And lastly, for those whale looking for a full collection, the total number of packs with the new change is as following. This time around I went a little more realistic and assumed someone getting this would use both bundles and as such have 3 free legendaries.
Average Packs required: 273.1
Average Dust per pack: 39.3
For comparison with the old totals per rarity and no- dupes it required
I thought you were going to bring up the fact that now if you disenchant an epic you don't like or don't have support for, you won't be able to open it again for a long time if you later get the right pieces for it to work.
Say you opened 2 To My Side! and disenchanted them. Then later you got Rhok'delar and Deathstalker Rexxar... you would have to open every other epic to get those original cards back.
Just means we shouldn't disenchant anything unless we absolutely have to.
I’m glad someone brought this topic up, because I was just ranting to my friends about it just the other day. Basically this new system fucks over whales and helps normal players. Keep in mind that 99.9% of players (arbitrary number) don’t care about completion or golden cards, and while blizzard stated that “disenchanting a card without ever worrying about opening again” is an upside, is it really tho? Why the hell would they make it so that it marks a card as “owned” once you open a copy of it? Let’s say that you dusted a card from a set before but you eventually open every other card in the set and you want the missing card you dusted. Yeah good luck with that buddy, you might as well recraft for full dust value. I swear they made this change solely to stop nerfed dust exploits... now the game just got less expensive for casuals and more expensive for people who actually care about golden cards.
just opened a classic pack after the patch, no new priest cards, just old classic duplicates
so to respond to OP : no, no duplicates is not retro-active
edit: maybe i'm wrong ? i'm not sure but maybe the cards in your collection don't count as collected but only new cards opened in packs count as collected, then you don't get duplicates ?
Disenchanted a common from classic (had them all). Opened packs. It cannot be opened. If you disenchant ANYTHING, you cannot open it. Yay. /sarcasm
EDIT: Disenchanted cards don't appear in collection when you type "missing" either, so you can't really know what you are missing unless you keep physical record of what you disenchant. What is this joke?
