i am a player from KOFT, i'm currently at rank 10... I just can't rank a lot because when i reach rank 8 i keep falling, but it's ok i don't care so much. At least, i'm at rank 10. In this months ( a lot) i observed what hearthstone is and what hearthstone used to be.
Casual and ladder are the same thing, 9/10 decks are netdecked
Ladder? Is ok that player netdeck (BAD thing but is ok, it how works competition)
Casual? Why netdecking? I just don't understand why... I never copied a deck, i just try a couple of time in ladder using my personal decks. Why? Why losing stars with a deck that I don't know if it works? Because it's OK. It's how it works, fight against the better to test my solution. Explore combo, understanting tech fixing the deck.
People offend you in many ways, from Emoting every 2 seconds to adding you at the end of the game saying "YOU SHEIT FKKKK"
People just don't understand that "casual" should be healtier, without use odd pally to complete quest because let me say: is a shitty deck. My warlock beat it without problem, but is very stupid find them in casual when i'm using Dorian Warlock... It just make me sad that people doesn't know how to fucking play a game.
Hearthstone present a lot of cards. That means that we could make any decks, but i saw a thing:
Pro player create deck --> Every netdecker use it --> some of them reach legend with it --> Pro player change deck --> Every netdecker change deck. And what happen to the other GOOD deck? It disappear. Why? Why the fuck miracle rogue was disappeared? It doesn't get a buff, so why people just suck at being inventive?
To me, with the advent of netdecking, hearthstone is a worse place and a worse game... Is not the game itself, the players are just... bad, angry, childish.
Blizzard should fix casual, it's easy to collect data and fix matchmaking at least there.
While I agree there is an issue with the separation of casual and ladder (and the structure of the ladder by the way), I don't see why netdecking is a problem. Maybe you mix it with copy/pasting successful decks, and even then how is it a problem? Can you develop on that?
The ideal system would players want to play powerful decks on ladder (strong incentive to win), and anything in casual (no incentive to win). Personnally, I think it comes from the fact that you get gold and can complete quests in casual, of course players want to win. You remove that, you have a much healthier casual.
Works two ways in that if u play against netdecking in casual it's a good test of a deck you might have put together and see how viable it is, but imo that shouldn't really be what casual is and I love the variety and memes u sometimes get in there
Generally speaking everyone knows the people playing netdecks in casual are assholes.. and people playing them just need to acceot that is what they are... particularly aggressive things like odd rogue and odd pally in casual
But whatever if thats what some people want to do... When I have made some really slow memey decks and Baku paladin pops up I might just concede turn 1 and queue again, wastes less of my time

Like me, i concede against tempo mage and odd decks because my meme deck need a slow gameplay.

I don't say: "Netdecking should be banned". I say: Netdecking is ok in LADDER, is ok trying to stay competitive with the perfect deck... But pls, stop being a total asshole in casual. I remember when i was a good player at Yugioh (1 year ago). Everyone playing the same netdecked deck, everyone with trickstar/draco/spyral. I was playing Dinosaurs (not the wyrm list) and guess what? I won a lot of game against these "top tier decks". Because i know what they play, i know their tech, i know what to put in my deck to make it work. This is funny to me, but the not funny part is that I NEED TO ADJUST MY DECK REGARDING THE META, without enjoing my deck at it's best form. Like Golakka Crawler, Hungry Crab, Geist.
I agree with you, removing from casual quest/golds could be interesting. At least, we could see far less aggro there and more midrange/memes decks that doesn't need fast wins.
I'm not angry, i'm not baby-crying. I'm just surprised that hearthstone's community is probably the worse... There are a lot of good player, and TOO MANY brainless
Casual: Well, I play casual only to complete annoying quests. 30/30 murlocs, dragons, 1-drops, 5+-drops, etc. Besides that I consider casual as a waste of time.
Behaviour: Yes, I mute everyone at the very beginning of a game and then emote "Greetings". If I get a friend request I usually accept and wait for the first sentence to decide if I delete again or start a conversation when the first sentence was friendly.
Its true, its a shame there is no mode just for meme decks. It seems tricky to come up a system that would work though, which I guess is why it hasn't been done. I would have thought it would get better with the introduction of rank ceilings, but maybe it hasn't. Maybe you have a good idea?
Casual is used by people to complete quests and test decks as well as play meme decks. I don't see why you need to call people assholes because they don't want the same thing as you. Seems like you are being a little hypocritical when you're accusing other people of having bad attitudes.
I usually just concede in casual when I see the first 2 cards from cancer decks. I concede as soon as I see a Mana Wyrm or a secret being played, if I see Paladin or Rogue and hear that god damn "none will survive" I concede, in general I just don't find it fun playing against this braindead trash and I value my sanity and time more than wins in a card game.
Today I built Kibler's elemental Mage deck and after a few concedes I matched up with a dude playing elemental Shaman (running Ozruk and shit like that), I lost but it was extremely fun anyway. It would be perfect if there was no gold gain in casual, as most games would be truly amazing and fun, but I simply doubt it will happen.
As far as your actual in-match experience goes, improving it goes something like this:
1) Go to Battle.net client, show yourself as 'appear offline'. People can't add you at that point. 2) When you start your match, the first thing you do after you mulligan is go up and tap their portrait to Squelch them. Emotes go bye-bye.
The rest of it is beyond your control.

I generally dont enjoy and or do play tier 1 decks in casual (because lets be real, that is what you really mean rather than netdeck) but what bothers me is the fact that people on here feel the need to dictate how other people should play the game. There are many people who dont care for the deckbuilding aspect, or ranked, yet still want to enjoy playing this game theirway. And aslong as they arent a roping or in other form miserable player I really dont care what deck they play.
Also disclaimer: LOL at the people struggling against Burn Mage, it is nowhere near as good as Odd Paladin, Odd Rogue, even Warlock and Taunt Druid.

It's ok the first emote, ok the second. But pls, when i fucking dropp my Giant and you basically SAP it, don't be so stupid "Well Played" and "Mistake were made" in sequence. You just appear childish and stupid.
I think people just try to feel... better, asshole, because someone else was rude with them. Who know
I think one of the reasons why netdecking is so common in Hearthstone compared to other card games I've played is that any deck that starts to become successful very quickly gets super optimized simply because of the hundreds of thousands of games that ar being played with that. This in turn makes it harder for any self-built deck to compete since something you build yourself is probably not as optimized. So this encourages people who want to climb ladder to use a deck that is optimized to work in the current environment.
I also think that the game mechanics itself, especially the relatively small deck size means that the difference between optimized and suboptimal decks are more notizeable.

I agree 80% with you,
but let me say that Yugioh is the god of netdecking
Its casual. Just concede if you don't like the matchup.
There are a lot of threads with this same complaint. Just friend those people and play them only when you want to play. No need to get matched up against random people. Just find some meme friends and play decks that way. That is a mode of HS that is generally overlooked by those whining about casual.
