Technically you can still play all the cards that you crafted, in exactly the same game mode as you are playing them now. Wild mode is essentially the mode that you craft the cards to play in.
You did not craft the cards to play in Standard Mode, just like how you did not craft the cards to play them in Tavern Brawl mode. Tavern Brawl mode has a different set of rules and restriction that nullifies the privilage that you get from adding new cards to your collection. Same goes for Standard. When you craft those cards, there was no guarantee that you will be able to use them in all game modes. The only guarantee is that you get to use them in the current Ranked mode (which will be renamed Wild).
So, enjoy playing your cards in the mode that you crafted them for, Wild Mode. And if you want to join the fun of the new Standard Mode that Blizzard is releasing, you are welcome to play by the same restrictions as everyone else.
They surely won't do it. If they gave full dust disenchant nobody would buy more packs, just disenchant the cards from when a expansion goes away and put that dust into another one.
I agree with you that they won't but from a business perspective it's complete bull. I've clearly showed I'm more than willing to spend a lot of Money on the game. And I would continue to do so if I wouldn't feel ripped off. It's just as important to take care of your core customer base, in the financial sense, as to try and expand your total customer base.
But you're not the core customer base, not even close.
And you internet randoms should reaaally stop saying "from a business perspective, this billion dollar company does bullshit and I know better". You don't know shit.
From a business perspective, as well as a moral perspective, it's perfectly fine. You decided to not play in Wild with your goldens, you decided to craft useless goldens in the first place, why would Blizzard have to pay for your dumb decisions ?
Come back in 10 years when you've finished primary and high school mate. Economy is quite a refined theory dating back 300 years, we've all read the same books. How do you think I got the Money that I used to make the "dumb" decisions in the first Place? I'm sorry mate, but you clearly are the one who "don't know shit" as you put it. Bigger stones than Blizzard have fallen from the money making heaven.
Quoting you again....." And I would continue to do so if I wouldn't feel ripped off. "
You spent time and money on something that provided you with no additional play value and was purely for aesthetics and to stroke your own ego........yet, you now somehow feel ripped off? why?
Are your cards being banned?
Are they no longer playable in ANY format?
Did your gold cards somehow make you a better player?
you wasted dust and gold.....and possibly real money....on something that provided you with ZERO additional play value.
They surely won't do it. If they gave full dust disenchant nobody would buy more packs, just disenchant the cards from when a expansion goes away and put that dust into another one.

Wild is still a 100% viable way to play the game. In practice, they're just adding another game format. The way we play the game today is not changing at all.
I read the new announcement made by Blizzard about the rotation today. While I totally can understand it (beeing a tcg veteran for over 20 years) I find it very hard that we are not allowed to disenchant our cards to full value. I do have golden Sludge Belchers, Kel, Webspinner, Mad Scientist, Loatheb, Duplicate, Voidcaller, Deathbite and probably more I can't remember.
This whole standard format was unannounced before. Usually, Blizzard allows a "full refund" on the dust invested when something changes. I basicly spend hundreds of Euros to get these cards golden. Yes, it was my decision, but it was made by the assumption (which was provided by blizzard) that I can play these cards in the decks I want. So I basicly bought booster packs to have enough dust for these cards to make em shiny. A mistake I will not make any more.
Adding a rotation will be very healthy for the game, but it will also result in the players moving forward to the standard format. New players don't need to worry about the old cards, meta will be fresh and more and more players will shift away from thge old sets. Especially as they can disenchant them for the new cards they need.
I humbly request a one time full dust disenchanting option. From now on, it will be clear, that the new expansion will rotate out. Otherwise I'm not sure if I can trust them any more, which will result in playing hearthstone full free. I know this probably still will be in their interest, but I hope it is not and they will show they community, that they will give in on this request. Many other players will feel the same.
Sincerely Maik
hummmmm, did you read that all cards are available to play in wild format???
if you don't care about playing for HCPs, then you will not care about standard, and thus you won't need to dust your cards
They surely won't do it. If they gave full dust disenchant nobody would buy more packs, just disenchant the cards from when a expansion goes away and put that dust into another one.

