Really, the most valuable (to players) type of rewards for anything in the game are going to be packs (or to a lesser extent: gold to buy packs). So rewarding packs for Win achievements seems like a smart and viable option.
Though I don't see Blizzard really doing it - the rewards in Hearthstone can often be a bit stingy. A lot of desire was there for the single player experiences to reward gold or packs to encourage players to play them more, but this appears to have fallen mostly on deaf Blizzard ears. :-(
I like the idea of 5-10 packs for every additional 500th win since it's repeatable and not a necessary thing to have so people can go as far as they want.
But the real reason for me is that I already a lot of wins with all my classes. (Hunter at 3000, Mage & Rogue at 2000 wins every other more than 1000 x). Yet still it is pretty difficult for me to keep up with collecting cards from new expansions ever since Ungoro.
I would also like to see gold rewards for set completion like the 100 gold they have for the classic set. Not that I have completed any sets but knowing there is a little reward would still be nice.
Right now all I do is get to rank 5, collect dust, play arena and complete the classic set.

So you already have in the thousands for each class and you want FREAKING packs ? packs shouldn't be awarded for every 500th win unless you put in some cosmetics in the bargain

One of our goals is to do a better job of creating medium to long-term goals. We've talked about doing special rewards for something beyond 500 wins, though I'm curious what players would want to achieve. If you have any specific milestones you think we should celebrate and reward in-game we'd love to hear about them. We could go the route of static achievement like 1000 wins, try to create a continuously rewarding system that doesn't have a cap like leveling in Overwatch, or do some time-based weekly or monthly progression system. We've been talking about all of these individually and will likely release at least one of them.
I'm still surprised there isn't a "gold hero" equivalent in arena play haha. Not that I really play arena. Just seems to cheat a lot of people who play almost exclusively arena.
I do agree there should be some more incentive to play beyond 500 wins. The most wins I have is 590 with my rogue, but when I don't have quests, playing her does feel almost wasted lol (except for the, you know, fun aspect haha). It would be cool if after 1000 wins you could like...upgrade your class legendary to a gold haha, or something like that. I'd love to have a gold VanCleef.
They are making arena wins count in year of the dragon
It's quite liberating once you get the 9th one. No more pressure.
A funky card back would be nice to mark all 9 golden I think.
Golden Hero Collections thus far; -
Europe: Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior (9/9)
Americas: Druid, Mage, Paladin Shaman (4/9)
Everywhere else: Workin on it.. (0/9)

No such thing as pressure if you enjoy playing with all classes.
It's liberating at first but then it gets boring pretty quickly.

It should be at least 100 packs or somthing
At least like the rewards from heroic tavern brawl.

I think 500 wins - bronze character, 1000 wins - silver , 1500 wins - gold, 2000+ wins - platinum character would be so sick
Achievments is one the biggest flaws of this game...
I actually believe most people want to show off, if they have achieved 500, 1000, 1500 ... wins. So I would want a new character.
Here one though, which would be cool:
After 500, they should split up and have three different achievements:
1. 500 + 500standard wins: Gives you a platinium character.
2. 500 + 500wild wins: Gives you a "wild/rugged" version of the character.
3: 500 + 500arena wins: Gives you the character with a gladiator like look :-)
So now you can choose with which character you want to show off.

Gold is already 500 so you have to come up with a better idea.
They're not going to change the gold heroes for bronze..
needs to be something like Gold 500, 1000 Platinum, 1500 Diamond and 2000 Adamantium ? Or something like that
