You can kill your Hadronox with this card, if it gets enough upgrades.

Awesome idea, and much better than Naturalize - but isn't Hadronox 7 health?

Taunt Druid with C'thun and Hadronox is pretty sick...you can summon your emperors twice and maybe three times with Moat Lurker:

Moat Lurker is ideal of course, but I've also had good luck triggering Hardonox's deathrattle with Naturalize. Sure you're giving your opponent two cards, but you can also fill your entire board with powerful minions in a single turn. This has the potential to set up a one turn kill, especially late in the game.

Imagine going from and empty board to one filled with The Lick King, The Curator, two Dark Arrakkoa's, two Emperors and a Primordial Drake...its pretty satisfying.

posted a message on What's really so wrong with Netdecking?

It is REALLY fun to tweak a deck with your own personal choices, especially when it ends up paying off. Boosting your win rate while expressing your own preferred style of play can feel VERY gratifying.

At the same, it always amuses me that some Hearthstone players seem to consider deckbuilding a creative challenge on par with writing an epic novel, painting an exquisite masterpiece or composing some grand symphony.

I mean, let's be honest here guys - there are only so many cards and so many archetypes. And much of what makes a competitive deck is pre-determined by the synergies and interactions defined by Blizzard when they print the cards.

Swapping out Wickerflame Burnbristle for The Curator in your Midrange Murloc Paladin deck does not really make you Picasso.

Every now and then someone will discover a completely novel interaction or deck list that kind of defines a brand new play style - but this is extremely rare.

And for every one of those who actually achieves success with something different, there are likely thousands of other players among Hearthstone's 70 million who were experimenting with exactly the same recipe - but did not have the exposure or the favorable matchups to receive the same kind of recognition.

Sure it's great if you are able to reach legend with an off-meta deck that is not listed in some form or another on Hearthpwn. But is your homebrew really all that different from the netdecks at which you scoff?

How many slots must be different in order to designate one deck a "netdecK' and another a special snowflake? 1? 2? 4? More?

I play on Hearthphone exclusively (Apple) and prices are the same in the app or from the Blizzard shop...

Made it to R2 last season for the third time in a row, and no further...those last 8 or 9 stars are so elusive!

Starting again today with Tempo Rogue. Travelling later in the monh, so I only have the first couple of weeks.

Reached R10 today - think that is a record for me this early in the season.
Good thing too because I don't have much time later in the month.

posted a message on why Highlander priest is called Highlander priest

HIghlander is a great movie and recommended to fans of sci-fi/fantasy. Soundtrack by Queen is also great.

"There can be only one" refers to the plot line of the film, which revolves around a group of immortal warriors: Eventually, all the immortals must meet in "The Gathering" and do battle until there is only one left alive; the survivor will receive "The Prize".

As others have stated, the phrase "there can be only one" became associated with decks that contain no duplicates, thus "Highlander" decks.

Decks that contain no duplicates are also sometimes referred to as "singleton" decks.

posted a message on Why does everyone hate Priest?

Personally speaking, I don't "hate" any one particular class - I enjoy playing all of them and playing against them. The different styles and personalities are part of what makes Hearthstone fun.

If there is one thing I do not enjoy in Hearthstone though, it is playing against decks that are uninteractive - where basically you are watching your opponent play a game of solitaire.

These archetypes do very little but draw cards until they can get their combo. If they happen to find their key cards in time,  you lose - regardless of how well (or not) you otherwise played the game. Regardless of any other decisions you as a player may have prior to that point.

Exodia Mage is the most obvious and purest form of this example. Quest Rogue also falls into this category (although it is a lot easier to beat, especially post-nerf).

Razakus Priest is probably the most successful example yet of a deck that is low on the interaction scale. Unlike the others, it has hardly any unfavorable matchups. And I think this is where much of the current hate is coming from.

I'm not saying that Razakus Priest is easy (or unfun) to pilot, and to be fair it is more interactive than Exodia Mage. Its just that the duration of multiple turns in the late game while Anduin pew-pews your hero in the face make it even more of a bore to endure than infinite fireballs.

It doesn't bother me that the deck is powerful, and I don't mind seeing Priest as a class have a Top Tie deck.r

But I prefer to have some back and forth at every stage of the game, even if I may be behind. And if my opponent is going to win by pulling off a one or two turn kill combo (after dealing little to no damage on the previous turns), at least don't make me sit through endless card draws, animations and sound effects - when at that point the decisions I make have literally no impact on the outcome.

posted a message on What was your first golden legendary?

Mine was Archmage Antonidas, back when I was still pretty new at the game - and so I foolishly dusted him.

I can still remember thinking (at the time) "Whats so great about getting a fireball when you cast a spell?"

For a long time it would haunt me - I lost every game where Tony was played by my opponent...it was like a curse.

Since then I've crafted a (non-golden) version and we are friends again.
