supports standard players.. so chill... and reread the updated. Unless you want to play classic mode.
