So I had an idea here, to my knowledge Blizzard has said they are not going to add anymore classes to hearthstone, but with the card Renounce Darkness, I was thinking, couldn't they have a paladin specific card like the Helm of Domination or some such? With that they could just alter the portrait of the hero to have glowing eyes and more undead appearance, sort of like the Shadowform thing.
As for the hero power, maybe summon slightly stronger minions or simple make them zombies and alter all holy themed cards into new DK ones that would synergize with the new zombie minions. Corpse explosion and such!
As for Arthas, my hope would be him having a unique transformation as a new Paladin like Liadrin, except if you use the card to become a DK on him he would become the Lich King for a nice visual effect.
Mindblowing! Should be implemented into the actual game right this instant! Lore > reasoning. Although even if blizzard developer happened to listen to your request, you still didn't state ANYTHING.
It sounds like a lot of fun, but it also sounds like a lot of work making dark versions of every Paladin card, only usable if you play this one certain deck type, and only if you actually draw the card that converts you.

It's a really cool idea. Kinda hard to explain my thinking here, but I think it could work like a combination of Elise and Ysera, where there is one Death Knight card for each mana cost, and so when the Helm gets played and you transform, your deck then gets filled with Death Knight cards according to the mana cost of the previous card. This way you really only need to design 10 new cards. Just my two cents.
I think the issue is less that they won't ever add new classes, but more that they don't know how to go about implementing them.
They'd have to match the number of cards accessible to other classes at the time, design new basic cards, and after 3 new classes, it'll slow down their development for new expansions.
They'll probably add new classes eventually, when they get a bigger team.

Hadn't thought to deeply on that one, in that case, like someone else said, perhaps only a few card could be added per mana cost so it'd be less like a hidden deck's worth of cards and more like Rafaam or Xaril, Poisoned Mind.
If that's the case, would it be better for there to be another expansion that perhaps includes undead? Maybe making it a card type and giving all classes some spell options ... Something like how murlocs are right now.
I had the EXACT same idea the other day after Renounce Darkness was revealed, to make a reverse variance for the DK class, knowing Blizzard are unwilling to add additional classes. So I had to make a concept out of it. Well actually, the only difference is that the Death Knight idea I contemplated is a Neutral card, seeing how the Lich King can convert anyone to do the scourges bidding. It fits the WOW concept well of converting any class above a certain level to a Death Knight.
The idea is that you replace your class cards with "Death Knight cards". There are 20 DK cards, one Spell/Weapon and one Minion out of each mana cost between 0 and 9. The DK cards give much more value then the average class cards to compensate for the randomness. The Hero Power is also a lot stronger then the average one but conditional.

Here's the idea and some sample cards;
Seems like a good start, guess with that any class could go DK, though I'd miss Arthas not having a shot at being an actual hero!
Some of these cards look kind of overpowered, hero power seems too good not to use... Wait, does Blood Boil in not so few words essentially say "Destroys Target Minion, Draw Card"?

Yeah that was my idea that the cards are supposed to be overpowered, since they are random. When I created them I gave them a power level of 1 mana higher then their cost. The same way Renounce Darkness gives you a 1-mana discount because it's so random. The Hero Power is strong but you may find yourself unable to use it if you're up against something like a Freeze Mage that doesn't play a lot of minions. It might also force you to trade simply to get the value from it when you actually want to go face. But yeah, it's supposed to be strong :) Maybe 2/3 or 3/2 would be better balanced. Blood Boil is the hard removal, but weak against Divine Shield and other weird effects like a card that has the Animated Armor effect on itself. Unlike destroy effects, it also triggers stuff like Imp Gang Boss

Any thoughts on this? Good, bad? :D
