Expendable Performersclearly states summon 7. How come they still rez 7 more if only 5 are summoned? I dont understand how that can work. In my game, I put myself to 35 hlth effective, with no minions on board, so DH has to play 2 minions then the spell, which only allows for 5 tokens to be summoned. Do u mean it still works if u only summon 1?
I've tested token DH and found that the text is in fact a little bit difficult to interpret. Basically, however many are summoned need to die, and then you get more.
The text should essentially read: "Summon up to seven 1/1 Illidari with rush, if all that were summoned die, summon up to seven more."
When the card was first revealed, Blizzard stated that you only had to have all of the initial amount summoned in order for the next group to be summoned. In this case, the initial 5 have to die in order for the next 7 (or maximum amount) to be summoned. That is the intended function of the card. Also, the card text itself says "If they all die", not "if all seven die", meaning that only the summoned ones need to die. So yes, it still works if you only summon 1.
Masgtheridon doesnt work that way right? so why does this work then?
We could probably chalk this one up as inconsistency among cards, but it might also have to do with Magtheridon actually being a dormant minion, and there is a counter when each warder dies. So it was obviously coded a bit different.
basically the card is working as intended, if all tokens summoned die you summon up to seven more, it doesn’t matter how much you summoned before as long as all of them die

With this text, it sounds like you may get to choose how many to summon. I think I may have a slightly better text revision:
'Fill your board with 1/1 Illidari with Rush. If they all die this turn, fill your board once more.'
I feel like this may best reflect exactly what happens in the game. This game sometimes has weird phrasing and doesn't always maintain consistency with card texts. It reminds me a little bit of Yugioh before they decided to revamp all their cards and use specific and consistent card text.
