Most likely scenario: After Reno rotates out, Blizzard will continue to support the "highlander" deck type by printing more cards with the "no duplicates" effect. It probably won't be another full heal card, but it will be something strong enough to justify running only single copies.
nope, the most likely scenario is the one with inspire and joust, one expansion only and then blizzard forgets they exist to pursue a new toy, they are more similar to a little kid.
But the Inspire and Joust cards they gave us were terrible, where the Highlander ones are actually good. Plus Highlander is spanning across two sets now, where Inspire and Joust only saw one (so far). Furthermore, they could still bring back Inspire if they make the new ones halfway decent, like they failed to do in TGT. Joust I hope stays dead forever, but Inspire was actually an awesome mechanic tied to bad/overcosted cards. Also consider how they brought back Discover, since it was the most well-received mechanic in HS history. Highlander is also well-received; admittedly not as much as Discover, but not too far behind so I can see them printing support for Highlander for many years to come.
It's hard for me to fathom that even a company like Blizzard would introduce something so fundamental as Highlander, only to let it die when it's so widely played even now nearly a year after it first became a thing. Furthermore, they just printed more Highlander cards which is the entire theme of that faction, and it's also hard for me to fathom that they were only ever planning to keep Highlander in Standard for a few months. AND, they not only brought back Highlander for this set, but they printed four (Raza, Solia, Krul, and Kazakus, am I missing anyone?) cards for it, where previously there was only Reno that truly synergized. I just can't see them putting that much support into something they plan to kill off in a few months. It's just so hard to imagine that they would let this fade into Wild obscurity after all the effort they put in.

If I am Blizzard, this is what I would do. I would simply let Reno rotate out next expansion without doing anything, then if Reno decks become trash tier, print more Reno support card in the adventure after it.

People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
I don't think the question is "will highlander die" but "what will replace Reno Jackson". I don't think you need him for the fundamentals of the deck to work, it will still be 1 off's of 30 different cards, you may just need healing cards within those 30 instead of some of your other cards. Maybe that will break it, maybe it will do ok still. Only time will tell, but I know for sure they will create more cards based around that mechanic. Blizzard is a very lazy developer as of late, they don't fix what isn't broken when it comes to making money. Which seems to be all they care about these days.

I think that when Reno rotates out, they will print at least 1 more card with the single-copy requirement that will allow highlander decks to continue to be used effectively.
That being said, I am concerned about the future power of highlander decks in Wild. If they keep printing single-copy cards, eventually their power level in Wild will be off the charts.
what about a card that reads; "if you have no duplicates, double your heroe's HP." Brann will also be rotated out iirc, and it has just enough variables to make it decently balanced with 60 HP being max.
The Legendary you want reads Battlecry: Ruin the game for your opponent if your deck has no duplicates because you have deserved this by building a no-duplicates deck.
Priest highlander works without Reno already. And if Renolock is out then the deck will be even better since that's its biggest competition.
That said I'm sure T5 has plans, just because we don't know them doesn't mean they aren't happening. Maybe be excited for what's going to be new, better than doom and gloom over a little change.
Perhaps when they printed Patches they should have said "If your deck has no defense and targets a T5 win, get a 1/1 charge at he beginning of the game" - see, then it becomes a clever deck building tool like the beloved Reno. The new highlanders are actually well designed and good for the game, whereas Reno is just a bandaid and a marketing gimmick. If the highlanders can't survive without him then they weren't very good decks to begin with. What good deck relies on a single card to win?

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Combo decks rely on multiple cards to win. A single card doesn't seem too prohibitive.
Decks like these are built for survival; they've got taunts, heals, target removal, and card draw. They include all the tools to help them live long enough to find that single card, and after that, their chances of winning goes waaaay up.
Besides, I've won plenty of games without ever having to play Reno. Just like how Malygos Druid can still win games without ever drawing Malygos. Of course, drawing that single card really helps, but most decks include multiple win-conditions just in case they don't.
