I'd gladly exchange my 100k dust for 100k gold.. don't be stupid. If you buy new packs - you could use some of the cards - if you use them than that's x8 value...
why would somone buy naxx when all the key cards are commons and rares?.... jst wait and craft them, only good legendary is loatheb and i dont think its worth all this gold or real money. unless you want to play the pve
I'm a big boy and can admit I was wrong :) I looked at more videos and such, and thanks to the pity timer the chances for opening epics and legends is up. Please disregard my advice!
Good luck all! I'm hoarding gold for new expo!

This is such a refreshing post. A poster actually acknowledging a mistake!
Kudos to you good sir and let's hope more people follow your example.
If you haven't done so, go buy Naxxramas. Save up as much gold as you can and buy the wings, or at least buy one win so the others will be available.
When standard hits, you'll be able to disenchant all the cards in naxx, which nets you a whopping 3140 dust.
Mid you buy 35 packs, at minimum you'll get 1400 dust.
The average dust per pack is around 100. So spending 3500 gold on 35 packs would give you 3500 dust, on average. That's a better deal than buying Naxxramas.
Yeah, sorry, I just can't believe that. Besides, the Naxx dust is a guaranteed 3140, so that's way more reliable than buying a bunch of packs and praying you get good quality draws AND the cards from the classes you want.

And may the odds be ever in your favor!
Tried to embed an awesome THG gif but I'm a noob and couldn't do it :( Can someone explain to me how to do this?
The average of full disenchant value is ~90-95 actually. People tend to forget that a single pack with goldens / legendaries makes up for quite a lot of the shitty 40 dust packs in terms of average.
This does not consider that you WILL get some cards you want to keep, where then the dust value = crafting value, thus the pack providing significantly more "dust value" than 100.
Even for my quite big collection which is not that far from completion, the average dust value of my packs is between 140 and 150 (calculating cards that I do not have 2 copies of with crafting value; i am ignoring the extra value of goldens in the calculation). This comes from the chance of 1600+ value packs for new legendaries. Still most packs I open are 40 dust.

Take note of this post's statement of cards that you keep in a pack. Because of it that packs where you keep the cards are MUCH more valuable than dusted cards.
Now note that we are abouuutt a month or less away from a new expansion, where the first 50 packs will be pretty much all new cards.
So, befor eyou buy Naxx, are you all set to get 40-50 packs of the new expansion? If not, you'll get more value buying the new expansion than dusting all of Naxx.

I respect this a lot. Actually it shouldn't be a big problem to admit a mistake, but unfortunately this is not natural on the internet. Most start to become rude or so, when they are proven wrong.
New thought on the matter: It was pointed out several times that OP was wrong and he admited it. But if you are not f2p and if it is about spending money then this argument can make sense. With the money you get around 20 packs, if you buy them with discount. That has a de value of 2000 dust and that is less than you get from naxx.
This doesn't take into account to get new cards which you then don't need to craft anymore. If you take this into account the dust value of a pack is higher of course. You can simple count the crafting cost of the new cards and the de value of your duplicates to get the dust value of your pack. Doing so especially the first packs of a new expansion have a really high value, higher than 157 (=3140/20). However, from my point of view it is not so easy to assess the dust value of a pack. On the one hand the dust value is depending on personal preferences. It matters if you are a collector or not, if you just want the core cards or also using cards which are not so common, if you de useless cards or if you keep what you get and so on. On the other hand it is depending on the amount of packs you will get in the future. By getting new cards from a pack you safe the crafting cost, but at the same time you decrease the value of future packs. The commons and rares you get in the first packs, you will get eventually anyway in future packs. So considering that you have to give back your very first pack (assuming it was 1 rare and 4 commons) after opening 300 packs, you will most likely loss only 40 dust and not the 260 dust crafting dust it was worth in the beginning. So actually you should take the expacted value (counting crafting cost of new ones and de value of duplicates) of the last 20 packs you will get for the expansion into account, which is of course hard to guess. But if you tend to open many packs and like to have a big collection you most likely end up with an expected value of 150 dust per pack and in that case buying naxx for the dust would be more efficient. Especially if you want to go for some specific cards and you would de other new cards. I hope my last point is understandable :)

Yeah buying Naxx is a more efficient way to hoard dust.. IF you weren't interested into the cards in the packs at all. For a newbie I'd say that 3140 dust is less important than buying 20 packs but I could be wrong.
Sure. As i pointed out in the second half of my post, the value of packs depends on various factors. And i didn't consider the time aspect. For many players it doesn't make sense to get the dust for money. I just wanted to say that this can be efficient, while the first proposal is not efficient in any case.
You guys are crazy for playing for 2 months nonstop for collecting enough gold for $20 worth adventure cards, so you can disenchant them on 1/8 rate.
good on you guys.
Dead but dreaming
