It's even worse when you realize that there's gonna be a new mode with the next expansion using old cards.
All those who dusted their cards will probably be pretty mad they can't even try it. I mean they could, of course, but that's like playing wild with standard cards only - completely pointless.
For me, it got to years without enjoying a single wild meta to disenchant my wild cards. Nothing against wild itself, personally I just don't like the extreme power level that will come with any eternal format. Hell, even the big metas after the third set of each year tend to be my least favorite. So in the dust bin the went and I certainly enjoyed the 80k dust I got from doing so!
I've disenchanted every wild card and have and never regretted it. As a F2P player, the large influx of dust allows me a lot more freedom to stay competitive in standard.
Not only that, I'm of the opinion that if you choose to play wild, you choose to expose yourself to the clusterf**k of overpowered bs that would undoubtedly be a source of endless frustration and would have 0 right to complain about balance because that's literally what you signed up for when you chose to play it. (0 sympathy for people that whine wild is unbalanced).

Just my 2 cents
I understand your opinion, but I disagree with your points.
First of all, wild is more F2P friendly than standard. The decklists dont change drastically from a new expansion and there are no rotating cards.
Secondly, if every class has access to overpowered decks, it doesnt mean endless frustration or unbalanced metagame. Actually I think that wild is kinda balanced now since the Twin slice buff, IMO its more balanced than standard right now. Obviously people will whine about x and y deck, but we have seen far worse metas. Balance-wise I also have to say that maybe the original plan with wild was to not balance it at all, but they did some nerfs/buffs, and I guess it was because of the chinese market, where wild is a popular game mode. So if it makes money to blizzard and many people are playing it, then I think its fine to complain about overrepresented decks.
Thirdly its all about how do you think about your cards. You are just "renting" the cards, while we wild players are actually collecting them. I know that some players are only interested in tier 1 standard meta decks, but some of us like to actually collect the cards without saying them goodbye when a new standard year comes.
It makes less sense than ever right now as Wild is popular in China and Blzzard sees it as the potential growth market....that means going forward you will probably see additional modes/brawls/who knows what involving rotated cards.
There is also the cool aspect of having wild cards like, say when a new set launches and there is a card with cool effect but no synergy, or a lack of tribe support in standard, you can just try it out in wild to see how the card would function if it actually had the support it needs. Its just kinda fun and you get more mileage from a new set immediately.

Fuck wild. Disenchant everything. Never look back. F2P forever.
I only keep good wild cards and disenchanting the shitty ones.