are you kiddin?
Wild = useless. There is no hype there. Will important tournaments be in this format? No. That's where the money is. Who will be considered a good player? A legend 'wild' player or a legend 'standard' player? That's where the effor goes.
I paid for cards in this game and they removed them. No refund no support.
that's a dirty move
They have not been removed, so you're not losing money.
Cry me a river! Gotta love QQing "Entitled" Rich Kids. You can still play all these 'Cosmetic' Golden cards you "invested" in, in the EXACT same format you always have.
Wild mode will be EXACTLY the same as the current Play mode.
You can rank up to Legend
You will get your card back for the month
you will get your final rank chest reward
you will be able to summon all the random cards from any set when playing in Wild
you will be able to use ALL your fancy pants Rich Kid cards.
No difference!
Oh wait! You won't be able to get Blizzcon WC Points! Sorry I lied it's almost exactly the same!
Standard is just a new mode, no different to Tavern Brawl or Arena and guess what you can't always use the cards in those either.
I'm sorry you have $600 to spend you forced to waste on digital cosmetics. I think all those starving kids in Africa should do a charity concert to raise money for all the people Blizzard "wronged" bet they're all saying "oh no! Have you heard some people can't use digital cards in a new format of there favourite game and it cost them $600? What should we do for them?"
I am in exactly the same situation, and I agree 100%. I really hope Blizzard will take this in consideration, cause they a punishing those who maybe invested the most in the game. Lets hope!
I'm in a similar position. Golden Chows Belchers etc. They are being nerfed because wild mode will be a joke that no one who plays the game competitively will even try once.
It's been said in other posts, but I'll state it again here. Wild will not be just the same as the current ladder after a couple of expansions. Why? Because one of the major reasons for introducing restrictions in the ladder is to allow more design space for future cards. Or to put it another way, the cards they have planned will be overpowered when combined with the full card set.
It stands to reason that when these cards pass into the alternative game mode it will end up broken as....or "wild" as blizz are calling it. I've played enough games to know that for some people winning is all that matters. Hence Wild will end up with a large proportion of decks sporting the current OP decks. In a short space of time wild will be very un-fun indeed.
So you now have a choice - accept that you can no longer access your cards and play the balanced game, use all of your cards in an fundamental imbalanced mode, of stop playing altogether and keep some fond memories.
For me it may be the latter but I'll have to wait and see. Maybe wild will be crazy fun...or maybe not! Maybe sacrificing 25% of my cards will be worth it not to see a paladin every other game.
i wrote this on the blizzard forum too , Its not Warcraft where they close an old raid . it becomes a feat. of strength and the devoted first come first served get to strut on a NON OBTAINABLE Mount in their towns making new players wish they had a glimpse of past glory . NOOOOOOO au contraire mon frere , stick em up .. empty your wallet , your memories and join the seasonal boot camp where we dictate whats cool and what isn't . charge it extra (obviously) and limit the feeling of the word ''collection'' to a RENT the HOT n HEAVY cards of the Month . thats the best backstab i've seen in this game so far , thinking about the dust / craft ratio enrages me further into oblivion . Douche move blizzard .
If you think Wild = Useless, then why are you still playing this game, since today's Hearthstone = wild ?
That's a silly statement, because current Hearthstone = Wild = Standard.
They are both the same thing. We currently can play Basic + Classic + Sets From the Last 2 Years. With the upcoming expansion Standard and Wild Rules differ for the first time, which is why Blizzard decided to separate them now.

Sorry maybe I'm just bitter or jealous.
Ive spent so much on this game that i have many times questioned my own sanity. And im telling you, ive been robbed by these new changes. Perceived value from my cards has been reduced, significantly. On the bright side, ill be saving a fortune from being forced to give up my golden collecting. Dont know if im gonna laugh or cry.

Are you a tournament player, or what?
Wild is literally what we're playing in Hearthstone right now, and what we've been playing since this game was released. If you don't enjoy the game format, I'm curious to know why you spent so much money on it. No cards are being "removed".
even if we just accept the new changes in HS and those who made naxx and GVG golden cards will not get refunded or full value disenchant them but that also puts us in a place where we cannot make any golden cards in the future cuz definitely to do that u have to spend a lot and eventually these cards r not usable anymore in standard mode and again if u want to disenchant them u get the normal dust amount, so i think there has to be something in return from blizzard cuz on this pace things won't stay the same for a long time.
Its not like they nerfed any cards to give you full refund like Leeroy. Its not like they stole your collection and made it unplayable. You can still play wild queue with all your cards when it will be released. I dont see any particular reason for fullprice de.

I'm in the same boat. I have nearly every warlock card in gold, all the staples from Naxx and GvG in gold including Dr. Boom. I crafted all of these and would also appreciate a one time disenchant for full refund. This update is very much wanted and I'm excited about it, but I'm not excited about my golden cards being absolutely worthless now.
What are you crying op? You can play those cards in Wild.
Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter
Unfortunately, Blizzard found a loophole.

Nobody forced you to play with golden cards twinkle toes.
