When I was recently looking for a new deck to play I realised two things: first the dust cost of the most meta decks raised significantly due the latest expansion and it is hard to tell if it a decklist I see on the internet is acutal fun. So in a lot of "free to play" games , mostly in mobas, there is a free hero rotation every week; to let new player test out heroes without spending ingame warrancy or real life money on it. So how about a free legendary (and epic) rotation for hearthstone every week? This would be easier for new players to play with decent decks and it opens up to experiment with certain cards. If I consider crafting a legendary I always look if the card is playable and worth it to craft. This ends up mostly (and Im pretty sure Im not the only one) in netdecking. But when a card is free to use for a week I would definetly try to play around with it try to make a deck that works with it.
Thoughts on this idea? Am I missing a mayor point or is this actually something Blizzard should consider to implement?
That's an awesome idea, although I'd see it more like a bi-weekly or a monthly thing. Not everyone plays an hour a day, and a week can go by without playing much. A such rapid rotation would make some people feel like they don't play often enough to be a part of the game. Also, it needs to sometimes be good cards, as Blizzard tends to give so-so ones, if it's always like that, we wouldn't be tempted to try the freebies.
If you want to offer some kind of 'free rotation' there's a more controlled system you could use: the recipes. Have 2 or so recipies be free to use for a period of time. That is, if you create a deck and choose that recipe, the entire deck is usable no matter your current collection. You can't modify the deck at all so the cards can't be used in other decks. But it'll let you play with cards you normally can't in a deck crafted by blizzard to put the card to use.
Maybe some testing/training ground would be nice: where u can play all cards u like, but u don´t get nothing no gold, no questrerwards, etc....so basically a place, where you just can test a deck before crafting it and taking it to the ladder.
And actually there aren't that many must cruft expensive cards in this expansion. Previous expansions are more important. KoFT is kinda poor on card quality compared to Un Goro for example .
Let's look at individual powerful decks :
Mid Range murloc paly : uses the new defender and bone mare - both cheap .
Pirate warrior - does fine without any new cards .
Aggro druid : uses crypt lord and the new 2 drop - cheap
Jade druid : uses malfurion , UI. That's a little expensive but still manageable if you really want to play the deck .
So as you can see if you already had a good meta deck is not that hard to update your list with new cards .
The only problem is if you want to play meme decks like highlander priest or ez big or something like that but if you just want to win games it's not that bad .

I don't think this would work with the type of game Hearthstone is.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
If you introduce a free legendary rotation it will disrupt the meta every time it changes which isn't good for the game.
LEEEEEEEEEROY JENKINS!

We have random brawls for this kind of stuff .
