I've been saving gold since the announcement of GvG and have about 1500 gold, for 15 packs.
I want to be in during the carnage while people try out crazy new decks before things settle down.
I figure you need about 60 decks to get a good chunk of the set.
There are about 200ish cards to collect (120 with two of each non legendary). 60 decks gives 300 cards. There should be 2-4 legendaries in there, and 8-12 epics. Should get almost all of the commons and a good chunk of the rares. Maybe an epic or Legendary left over in dust.
If you have a lot of gold, you actually get more value of your gold by doing arena. Arena cost 150 gold, and you always get a free pack. So as long as you earn more than 50 gold from arena, you will get more value from your gold :) (since packs cost 100 gold)

Ya, the problem with Arena is TIME. If I get 3 wins, I'm even on gold (get 50 gold + pack), but I'm down 60-90 minutes of time, with only increments of 25ish gold per win after that, I've figured time is best spent just grabbing the dailies and spending directly on packs.
None! I think Hearthstone's refusal to provide full access to the game at a set price, and instead using the CCG booster pack model to obscure its actual price, is unethical, and I'll never actually support that with money. It's fun though, so I'll keep playing Arena, and casual when I need to do some dailies and grind gold!
the problem with Arena is that HS follow sthe simple equation of time=Money, the time i'm spending in Arena gaining 50 gold of value is much more than the time i actually get 100 gold in constructed, so seeing it on a purely economically viable eprspective Arena is worthless unless you spend real money in the entrance.

Unethical? It's a video game... I reserve the use of "unethical" for things like deforestation, slavery and payday loans.
Hearthstone has probably SAVED me money because I've enjoyed it so much I haven't bothered buying any other games for the past 8 months ;)

So, $50 for 40 packs for me.
Probably more than I'll tell my wife.
Probably only like, $50. Maybe $100 if I'm feeling giddy.
I think ill start with one batch of 40 and see what I get. And if I feel I need more, ill buy another 40 :)
I have also been saving up a lot of dust, so if I need a few cards for a deck I want to play, I can just craft them :P
Unfortunately i am poor student. Will be grind packs in arena as always. =(
I bring life and pffffffffffffff!
^Exactly this!
0 i have 16k gold ready and wil spend everything in gvg packs,, screw arena.
A couple of big 40-pack buys must be enough. Then disenchant the extra crap and go crafting ))
Ba hahaha. Also not telling my wife.

I don't like arena, but I have saved over 12K in gold. So my starter will be 120 packs.
Yeah. Same lol.

I spent $100 or something when it came out but not going to spend any cent anymore. While you playing it , you can get all cards anyway.
The price is very clear and quite ethical.
Brain: Hopefully not too much!
Heart: All da cards!
Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
