Sad to see more of the same
No offense, man, in fact, congrats on your legend rank, but I'd love to see some different priest archetypes, not stupid broken combos...
Yes, my post is a bit off-topic, but it has deviated anyway . Back on topic - the nerf to Barnes came way late and will do nothing to BP, as OP stated.
I do understand your point of view and where you're coming from. I wasn't always playing inner fire priest but it's just what I am enjoying at the moment. I was having a lot of success with a res priest during GvG in tournaments when nobody was playing resurrect. No shame in playing what you enjoy at the time.
I think first we should see the effect of the nerfs before making any more judgements, but if big priest is still a problem afterward, then they should make big priest more counter-able by nerfing some of the resurrection cards to "summon the lowest cost friendly minion that died this game" that way if you really hate rez priest you can counter it with Gravelsnout Knight if you really hate it, or just play a class with transformation spells. plus it makes Barnes more of a liability
I am very excited and optimistic that a simple 1 mana nerf to Barnes will have a significant effect on both the power and prevalence of big priest. Expect to see more Reno and dragon priests as well as control decks. Barnes was also OP in big Rogue and spell hunter as well as N'zoth decks. Most of us will cash out on 1600 dust.
A 1 mana increase wont be a big deal in my opinion
It gives aggro decks an extra turn to go face or draw an answer. Also a 5 mana Barnes competes with other 5 mana minions and board clears so it messes your curve at this point. I expect many big priests to take their 1600 dust refund and cut Barnes. Others will still run Barnes, but either way, big priest will drop from tier 1 to tier 2 and no longer be 30% of the meta, maybe 15%.

And the other 85% is now secret mage....

The problem has and always will be cheating out big minions to res them early.

In Wild with odd/even decks around and ultra refined lists? Yes, it is a big deal, maybe turn the entire deck in unplayable category.
I hope you're right only for the sake of encouraging different decks
